I cant speak latin. You cant tell i know, im just saying......
Catching live, awesome! Probably get this a lot but how do you pick a story?
GCSE latin and a level latin was useless anyways hahah dont remeber anything
I'm just going to say it, this story was awesomely angsty.... I've been thinking of watching a teen film the past day or two and this satisfied that desire... loved the break for laughter in it hsha
I said out loud "I think we are all losing focus"
"Or atleast adjusting focus to what really matters" followed by more laughter on my part
Pain glove is a better love story then debbie does Dallas twilight edition? Vampire version of 70s pornos... theres an idea
AFAIK no one really knows how Romans actually pronounced Latin. So dont worry about it ;D

Thanks for many, many hours of entertainment, which has cost me nothing whatsoever. Thanks for constantly striving to improve your already stellar efforts. Thanks for treating your fans like we deserve the level of dedication you put into your work. You, sir, are a true Prince among men.
You know, I think it's refreshing to hear a 40k story that isn't as sterile as the more modern material. And I don't think anyone can fault you for cracking up at the "doves" and "holes" part.
I get a chuckle out of your reactions as you come across... interesting... portions of the narrative. x D
Ian Watson is clearly one of Slaneesh’s greatest champions
who knows, ian, this could be my next movie.
Wait is this the illustrious scribe, Ian Watson?
Neeeeexxxxtttt moooooooovvvvvviiieeeee
What exactly was the joke in that line? Did he ever make a movie inspired by that... Book?
@@MisterZimbabwe It's a quote from an interview Kubrick gave Ian Watson I think.
Eye of Terror. That'd be a movie /netflix adaptation
The influence of Chaos is so dirty, dirty in this. I love it.
this true
Ian Watson is truly one of Slaneesh’s greatest champions.
"How could such perfection have eschewed from Gelandra Pushegs hips"
“Her breasts where two large ducks, sleeping beneath the skin”
Awesome story with a positive end for a change!
a rarity
But, but Thunderjug
One day I will listen all the way through one of these without falling asleep
Glad I'm not the only one!
A good narrator can do that. Happens to me as well.
But today is not that day!
Best sleep aid
I go to sleep to these every night
Omg I didn’t realize it was Ian Watson ...... it all makes sense now.
Ian waaatson sewer gobliiiiinnn
RIP Thunder Jug....
Always love coming back to this just to listen to you break at the "soft ring." What gets me is immediately after that he says he's not sure what shape it is. Even though he just said lol.
lol
An onion ring is a ring but is still any and every shape
By my roots, what an excellent story..
Oh Johmmy and his dreams of doves... 🕊️ 🕊️ So well read!! I enjoy that you chortled along with me! 😂😂
It really gives new meaning to the phrase "lovey dovey"
Love this one. The stories where it's a bit more gritty and perverse are where it's at. Its supposed to be grim dark. The newer stuff can be a bit clinical. Thanks man
Couldn't agree more. It's pump fiction: it's got to have edge.
I want to take a second to thank you. I deal with chronic pain and for some reason listening to your long form videos is enough to put me to sleep. I do go back and listen to what I missed, but I'm happy to have it to hear.
Check out Oculus Imperia as well, always manages to get me to sleep if need be :)
Dude same. Getting lost in these stories lets me kind of disconnect from the pain enough to fall asleep. Most of the time at least
Who needs foamy things, when a prayer to the Omnissiah and a blessing to calm the Machine Spirit will do the trick just fine?
man, silly descriptions and creepy lines aside, this story was actually pretty damn cool, the concept is interesting and the robot was very disturbing and threatening. If it wasn't so gross I'd say this is some top notch grimdark
Take out the 'robot' part, and replace it with any other character, from any other Ian's books, and lo, your comment still perfectly describes any of them 🤭👌
I likes it
Weird slaanesh stuff aside, this was a great story. The antagonist was actually a really cool concept, enjoyed that last section thoroughly.
Made even better by your epic narration!
Weird tales by Ian Watson Oh grox me! Jaq Draco flashbacks intensifies....
Dude, I LOVE the, "what the fuck?!?!" stuff, PLease dont cut em out!! Its really cool to hear you crack up a little at some of it too.
A story by Ian Watson, author of the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s film A.I. ? This should be horrifying. I mean, good.
Would be cool to see a cameo in the "present day" c.112 M42 of an mid career Inquisitor Jomi (in his 130's or 40's) in some modern story.
Probably hanging around the Grey Knights, with his talent, if he's still alive...
Ian waatsoon seweeer gobliiin extrordinaaaair!
Lol you don't need to do PSAs about your sound setup. You're a nice lad.
Great job !! my favorite part is when you break character is your commentary is very funny. Keep up the good work, mate !
I know it can break the immersion of the story BUT, I love your school boy chuckle at the more "slanneshly" type references. Keep the stories coming, they're great 😉
I love the announcement you sound like a well educated and well spoken ork no offense
well orks are partially a parody of british football hooligans
I BLESS THIS! FLORIDA MAN!
Aha! Looking up something on Lexicanium now, I found that this is the story where Grimm the Squat technician (before becoming part of Inquisitor Draco's retinue) in the original print (1990) was edited into Grill the Techpriest in this second publishing (2001)... because the canonicity of squats was in limbo around that time, they had not been seen* since the Titan Legions edition of epic, I think 1995 or so, and didn't make it into 3rd edition 40K.
This explains Grill's fairly uncharacteristic, for a tech-priest, behavior, being so emotional... even by RT standards of writing, where much of the lore had yet to be established and writers had fairly loose reins, he seems a bit odd. The inhumanity and detached cold logic of the martian priesthood had already been set by then.
* Think they had a semi-official armylist in Citadel Journal, but they were not in the main rules like the other armies in the 1997 Epic 40K edition, foreshadowing them being dropped by 1998.
I thought my recall of the story had gone wrong because i remembered a squat being in the story, thanks for clearing that up :)
I have the original printing of this, and am sorta annoyed they edited the squats out.
The weirdest part for me was how the space marine chapter was letting a fucking inquisitor basically run them. Or how this inquisitor made them take ogryns with tusks as fellow troops. Space marines taking non-space marines into their formations? LOL. A chapter master letting an Inquisitor structure his chapter? This is fucking weird. The inquisitor would be dead the moment he stole a chaplain's robes. Unthinkable.
Perfect narration! I love this story especially the hairy part and slip in the hairy hatch!
Gotta love the inquisition to even ponder the idea of sentencing 2 planets to death by bombardment and starvation all with one goal to eliminate a single person.
Many thanks yet again amigo perfect timing as always ABP :)
Thank you for the entertainment.
*"Beware those who seem human but are not"* ... Seems like good advice regarding that rotting undying 'god-emperor'.
Do I detect trace amounts of heresy?
Absolutely heretical.
Secret opening... OwO
There needs to be more stories featuring Ogryns.
Thank you so much for doing these, I listen to these in bed and when I go for a walk, really apprecate your efforts in doing these
Ahhh, the sewer goblin
Thats sewer goblin extrodinare to you!
I enjoyed the worldbuilding very much.
Awesome as always! Thank you !
The second I heard the name of the author, I immediately thought "sewer goblin"
1:15:16 Thanks for not cutting out that little character break xD
This was a fun story, and IMO the sound quality was just fine.
Thank you so much for doing these.
Ah yes Ian Watson my first 40k author...i was like 16 at the time...Nids bum...good times
Aww damn, I've heard this one before. It's a good one though!
I remember reading this as a lad, the Inquisitor series of books as well.. Great to hear it read by my favorite online fiction reader! Great reading, what a scary prospect for Johnny though Lol - description always made me chuckle. Yes, early 90's I think it was, remember were the first ever books. LOVED them then, great to re-visit it!
Your narratives are what I look forward too, 👍🏾💯
"The circle! Think of that!"😂
I wishi could afford the donate button... I really enjoy your work
no worries glad you like the stuff
Sweet goblin extraordinaire
I enjoyed that.
It was a good one..more please.
That was frakkin excellent!!!!! The story was great and the narration was incredible mate!!!
Well that was something....50 shades of 40k anyone?
Awesome narration mate. A liked it. Cheers ABP.
I've never heard a content creator apologize for their content so much when no one has said a thing.
wow love the new start bro
I was just thinking about this story a few days ago. Been years since I've read it!
Thanks for an awesome reading ;)
Thank you , Prince .

