In this demonstration by Kevin Hoagland, he teaches participants at the GPAA Placer Petes Oktoberfest how to pan for gold without water using the ‪@Garrett_metaldetectors‬ Super Sluice Pan. Dry panning is a great gold prospecting method when water is unavailable and you’re testing remote areas not easily accessible.
I would use this prospecting method to find gold before hauling in my gear or equipment.

The area around Murray Idaho, a lot of the streams dry up towards late summer you need to learn how to dry pan. I like the bucket idea.

It's probably feasible to pan dry, although I think that to get all the gold one may have to dry pan the same material multiple times to be sure it all was recovered. Seems non productive since carrying a couple of containers of water to a dry spot would take less time to recover toe gold.

It’s definitely just to prospect a spot before hauling gear in. Definitely not for production. Great if u see something along the highway and all u got is a pan

A face mask to limit the ingestion of dust into your lungs may be recommended. Also for those that have gold fever, no one gets rich panning for gold anymore - please consider it to be a hobby.
