Hot tip Mike, When you get a chance, take one of those screw from the fender, head over to Menards, and get "panel nuts" for them, from the factory they just run those through the aluminum, and when reinstalling I almost guarantee several will strip, A panel nut if you dont know clips over the sheet metal (panel) and has the female threads for sheet metal screws.
That's a really great tip! I will have to do that. I had several that were broken off, and may end up replacing the whole fender if I can find them. Thank you!!
Numbering the panels will make it easier to re-use them next year if needed
Great idea!
Just a thought, but black paint may help with heat under the camper. Let the sun assist.
My wife, Deanna, ALWAYS has the ZipLock bags at the ready when it comes to screws... and a SHARPIE to mark the bag! Great video - even if I am here a year late! We are full timers in a 40' Jayco Jayflight LOFT in Northern Nevada. Blessings and Happy Holidays!!
Great tips! Merry Christmas to you two!
Can’t wait until it gets below zero and we see how you guys manage. Good luck and go Bears. Stay warm.
Oof I hope it doesn't get that cold! 😂 Bear down!!!
We are using rigid sewer pipe and heat tape under the pipe to keep it warm in the winter from freezing. A couple of winters in the past 12 years ... we had a one to two week period of continual freeze... and learned valuable lesson on "Slinky waste pipe"...LOL!!
😆
Are you able to post a photo?? hmm... maybe not😅 doesn't hurt to ask
@@kimberlyn7778 Kim - I don't think it is possible to post a photo but I also have never tried either!
@@rongray4118perfectly fine. Thanks for your response
@@kimberlyn7778 I didn't exactly reply the way I should of! How rude! The type of pipe that we are using is 3"x 10' white drainage pipe (sort of lightweight but doesn't have perforation. Home Depot and Lowes carry it. the RV Outlet has a "no-hub" 90 degree that will attach (Clamp) to the RV Black water outlet... as long as you make sure to give the pipe a quarter bubble or more downslope it will drain all the black water. Our unit has a black water line connected with the grey water so showering and doing dishes keeps the line pretty clear of debris. We installed an electric heater chord to the bottom of our pipe to keep it from freezing (10 degree days in Northern Nevada). Cheers!
Great project with important tips we may use.
Thanks guys.
Thanks so much for watching!
Also a couple more options for winter rv’ing is trying air skirts might be easier another thing you can do put a small mushroom heater underneath trailer or in storage area near water lines , last thing is heat trace dump valve and any other exposed pipes ! Good luck on your adventures this winter and safe travels
I've seen those, they look awesome! Thanks so much!
Way to skirt the issue, guys! Hey, it's done, the only thing now is to see how it holds up. Way to go!
Speaking of gloves... I've lived in the midwest for 21 years now and only this year did I believe I've transitioned to being a midwesterner because I can remove a poop bag from the roll, open it, scoop up Pup's offering, and tie the bag without taking my gloves off. Unseasonably warm for sure! I remember in previous years I would take an empty citronella candle can (they're something like 4"-6" wide), fill it with a few charcoal briquettes, and have it going on a cinder block on the porch for trick-or-treaters and parents to warm their hands with on Halloween; didn't need that this year. Stay safe and warm, write to you again next week. I was going to mention blueberry Greenies for Khali again, but this time of year they also usually put out limited edition gingerbread Greenies that our pup likes.
Thank you!! Never thought of it being an "offering" 😂😂😂 Stay warm out there!!!
Hello friends, Pastor Fred here in Rockwood TN. Glad I found this video today as I am getting my RV ready to move into and had these same ideas for skirting it. Now it doesn't get as cold down here, but we had several days last year in the low teens, so this will be a must! Thank you for sharing....
Thanks so much for watching! Stay warm!
Did the same thing. I live full time and this is my first winter up north. Watching for more.
Awesome! Thank you!
Loved the bloopers. Good information. Thank you
Thank you so much, Betty Jo! Great hearing from you ♥♥♥
Tape technique looks efficient; good luck staying warm 22/23.
Thank you!
Can't wait to hear how it worked out over the winter. Good luck and continue to enjoy life!
Thank you so much!!
You're stylin' baby! Love it!! Welcome home my friends! Give Khali a treat from Cella & Sugar xoxo
Awe thank you so much! Hope ya'll had a good Thanksgiving! ❤
Yes we did !!! Ate too much!! You too
Looking good! Stay warm and snug! Jane in SC ❤🙏🏻
Thank you so much, Jane! Hope ya'll are doing good ❤
Hey, a Bears hat turns any outfit into formal wear!
FACT!
Great idea. You’ll be pleased in how this will help. Look forward to seeing what you have coming up. Take care. Happy Holidays.
Thank you! We're hoping it'll help keep us warm!! Happy Holidays!!!
We will be in Wisconsin from Xmas till Jan 9th, at a state park, woo hoo! (sarcasm) last year we did thanksgiving week boondocking in the mid teens in WI, this time at lease we will have 30 amp to help a little with Propane, Holy Crap our Imagine 3250BH went through a 20 lb tank every 1.5 days last year I hope a little electric supplement helps that.
You may be happy not paying the electric though!! 😆 The propane struggle is real. It takes a lot even with our small rig. Stay safe and happy holidays to you all!
Looks like that extra insulation is going to come in handy this coming week with the big winter storm. I'll be in central IN myself in my Imagine XLS for it so hopefully both our rigs are up to the task.
Woof! I saw that 🥶🥶🥶
Great job, nice medium-sized 5th wheel. Sawadee Khap 🤠
Thanks 👍
Hahah we were pretty confident in our skirting and used the stakes too. We had a big windstorm last week and the panels were blowing everywhere😂 we still think it’s “good enough.” Haha I love that you painted it! Looks nice that way!
Oh no!! I can't believe how well ours have held up so far. Fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞 Hope ya'll are staying warm up there!!
Looks great! Plastic squeegee is your friend when dealing with foil tape😉
Awe that would have been a great idea! Thank you!
It looks awesome!!! Happy Camping!
Thanks so much!
Great job. I think a carport structure would also be helpful especially in snowy times.
That would be nice!
Howdy ya'll
On our trip across the states last year were stopped at the Lewis and Clark Caverns. The owner of the RV park we stayed in lived there year round so he had his RV ready for winter. What they had for skirting was these large inflatable tubes that slid up under the RV as skirting, maybe a purchase to keep at Mom and Dads place for when you visit during the winter months. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a very safe New Years. By the way our cat is named Kahli.
Larry and Cathy
We've never been there! I've seen that type of skirting before, that's pretty cool. Hello from our Khali!
Lewis and Clark caverns is a must-see... We stopped there after spending 5 days at Theodore Roosevelt national Park another must see ... Go west you young people
We can't believe we didn't go west at all in 2022!! Hopefully we'll get to next year 🤞 Thank you!
Thanks for introducing me to Cheerwine. It is absolutely delicious, I recently tried Diet Cheerwine, and it's so good that it it doesn't taste like a diet drink. Have a very Merry Christmas, and keep on representing, Go Bears.
It's great, isn't it?! 🐻👇
As a true full timer, what do you do with the panels after Winter? we couldn't carry them with us.
Please let us know how that tape comes off when you remove the skirting this spring. Tape has a terrible habit of leaving a mess or damaging what you had tape on.
Will do!
@lifererouted was there any issues taking off the tape? I need to start my project asap