Nice and very interesting!
It was the first wh40k novel for me!Still love it!
That was mad, mad as a bicycle. You can tell it's old fluff too!
I love the old fluff
I love your giggles mid-story
its too much somtimes
About the sound proofing , sounds weird but just a layer of the square eggboxes or pallettes , with a layer of Matt paint causes the sound to be broken down into many tiny parts enveloped by egg cone holes and breaks the sound down a near hundred percent comparatively
Great read. Thanks. Have fun with "the playroom" ;)
LOL priceless. Thank you bro
Great story
Deathwing aswell first book i had about 20 years ago because of that dread on cover :O
Awsome
"it's probabyl been written mid 90s, it's really old." That's when I was born hahaha. Now you making me feel really really old
Sounds good my man
This is like sugar upon the porridge of death
Any chance you could put a summary in the info just so we can see what its about plz
1:42:45 SHAFT upon SHAFT
Very nice new intro!
Man, Ian Watson needs some serious therapy for his repression issues
I think my favorite border prince is the giggle prince
great listen
Sounds fine I was cracking up at this one also
Bloody hell that story is more than 20 years old I rember reading it as a teenager
I thought it was a pretty good story. A bit of a happy ending for 40K but still entertaining. I love that fact that you don't hide your own reactions. We bust out laughing sometimes too. Cheers Prince!
Oh no the Ian Watson boys might peel our faces to pass as pople.
A slaaneshi chaos dreadnought, pog
You breaking character is always funny.
Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne, carrots for the Sterling!
I love the old books
Best intro 🤘

Thank you broski! I have a friend who’s a sound engineer if you ever need advice or designs.

I'm halfway constructed is my battle cry! Sound was fine to me Prince.
Even in the 41 millennia you cant keep falt eath down !! (its like a plate.....no no)
The globe earthers work for choas......
I thought you did a splendid job. This was such an interesting story. Is there more of these characters? Also what microphones (make/model) do you use? Thanks again!
This was a good story. I love the more random ones as opposed to boilerplate marine battles
