I’m so happy you finally have your #1 wishlist plant!! It’s such a rewarding plant to grow and definitely takes off fast once it gets established (it’s potted in tree fern fibre by the way!) - also so sad to hear about your dioscorea! It grows like a weed though, so there’s plenty more where that came from if things take more of a downhill turn. Loved seeing you so happy about new plants 💛
You are the best 🫶🌿 thank you again! And ooooh tree fern fibre 👀 fancy! I’m smiling seeing all of the sweet comments about you on this video - hope you know how appreciated you are :)
Awe Charmaine is such a sweetheart 💕 I recently bought a couple plants from her in a purge and she put one of them in the cutest little cup with smiley face stickers all over it 🥹 I hope your Dioscorea Discolor roots up for you! That’s a wishlister for me 😝 It’s such a cool plant 💙
Charmaine is another of my favorites to watch! And you can tell that she is such a giving person. Because you should want to share plants and knowledge!
I can not wait for you to get into a bigger place. I feel like it’s going to be some epic planty content! I’m currently having the same issue with space and if I could sprawl my plants out a bit more it would just transform my place.
@wildfern that is so sweet of them! The Esqueleto is such a fast grower! Mine is crawling up my wall and I love it! Believe it or not it’s not fussy at all. I find less is more with them. Also my Var. Heart leaf is kinda slow but high variegation. The new leaves will come out almost purple looking if you have it in high light but will fade to normal color so don’t freak out lol. That’s normal. Can’t wait to see updates. 💚🫶🏻
Hiya Fern!! I love watchin your videos. They’re so fun to watch n listen to you talk about your plant issues so easily. Definitely takes off some of the heartache when you have a struggling plant! But I was going to need some tips to care for my new carnivorous plants on the way from California Carnivores!! A “Ping Laueana”, Sarracenia “DT x Adrian Slack”, Drocera Capensis “narrow leaf”, and a dionaea “DC-XL” for my boyfriend! Ty in advance for all the planty tips 🫶🏼
sharing plants is one of my favorite parts of the hobby!! it brings so much joy. Plus it allows me to snip and chop and not feel guilty about not propping all the cuttings because of my lack of space, which I know you can relate to, lol
just repotted my dioscorea cuttings today, they did root in water but took quite long and they did also look a bit sad for a period. i was told to keep the soil moist and give them BRIGHT light which i have been doing for about a month and they seem super happy. apparently they are part of the yam family.
So excited to see you received Charmaine’s plants! I watched her pot them up for you on her vlog and couldn’t wait to see your reaction! 💚 She’s got a heart of gold.
Your personality hits the nail on the head !! I love it you are so sweet!! I have those plants and my esquleto I water every 2 weeks and variegated heart leaf every week and mine are thriving and they are under my soltect light and they love it.
For my plumosa fern, I found self watering pots and lots of light promotes great growth. Plant will grow better if grow light is close to the plumosa fern.
I moved countries last year and had to give/sell my whole collection One of the plants I miss the most is my Begonia Maculata. As you said it's so easy, fast growing and beautiful and it bloomed for me. I'm definitely gonna get one soon The esqueleto she sent you is soooo gorgeous! So nice of her
I just recently got a variegated heartleaf philodendron too!! It’s been just as easy as every other trailing philodendron and grows so quickly. Can’t wait to see yours thrive! ✨🫶🏽🌱
I'm so happy for you. I bought an esqueleto about 8 months ago and planned on putting it on a pole; that has not happened yet. It's been so neglected, sitting on the floor between two light shelves. I have never lost a leaf and it grows like crazy. My humidity is low and it doesn't seem to affect it. It's awsome. I'm going to propagate and put on a pole soon. You're gonna love it as it gets larger. Also, out of all my heart leaf philos, the variegated one is the slowest grower, like, so slow and mine is under lights. Not sure if that's the typical, but I'm still waiting for it to grow so I can propagate.
If you want your orchid to live its best life in your environment, I’d pot it up in your aroid mix (with a little more moss than you’d normally use) and an orchid pot and water it like an Anthurium.
I love your and Charmaine’s channels. So when she said she was sending them to you I seriously started stalking your videos waiting for you to get them!!! I feel like I got gifts watchin you open them❤!!!
I am all about those spring vibes !! It gives so much energy to repot and take care of my plants after neglecting them a bit. It's adorable of Charmaine to gift you these plants !! I love the alocasia you showed, makes me think about my Puncak borneensis, could it be one ?
I was watching Charmaine's content when she was picking out the plants for you... She speaks highly of you! You both are sweethearts. Love your honesty and love for plants and life. Thanks for sharing...
Yeah Charmaine and Alice are just sweethearts hahaha a colab or just a vlog of you guys would be awesome, but we know that it's not super easy with how you're situated on the island, with the ferry etc... such a joy seeing someone getting a wishlist plant 😊
FYI esqueleto really likes to send runners if it doesn't have anything to grow into so give it a proper moss pole asap when there is growth :) other than that, enjoy having a gigantic plant in about a year since esqueleto gets massive leaves in no time. :)
My God 😍🔥 how beautiful that esqueleto and the others! 😊😍 I also have a 3 new plants wishlist. I got a Philodendron bicolor, Alocasia Jaclyn and Philodendron Ring of fire😍😍😍 🔥🔥 I'm so excited to see my baby's grow too! Happy for you Fern🥰😊❤️
I’m in the same spot, I always get so excited about my plants in the late winter. Like I watch my plants new leaves as if they’ll unfurl since the last time I looked at them 30 minutes prior 😫
Love that monstera!!! SO pretty! I am growing my adansonii on a mosspole right now, hoping to get the big leafs. But now I want a esqueleto as well :D I did get a wishlist plant today, a monstera adansonii variegata albo. Also added a alocasia to my collection, the melo. I am definitley feeling the spring vibes, love seeing all the plants grow! I also can't wait to make some more planty friends in my area and do some trades! This is my first year in my new house and I'm just now getting into houseplants and creating an awesome collection of plants! So if there are some Dutch, Belgian or German people here that wanna trade some plants. I live in Maastricht, Netherlands!
The dischidia is in the sweet/potatoe family if im not mistaken. Grows incredibly fast and from a tuber that does in fact slerp yearly from what ive seen. But is natural and good for the plant as it comes back bigger and stronger. Sydney Plant Guy has a great video explaining this species and care.
OMG! A variegated heartleaf is so seriously on my wishlist!! I was just stalking pics of it on Google 😍😍😍. I can't believe I'm watching your video and you were gifted one! 🍀 I'm definitely going to be watching how it does. I'm so happy for you! 😁😊
I recently found a monstera esqueleto for an absolute STEAL at my local nursery. They had just gotten a shipment and when I saw the leaves poking out of one of the boxes I nearly passed out. All of the ones they had gotten already have at least 6 LARGE leaves and were so happy. I still can’t believe it
Monstera esqueleto has been one I've been 👀 looking for! It awesome you were gifted these plants! I got some variegated heartleaf cuttings a couple months ago and they are probably ready to be potted. This video makes me want to get on that! Lol The new leaves kind of sun stress a burgundy color 😍
Love a little plant haul! ☺️ I just got a tiny philodendron silver sword - Fern, the couple that you’ve had totally got me obsessed and I can’t wait to watch mine grow! I’m excited to take proper care of it and allow it to mature ✨
That Alocasia looks a little like a scalprum, but missing the lobes. You're going to love the Esqueleto! Mine has grown so fast and been super easy, out in my normal living room conditions. Love all the awesome PNW plant RUclipsrs--you, Charmaine, Alice, and now Jing and Lauren from NST too!

