    It is weird how so many people have trouble treating pro wrestling like other forms of entertainment. There's the character, and there's the performer

    • @poppycock31185
      @poppycock31185 7 месяцев назад

      I completely agree obviously but I also get why they treat pro wrestling differently or at least why they did for many years. Up until a couple of years ago the WWE was shown on Sky Sports here in the UK. Regardless of how "real/fake" it is or opinions on things like are they "athletes/performers?" etc.. because of the way pro wrestling was packaged and portrayed for years by the industry itself it is now a unique form of entertainment in a category all by itself. For instance there will never be a time when you can watch Game of thrones or a Batman film on a sports TV channel.
      It is stupid and again I am with you completely but I do understand why.

      If you think that’s what he was saying then you misunderstood his comment. He was saying that it was a poor decision to do but that he wondered if it was made a much bigger deal as a perceived controversy than it actually was. So he was saying “was everyone around the United States truly upset and finding this to be a huge deal or could it just be this geographical area that is upset and we are assuming that their opinion speaks for everyone”. It’s a pretty common thing that people think that the opinion of those that surround them is the opinion of everyone, not understanding or considering that the people that surround them probably think commonly to the way they do and that maybe another area doesn’t have those same thoughts. An easy example is a friend of mine couldn’t understand how Kanye’s shoe deal with adidas was so valuable because he doesn’t see his shoes on a bunch of people. But he wasn’t factoring that maybe those shoes aren’t commonly purchased in our geographical area but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a big seller somewhere else. The actions and habits of one small area doesn’t necessarily reflect the whole.
