Thanks alotttt, the one door method helped greatly. At first i thought i was going to brek the door and my mom was kick my ass, but then i did 3 pullups. From there on i did 5 then more and more, thankyou this helped me very much, thanks.
I was sceptical but this really works! Door is stronger and more stable than l thought for 125 lbs. I started by 30 sec hangs, scapular pulls and eccentrics--3-5 reps, 4-6 x every day and in 3 weeks did 1 full straight arm pull up from dead hang. Keeps elbows open focus on lats and hollow body positioning. Thanks 👍
I just moved to a house where the door frames look like they'd snap if i hung a pull-up bar from them. The first 2 door alternatives u showed were pretty clever🤔!!!
"In your addict..." I lost it, I loved when you put the picture and then cut back to you looking where you edited it in. I love when people can make humor out of their mistakes, I can't stand people that get all defensive when they make a mistake.
the door pull ups is genius even if u got a bar to train strict form for yourself because u can't sway. also bonus of added forearm work so if u got weak forearms or you can't control yourself from swaying or both then door pull ups are for u of course they have many disadvantages as well and overall the bar is better (rings even better) but you get the idea
First Name Are these door pullups harder than regular pullups? Cause I can do negatives for reps with strict form but always get stuck in the starting position where you depress your scapula and initiate a pull up
ebony black Door pullups are all I di, but I think so yes. Do negatives while ciunting to 10 as you go down, do the counting slowly. Do as many as you can. Keep trying to get full pullups as you progress.
Also, look for a door that has 3 hinges. Solid vs a hollow door. I use my doors for pullups. Lifeline sells little things that allow a palms facing you grip for chins on a door. A DIY person can make them too. The door pullups are a great way to do pullups when staying in a hotel.
They have other good quality stuff too. I have used their equipment for years. Good value products. www.lifelinefitness.com/store//products/ProductDetail.php?ProductID=697
+HomeMade Muscles These special handles can also be used for ab work leg raises , with your back against a door. Very different than floating in air. Enjoy...
Great videos mate! I never thought about outdoor stairs! Other survivor alternatives that I have tried are : under a solid table/using a tree/using tree protectors/children playgrounds/banisters.. Keep it up!
***** Haha I agree thats why I made this vid. If people can't secure the door or understand that its not safe enough by just testing it out then they should probably not exercise at all after all any kind of exercise has risks , people might as well stay at home and not do anything . Hey I answered your previous comment also in case you missed it, I just quoted your name because youtube did not allow me to reply
HomeMade Muscles yea for sure. Its good u giving people ideas to workout and not make excuses. I know some doors that r strong enough to def hold peoples weight. Or if someone has 2 doors across from each other. u can grab the top of the door frames and do neutral grip pullups... if the door strong enough of course...
hey i start pull up in quarantine i cant do any rep so i start them on door and a week later i manage to do one clear pullup so my question is when i go to the gym its gonna be easier doing them on normal bar (so i can to increase my reps or its the same difficulties)
I remember when i used to be able to do pull ups few years ago, i would do pull ups using the door frame with my fingers as the anchor to pull. It would hurt my fingers, but it was convenient. I have never done this in my home, only in public.
I tried the door frame when was younger maybe 13-17, the frame was so small and it is very hard to make a firm grim, unlike having an actual bar. Now, I try to use the fist method, the door. I figured it out before seeing you video :) it is hard, and you can't do any variations, while with the actual pull bar, you can target many muscles, and do tons of exercises. I live in a hired house, so I can't make a pull bar or modify anything in that house. Thanks for the vid :).
+HomeMade Muscles You're welcome man :) And between, I really wish I'll be able to do all the exercises like you. I wasn't able to do one single rep of the dragon flag :D But I intend to practise till I'll b able to do any exercise, like the planche push up, and the one arm push up too. Do you happen to know for instance how much time it'll take me to get to that level?
hmm , well that's a difficult question to answer since it depends a lot. Planche pushups are really hard! I would say 2.5-3.5 years of consistent focused training.
Thanks for your reply and estimation. I will try my best anyways. I stopped exercisng for many years, but I intend to train regularly from now on :) I've started with the tuck planche push ups, it is extremely hard for me, I do 5 rep :D and to be honest, I cheat in doing it, by not gettng in the right flat position.
For those who think that this type of pull up will break the door, think twice, maybe your door is too weak to handle you or your door is made from paper
I wouldn't do the door methods :o Stairs, balcony "chin up" bars in parks, side of a staircase (like a wall you grip yourself on top) I screwed a bally total fitness doorway chin up bar. I was curious what methods people use when they don't have a bar
I did the door frame one and a week of doing it the sealing collapsed and now my house is getting fixed.ps I got grounded(and May or may not of got hit)
hah an addict lol - ill defo start using a door, i didnt think of it before, i just used the door frame and i got blisters on my fingers every time lol thanks
I have alternative #2 but people tell me you should do that because it could snap. Personally i don't think that's true because the wood is pretty thick but yeh.
I am 5'9 and I have a 7 or 8 ft door but somehow I still manage to do pull ups on it without even using a towel or gloves. All I do is wedge a textbook under the door and then I start my pulls ups.
Hello crew. I just like to know if doing door frame pull ups is just as effective as perform on a regular pull up bar? I mean working muscles such as back biceps forearms?
Unfortunately, at my weight (nearly 400lbs) the door option would be....dangerous...I doubt that the hollow doors in my house could support my weight, I don't even think the hinges could support my weight.
This might sound like stupid question but if you have a low ceiling and there's not enough room for a proper pull up is it any less effective to do them with your heels up like at 1:25?

does door pull up harder then normal bar ?
Can you do a video on how to repair the door when your done.
options7377 a no screw pull up bar is a lot cheaper than a door replacement
wedge a shoe tightly underneath the outer edge of the door. keeps the door from swinging and it takes some weight off the hinges. works great
gold joke hahaha
Hahahahhaha epic roast
u don't
Guess who just grounded for ripping my door off the hinges!!! THIS GUY
You made my day :)
The door probably cracked off, and you thought "Oh. Crap." Just my guess ;P
Must be awkward to be grounded in your room without a door...or was it a different door?
hahahaha sorry
My door is about 7 feet tall and I am 5'9 but somehow I can still do pull ups on it.
doing them out of a window ledge is good good motivation if you get what I mean;)
sure, I wouldn't recommend it though :p
Lol I do this on my 2nd floor room. It's actually pretty cool!

+Josey Wales Yeeeeah, my house has no doors anymore.......
I was about to comment this. I'm 6'2 180. That ain't that big but I just went to attempt one on it and you can hear the hinges about to buckle lmfao.
correct... thank you for writing it before I did.
I have been utilizing this method for about a week and my door has not been impaired.

+Cody Guerrero Hi, yes, go to 1:02
I also did the same XD

Hey Supperman, making fun of yourself is essential if you want to take life easy :)
Definitely. I try my best to do so when I can,
the door pull ups is genius even if u got a bar to train strict form for yourself because u can't sway. also bonus of added forearm work

+Emir Catovic yup, agree
Emir EC Now I know why I feel my forearms first when I first started, and why I cant do more then a few pullups at a time.

Great content. Very inspiring !!!👏👏👏
The stair idea was genius.Subscribed.Thanks,from Brazil.
Too risky, I just can see a massive playlist of youtube fail compilations of people trying this ones!
A pull up bar then would be a wise choice for you ;)
hahaha, I can see alot of hurt people too, BUT if u have a strong door, it is better than nothing
