Wondering if I should do this since mine all of a sudden goes to da ground n I changed break wheel cylinders in da rear where da leak was. You think it’ll fix it or do I have another issue?
Bro i just started having a problem with my obs when ever i step on the brake pedal it makes an air buzzing noise and its getting kinda hard to step on to im not sure if its the booster or the cylinder.
Well... did it work? Did it cure the feeling of stepping on a marshmallow? On mine I believe it is the ABS pump. I've seen a lot of videos where people go ham on masters, calipers, brakes, wheel cylinders all to still have the squishy feeling. The master doesn't drift or "vibrate" when depressing the brake, and the brakes engage and dont pull so its not like its a stuck caliper or wheel cylinder. The only thing left is the pump. At least I hope that is what it is because it cost 100 bucks. lol.

hi man, how is the pedal feel after the swap? is it too soft? meaning does it bite on the brakes with a little push? would you wish it is a bit more harder? or is it just right? I have a vacuum booster too. this master cylinder you're showing has 1.33" bore size which fits vaccum boosters. just wondering what if I put a 1.45" master cylinder that is usually labeled for hydroboost? the bigger the bore size the harder the pedal feel gets. would you recommend to try it? thx alot for the video!
Thanks for the comment and I feel the pedal firm now with less motion to stop witch is like night and day compared the the stock master and I am upgrading the brakes lines just to get it to bite a little more but to answer your question typically smaller bore diameter’s means there’s less fluid for it to travel through and bigger bore diameter’s give you more fluid volume making the pedal softer and less responsive I hope that answers ur question thanks for watching I appreciate
Yea it’s still on there but yes I am deleting it as well I just about ready for the LS swap and I will also be doing some suspension work and deleting the abs