Look's really good, happy Thanksgiving
Thank you so much!
Please let me know if it saved you propane. Very interested Thank you Such a Great job May you and your family be blessed
Yes it does!
I just pulled the same tape off and it does leave residue I had to use pressure sprayer to clean it off..
Looks good! It is a lot cheaper than the inflated air skirts. Those are over $3000. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Oof! I did look at those but WOW! 💸
How easy is it to get to dump black and grey tanks?
We'll have to cover that in a future video 😂 not super fun!
Get down here to Citra! You won't need skirting...lol ;) - (Ray)
Awe, hey guys!!! Send us some warm weather! Miss ya'll!!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much, David!!! ♥
Would your local propane company bring you a 225lb bottle for the next few months? This could save you $$$ to purchase in bulk and they will come to fill it.... Just a thought.
Good luck. We'll be watching!
Thank you so much! Yes we're hooked into a 500lb tank now. We'll have to do a winter setup video!
Pls update on the overall cost in propane
I was thinking of black velcro, that way remove and put it back up. Your thoughts about this idea please
The trouble with any type of adhesive is trying to get it to stick. I would assume that getting 3M velcro to stick wouldn't last very long
I’m betting it makes a big difference!
It is!! ♥♥♥
Do you have heated holding tanks? We have an enclosed underbelly on our rig but not the heating pads for the tanks.
We do not have heated tanks, it's something we would love if we ever upgraded.
Did the board and tape hold u

Good idea thank you!!

All That skirting...I assume you're connected to a sewer line?
We have a sewer line behind our rig when we need to dump
Great work you guys!! @WebGlamping
