its got lasers in this cartoon too, in the arms. It's been..well, 5 months apparently, since I watched this but I seem to recall the guy running out of ammo for them all the time. I like it too, I run it with Clan weapons to lighten the load and get better results (which I figure is legit, draconis fights Rasalhague/Ghost Bear all the time). 2 x ER Large Laser, 4 x UAC 2, 2 x Clan LRM 10's, if I recall properly. Makes it a great long range command mech. What is the WPG?
the story seemed kind of messy and confusing to me. I suppose that was the idea, to make their world plunge in to chaos...but it didnt have the awe of the houses battling it out, or combining to take on the clans. I really have to agreethat the WoB era isnt as appealing as the other story arcs. I was refering to my MW4 Mercs set up, actually, since the Mauler is fairly cheap and reliable with weapons spread out, instead of say.. the Daishi, who loses 50% weapons with the loss of an arm.
there been rumors of a live action movie since 2000 but it appeals nobody had any interest in of taking on the project itself. With the serval movies in recent memory could it be done yea, but the question is a studio willing to put the money to making a proper battletech movie.
@onigojira Its because it is heavily loaded with missiles and autocannon... --- The Mauler is great in the video game... but I don't like it in the WPG
they definately should. however since everyone prefers japanese cartoons over cartoons from other parts of the world all of a sudden, it's propably not gonna happen.
@onigojira --- Warplaying game: What you've already been doing :P... --- I just haven't finished out the... customization aspects of the MegaMek software... but I don't much like autocannon for ammo cost. --- I also really don't like the last story arc, with Word of Blake and Devlin Stone and such. I prefer the clan wars and the succession wars...
@TheLackofattack Yeah, you'd need a young leading man foor Adam, and he need not be Americain. With the technology of today one can make the Mecha's look imposeing and sceary without maling them look silly.
I think what happened was that the quality of the writing ALSO really suffered. I also didn't like the addition of dozens of new and over powered Mechs and battle armors. Lacks grits. --- Arms are really useless in the video games... but the ability to aim (point blank) is very useful when playing pen & papper
Did he just swipe a credit card to call in an artillery strike? Freakin' Pay2Win...
I love how the Mauler in this series is ALWAYS running out of ammo, even with lasers.

I remember recording this episode as a kid. I bet I watched it a dozen times. I was so stoked for season 2 which never came. ahhh.. such good times.
@ajferet i hear you, there were still stories to be told if they kept the 2nd star league instead of ending after 9 years?
I'm wondering when, and if, they're gonna make any new Battletech cartoons....
sad this ended on a huge cliffhanger
what have I missed out on here ? :D
Ken Watanabe as Theodore Kurita
Two best mechs I ever used in the dice game were the Blackknight and the Thug little old school but deadly long live Clan Wolf

@TheLackofattack Who'd you have star in it?
The bushwacker pilot is such a potato.
hahaha maybe laser using juice?
@TheLackofattack I think I played a demo of that! That could be the sequal!

@TheLackofattack Wouldn't know that one. I only just know this show from my childhood.
7:28 (gasp), did Rachel Specter survive?!
Battletech-Giant Robots as it should be. ;)
they definately should. however since everyone prefers japanese cartoons over cartoons from other parts of the world all of a sudden, it's propably not gonna happen.

He'd be great and Sam Worthington as Adam.... I don't really see him as very American as a character.
Probably not as its not "Popular" by current Media Standards also if it ever was made it would suck absolute balls.
More like Chuck Norris Kylee am I right? :P