Yay so glad you got your esqueleto! (BTW did you know that is skeleton in Spanish?? so cool!) I have a rooted cutting and it's doing pretty well, it's put out two new leaves in my care, but they are VERY small. So I kind of wish I'd put it on a stake right away, and I'm going to do that ASAP! And yes I am very much feeling the spring vibes over here!!
Ok I think i figure out what the alocasia is. I am actually super invested because I love alocasia. But I think it might be an Alocasia Puncakborneensis. At first I thought it was just a green dragon scale. But the length of the leaf to me made me question that. I mean that is the best guess I got.
Awww Charmaine is awesome plant friend, I saw her VD when she was telling us she’s going to give them to U. The only advice that I can give you is water light , humidity, when you get these type of plants and watch them like a hawk 👁️🦅until you see some thing happening.😂 😂nyc🧤👒🇹🇹ooh that asparagus fern,u giftedgift yourself I have one too and they’re fabulous enjoy.
Huh, that Alocasia really has me stumped. There's a few species it kinda looks like but they're not perfect matches. Weird you found such an oddball for so cheap at a shop loll. Gotta love getting new plants! I recently got a bunch. I got a weird variant of Philodendron Pink Princess that grows multiple growth points, kinda like a Burle Marx, a small Philodendron tortum, a couple rare Phalaenopsis, a Monstera subpinnata, a couple Hoya mathilde, a Hoya multiflora, and a Philodendron longilobatum :D
I know right?! I’ve looked all over the web and there’s a few that it resembles but none that I’m just 100% sure of idk 🤷♂️ maybe someone will comment it 😂
OMG stunning plants Fern also a bloody odd coincidence my two daughters have just ordered me a Dioscorea and an Esqueleto rooted cuttings for a Mothers Day gift...Wishing all the good planty vibes in growing all your beautiful new plant babies 🌱💚
@@wildfern I fell in love with them when I seen them on @sydneyplantguy OMG Fern the Esqueleto leaves are absolutely massive !! I've been collecting large branches to build a sort of full wall structure singing the 3 branches that are about 7ft long then adding on smaller ones inbetween to create an indoor tree 🤣🤣 I bet yours will look amazing, you've created such a beautiful and chilled space from the looks of it. Such a peaceful home for you and Olive 🤗 Oh before I go how's that stunning big Hastatum ? 🌱💚

Could be an Alocasia Scalprum. But there are so many Alocasias out there. Very difficult to tell. But definetly a very beautiful one 🌿

Good morning from Ky, I absolutely love your polish. A friend gifted me a Tortum and Vittarifolium and I was so happy I wanted to cry.

If you haven’t used fluval stratum, they root so awesome in it. I have switched all my props to fluval. Thicker & stronger roots than water roots.
