    0:35 Alternative #1 Using a door or 1:57 Using two doors
    2:57 Alternative #2 Using a door-frame (ideal transom type)
    3:45 Alternative #3 Using a Stair-case Clothe-line support
    4:15 Alternative #4 Steady beam (often found in attics/amazing joke included)
    This was one of my first RUclips videos (as you can see from the awesome presentation skills). I've come a long way since then! Check out my Calisthenics Transformation over the year and my latest Beginners guide ruclips.net/video/7NQDPAcZt7Q/видео.html&

      wedge a shoe tightly underneath the outer edge of the door. keeps the door from swinging and it takes some weight off the hinges. works great

    I was sceptical but this really works! Door is stronger and more stable than l thought for 125 lbs. I started by 30 sec hangs, scapular pulls and eccentrics--3-5 reps, 4-6 x every day and in 3 weeks did 1 full straight arm pull up from dead hang. Keeps elbows open focus on lats and hollow body positioning. Thanks 👍

    the door pull ups is genius even if u got a bar to train strict form for yourself because u can't sway. also bonus of added forearm work
    so if u got weak forearms or you can't control yourself from swaying or both then door pull ups are for u
    of course they have many disadvantages as well and overall the bar is better (rings even better) but you get the idea

      First Name Are these door pullups harder than regular pullups? Cause I can do negatives for reps with strict form but always get stuck in the starting position where you depress your scapula and initiate a pull up

    • @firstname3255
      @firstname3255 6 лет назад

      ebony black Door pullups are all I di, but I think so yes. Do negatives while ciunting to 10 as you go down, do the counting slowly. Do as many as you can. Keep trying to get full pullups as you progress.

    Also, look for a door that has 3 hinges. Solid vs a hollow door. I use my doors for pullups. Lifeline sells little things that allow a palms facing you grip for chins on a door. A DIY person can make them too. The door pullups are a great way to do pullups when staying in a hotel.

      *****
      Haha I agree thats why I made this vid. If people can't secure the door or understand that its not safe enough by just testing it out then they should probably not exercise at all after all any kind of exercise has risks , people might as well stay at home and not do anything .

      HomeMade Muscles yea for sure. Its good u giving people ideas to workout and not make excuses. I know some doors that r strong enough to def hold peoples weight. Or if someone has 2 doors across from each other. u can grab the top of the door frames and do neutral grip pullups... if the door strong enough of course...

    I remember when i used to be able to do pull ups few years ago, i would do pull ups using the door frame with my fingers as the anchor to pull. It would hurt my fingers, but it was convenient. I have never done this in my home, only in public.

  • @samirbenkherourou9125

    I tried the door frame when was younger maybe 13-17, the frame was so small and it is very hard to make a firm grim, unlike having an actual bar.
    Now, I try to use the fist method, the door. I figured it out before seeing you video :) it is hard, and you can't do any variations, while with the actual pull bar, you can target many muscles, and do tons of exercises.
    I live in a hired house, so I can't make a pull bar or modify anything in that house.
    Thanks for the vid :).

      +HomeMade Muscles You're welcome man :)
      And between, I really wish I'll be able to do all the exercises like you. I wasn't able to do one single rep of the dragon flag :D But I intend to practise till I'll b able to do any exercise, like the planche push up, and the one arm push up too. Do you happen to know for instance how much time it'll take me to get to that level?

    • @BodyweightMuscle
      @BodyweightMuscle  9 лет назад

      hmm , well that's a difficult question to answer since it depends a lot. Planche pushups are really hard! I would say 2.5-3.5 years of consistent focused training.

    • @samirbenkherourou9125
      @samirbenkherourou9125 9 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your reply and estimation. I will try my best anyways. I stopped exercisng for many years, but I intend to train regularly from now on :)
      I've started with the tuck planche push ups, it is extremely hard for me, I do 5 rep :D and to be honest, I cheat in doing it, by not gettng in the right flat position.

    This might sound like stupid question but if you have a low ceiling and there's not enough room for a proper pull up is it any less effective to do them with your heels up like at 1:25?

      @@luisibanez3180 i never tried them on normal bar on the gym
      You know on the door ur body is straight and u can't engage your abs properly
      I think when i back to the gym i can do more than 4

      main kayn you definitely should feel a lot lighter when ever you try pull-ups on the normal bar cus you have a better grip from doing door pull-ups since it’s works on your forearms too

    Or use the bars at your local playground. "Move away. I'm old enough to be your dad."
