I've been noticing that too. I guess they had different people working on each scene and decided that redrawing the scene was too expensive and time consuming
to show how bad it was in the inner sphere at the time of the clans attack. Notice the clans are all neat and tidy while the spheroids are tattered and messy.
for anyone noticing wrong things the makers of the original battletech tabletop game call the cartoon existing in canon of battletech has fedcom anti-clan propaganda for the reasons stuff deviates from what players of the tabletop game and the mechwarrior games know what really go on.