After the swap was done I had a friend come over and did manual bleeding on all four wheels and the module not much of a charge for me but I did it anyway... thanks for watching
Same master cylinder can be used if you add rear discs.
Yes sir same master can be used with rear disc !
That year NBS came with both drum and disc brakes in the rear and it’s the same master cylinder !
Awesome presentation. How did you drain your master cylinder, use a bulb syringe?
Thanks bro …. I used an old plastic medicine kid syringe to drain it and the some old rags to get the rest …. Thanks for watching bro 👊🏼
Just saw your Video, I was wondering could I do this on a 96 GMC Sierra Extended Cab? Everything Looks the same? Thanks!
Yes you can every thing is the same it works on 88-98 Chevy OBS
What is the empty sensor plug for? Just did the swap to my 89. Thanks.
You can take it off it’s for the low brake fluid sensor
@@LowLifeYonkes thank you
Good video I'm learning, it's good for a Chevy Silverado 1994 ,k1500?
Yes it works perfect 👌🏼 thanks for watching bro
Awesome video. 2 questions though. Did you have to bleed your brakes lines after at? Also does this fit the 94 model also?
Nope I didn’t bleed them after I’m a 1 man team most days and yea worked out well thank you for watching bro👊🏼
Yea it will fit
Will the SHORT Master Cylinder work in place of the OEM style 1991silverado ???
Yes it will
If I get the brake bleeder tool I can bleed the brakes by myself ?
Yea u can bleed it urself if u buy the bleeder tool
I have a 94 350 TBI. will what you have in this video work for me. And what year master cylinder do i need?
Yes it will work all the parts you need are in the description box with links thank you for watching I appreciate it
I'm gonna switch to the Long travel Master Cyl ...Large Resv. tank from Other videos to get POWER BRAKES Back.
Ok let me know how it goes 👍🏼
Do i need to delete my ABS in order to install the NBS master brake cylinder? As i have 99 GMC suburban.
No you don’t need to delete it but it does work better if you do
Did u do that on the truck with the hood up if so what year model was it i have to do this on my 97 Silverado
Yea the hood was up kinda strange question but yea it’s a 98 c1500
@@LowLifeYonkes i figured it was that truck my guy wasn't trying to be on no weird shit thanks for the info
@@DeediLee ok glad I could help thanks for watching bro
Wondering if I should do this since mine all of a sudden goes to da ground n I changed break wheel cylinders in da rear where da leak was. You think it’ll fix it or do I have another issue?
Sound like u need to bleed all 4 corners and see where your at after that
@@LowLifeYonkes already bleed, changed wheel cylinders n bleed n pedal still goes to da floor
Sounds like the brake booster
Bro i just started having a problem with my obs when ever i step on the brake pedal it makes an air buzzing noise and its getting kinda hard to step on to im not sure if its the booster or the cylinder.
What year is it
94
Will this work with a master cylinder out of a 2004 Chevy 2500hd? I have one from that truck
No the fittings are different it won’t work I don’t think but you can try let me know how it goes …. Thanks for watching
Well... did it work? Did it cure the feeling of stepping on a marshmallow? On mine I believe it is the ABS pump. I've seen a lot of videos where people go ham on masters, calipers, brakes, wheel cylinders all to still have the squishy feeling. The master doesn't drift or "vibrate" when depressing the brake, and the brakes engage and dont pull so its not like its a stuck caliper or wheel cylinder. The only thing left is the pump. At least I hope that is what it is because it cost 100 bucks. lol.
Yes it worked for me the brake pedal feels firm and grabs quicker than before no more squishy feeling .... after I was done with the install I had a friend come over and we manually bled the system and the abs unit as well it’s been working great ever since.... I’m actually getting ready to do agin to my other OBS 2 door Tahoe ... thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@LowLifeYonkes My next step will be abs delete using this setup. Thanks for the instruction. :)
Yes that’s my next move too lol I will post a video soon on how I do it
@@LowLifeYonkes Just wanted to come back to say with the new abs module and proper bleeding its a little better. At least I am not afraid to drive it now. But still not the greatest and I will be doing this upgrade. I am curious what these felt like when they were new. I used a power bleeder and like a gallon of fluid to be sure there was no air. lol. Have a good one.
Can I used that master cylinder on my 99 Cadillac escalade, 99 gmc Yukon ?
If it’s and OBS platform with no hydro boost yes you can use it
Man I did this and I still have weird brakes idk what it is at this point nun of my breaks leak and I bleed them
Did you bleed your abs ?
I cant get the 2nd (rear) line in for the life of me i really need this truck going but it just won’t happen
The rear one is the easy one it should thread right in bro
Does yours have a proportioning valve? Cus mine does. So idk if it would work with this mod.
No mine does not have one but my boy Chris has an 88 OBS and he does have a proportioning valve and it works on his as well
@@LowLifeYonkes ok cool thanks for the reply. I’m gonna have to try out this mod cus I’ve replaced almost everything and the brake is still spongy. Even sets off my brake light. Someone even told me that it could be the proportioning valve. Should I replace that as well? It got to the point where the brake sank almost to the floor 🙄
Try the master bro and if u have an abs module delete that shit bro it’s garbage 🗑
Buy it from Amazon free returns 😂
@@LowLifeYonkes im gonna try that and also delete the abs since you’re not the first to tell me to delete it. Thanks for the tips bro! #keepthemontheroad
Would this setup work on my 89 ovs k2500? It says it wouldn't fit but I just want to make sure before I buy it
Yea it should work they are all pretty much the same there is a few that are different but u should be fine thanks for watching
@@LowLifeYonkes no worries thank you boss, just didn't want to spend the money and not be able to use it
Buy it from Amazon free returns 😂
@@LowLifeYonkes just ordered it. Gonna install it mon
I just got an 89 k2500, did you install this and if so, how easy was it and what are your thoughts on it?
Will this work for a 1997 2500 with a hydraulic booster?
No it will not sorry
hi man, how is the pedal feel after the swap? is it too soft? meaning does it bite on the brakes with a little push? would you wish it is a bit more harder? or is it just right?
Did you bleed the abs?
Yes bleed all line and the abs unit
Threads on fitting came apart and started to leak
I have never heard that happening might have over tightened it
@@LowLifeYonkes bought a second one and it worked but is this upgrade work for drum brakes in the rear ?
@@johnaceves6398 yes it works perfectly
@@LowLifeYonkes thanks for answering
@@johnaceves6398 thank you for watching and the comment bro I appreciate it
Did you keep the ABS if so, why? I hear a lot of people deleting this
Yea it’s still on there but yes I am deleting it as well I just about ready for the LS swap and I will also be doing some suspension work and deleting the abs
@@LowLifeYonkes If you could do a how to video on the ABS delete that would be great!
Did you have to bleed the ABS?
Nope just the master cylinder
DID Your Upgrade Master Cylinder Work ????? HOW Did It Work ????????
Yes it’s work very good I have done this to more than 5 Chevrolet trucks
@@LowLifeYonkes Mine is a 1991 silverado STD cab 5.7L
Did you do the abs delete?
No I haven’t done that yet
Great video, what yr of NBS works with 89 OBS?
The links to the parts are in the description box below thanks for watching bro 👊🏼
@jkbrown72 yes
Right on!
Will it fit a 96 obs? It says on the Amazon link it won't fit
Yea it will it’s a NBS master cylinder so it’s not made for the OBS but yes this is an upgrade huge difference in braking power
@@LowLifeYonkes mad respect for the reply. Love your obs sir! I've replaced my front right caliper on multiple occasions. It keeps failing and I replaced the hose too. Spongy pedal as well so I think I'm just going replace the master cylinder and bleed everything because it can't be the caliper every time.
@@kennethheadden2229 yea this is definitely the way to go bro I have a few other OBS trucks this is the first thing I do every time
Did u have to bleed the brake lines .??
No I didn’t do it at first because I did it by myself but yes later I did bleed all the brake lines with some help from a friend
Is this truck a v8 or v6 ?
It was a v6 4.3L now it’s LS swamped v8 5.3L
That Dormann part # came back to a MS with/out a resivour tank. ?????

Yes everything work as it should I have had so many people do this with no problems …. You have a different issue
No need to bench bleed the master?
You can but it was easier for me to do it on the truck when I mounted it
The brakes on my 93 OBS are horrible.
I should do this!
Yes you need this 💯%
I bought the master cylinder and my mechanic said it doesn’t fit
He didn’t even bolt it up
