About the Director:
Yinghui Fu is a writer-director based in Shanghai, China. Yinghui earned her PhD in systems engineering before discovering her passion for filmmaking. Now, she explores diverse topics and genres through a distinctly humanistic point-of-view in her films. Her two latest narrative shorts, "Natalie" and "Honour Thy Mother", were shot in Prague, Czech Republic. Yinghui is currently developing her first feature.

I don't get it. Did she stay away longer than she expected and her mother die of a broken heart? When she came back, her mother was already dead for a very long time and she was living the guilt. Is that what it is?

Mother likes to preach. But she clearly doesn't like cleaning. Great film. Love the acting and storyline and scenes.

I like it but not sure of it's meaning
I think it means that she left home a lot of times due to Mom's upbringing, wanting to be out in the world and coming back always expecting her mom to be there with open arms,but the one time she did, mom was gone and she probably needed and wanted her more than ever and was too late
I'm kinda up in the air with this one. It seems more like a drama than a horror short I guess the ending is the horror part I mean it was okay

Horror isn’t only about gore, screams, and thrills. This touched on very different and deeper aspects of horror.
That music at the end was just beautiful and haunting. Loved it.

“HOLEY SHITE😳” !! This “short film”, gave me MAJOR “(The) SHINING”✨”VIBES🫨”!! “Situations”, that🗣️CAN AND DO…(STILL) happen IN “REAL LIFE”!!🫢While the “lighting” WAS a little too dark, in some scenes…I STILL LOVED IT!!💖 IMHO🙏🏻…it was BRILLIANT🌟; AND “BRILLIANTLY DONE”…ALL-AROUND💫💞!!

I liked this. I loved the camera work, the lighting, acting, etc it all built an eerie and kind of desolate feeling atmosphere.

I didnt get it.
the movie is too ambigious, does it mean she came back and her mother was a ghost or did she have a mental illness and living in a unkept home for years as all the leaves in the rooms shows . I can go on to find many other reasons . the movie was not thougth out well and more clues should been putin so we know what exactly happened
Sorry to say this, but if mom were a truly God fearing woman, the story wouldn’t have ended up this spooky. 😂

English hearing impaired subtitle please.
Masterpiece
Please would you share with me what takeaway you had from it that you liked it so much. I'm puzzled and feel like I'm missing something that makes it a masterpiece for me. I have a hard time processing it and putting it all together without having an audio description track for the blind/visually impaired. Even if you can get someone else to give input and describe what info can't be gleamed by just processing a work with only audio and your own intuitively derived awareness and prior knowledge. When you ask another person for help describing what is visually occurring, you get the info filtered through what they think and perceive is occurring, but while speaking about the visual data, the info will be delayed, and often it will start overlapping, and their description wiĺl be spoken over the actual audio dialogue of the work itself. It is just thst they aren't trained, or have the awareness of how critical it is to give succinct, meaningful only, non biased, visual information. On any of the big streaming platforms, they all have less than a fourth of their content available with an audio description option, and that's only for films from 2019-ish onwards. And from there, the odds get smaller for finding English language audio described options. None of the foreign films that are dubbed in English have an English audio description. They will have the option for the original language only. And the smallest amount of movies with audio description are horror. All of the older content, in any genre, all the classics, etc. do not have any available options for audio description
