I love the implication that the only reason he's alive is that they chose to execute him with a weapon made from the ONE material that he can telekinetically manipulate. It's like someone deciding to execute Magneto by _firing squad,_ but somehow even more ironic.
First encounter I had with this guy was at the turtle pope’s location. I thought Elemer actually killed Miriel, so I was fighting with reckless abandon and rage. Happily, that was not the case but the sense of anger I felt will always stay with me.
first time i found him was at Bernahl’s, as I didn’t realize he showed up at night. He destroyed me, and I left confused and not knowing how to fight him again. Now knowing he and other bosses appear at night, I’ve beaten him at Bernahl’s and Miriel’s, but especially Miriel, that poor turtle deserves better then to have this maniac wandering in his church

Honestly the tarnished of no renown is terrifying for the sole fact that all these grand beings with equally grand history and skill are all of a sudden just…killed by a nobody. They just walk in one day, dodge all your attacks and kill you. Or you kill them and then they just pop back up a dozen times before killing you.
That's basically how these souls games usually go. The protagonist is mainly just some quiet seamless insignificant looking person that ends up being the most powerful being in the world.
That’s the beauty of growing more powerful somebody out there just being born or alive can just end you like that 😭 even our character is going to met the same fate eventually
It also must be noted that you came to this land SPECIFICALLY to become Elden Lord. You are a prospective conqueror, and there's a very good reason why most people try to kill you and your kind on sight.

Did an Arcane/strength playthrough just to wield the Marais Executioner's Sword. I find it interesting that Elemer is able to control the blade telekinetically despite it not being made of the curious copper colored metal of his homeland.

A very similar thing happened to Ganondorf in Zelda: Twilight Princess. He was set to be executed, but instead took the sword and killed his executioner before being banished.

What doesnt make sense is that the sword has thorns and looks magical with some lights, did he really didnt take any other weapon and even decorated it with thorns? Why?
@@abrahamrangel2326the same could be asked of his armour. Why not remove the thorns or get new pieces? Perhaps he felt some kind of connection to the blade when he seized it with his will. Maybe he just keeps it to symbolically embrace his identity as a guilty who defied the justice of the order, turning the blade against them Anyone who sees his armour or weapons knows exactly who he is and will be struck with fear because of the legend surrounding him.
The Bell Bearing hunters were always badass to me, especially since they bear close resemblance to the Penitent One, pair it with the Blasphemous blade that looks like the Mea Culpa and it’s a good cosplay
I always had a feeling that the way the Eochaid blade is described, the way it looks, and the ways Elemer is tied in was a reference to the Greeks and more specifically, Sparta.
One of my favorite boss and mini boss of this game, it’s armor, lore, armament are all so intriguing to me and was excited to use the executioner blade for myself, thinking I’d be able to wield it just like him but was dissapointed on how little versatility it gave, hopefully there’s an overhaul mod for the weapon soon

He was the only boss that had me switching combat styles, since I like to get range then quickly close it, he beat my ass at close range and beat it harder if I gained distance.

This was brilliant lol. Didn’t think a video short could be a masterpiece until I watched this. The writing is very well done and timed. Framing Elemar as like a protagonist and then shutting it down by using us as the player (tarnished) as the real main character. Pretty brilliant lol.
On my first playthrough, I didn't even fight the spirit versions of him until I'd already beaten the game. I had no idea about the other night time bosses either until I looked it up.
Eochaid is one of my favorite little lore bits. Considering the description of the Marais Executioner's sword and the shared weapon arts with the Regalia of Eochaid, I can only conclude this was a land of Irish Jedi.
Man, after the video about the "soul ball" in the anus that the headless demons in Sekiro rip out of you and associating it with the Dung Eater... I can't help but feel like the "bell bearing" might be the butt-soul of the merchants. I guess it would make sense that they would cover him in briars for that, the Erdtree will not be denied.
Eochaid is a name of Gaelic origin. It's the name of many Kings and high Kings of Ireland, and some Kings in Scotland. The etymology means 'horse'. The limited lore of Eochaid and the style of Elemer's armour seems to suggest that Eochaid has Rome or Sparta for its inspiration, and possibly Celtic because of the name too.
It’s really specific scenarios you have to trigger for one to spawn. There are 3, one spawns where the turtle pope is, the other spawns where Garl is in limgrave, and the 3rd is in a hut deeper in Caelid next to a merchant. You have to turn it to nighttime at these huts, then rest again at the grace, then the bell bearing hunter will spawn when you exit the hut. You’ll know you’ve done this right when you’re resting at the grace and the NPC your with disappears

Beat the game multiple times I’ve never ran into this guy ever , other than beating the “ real him “ at shaded castle.
It’s really specific scenarios you have to trigger for one to spawn. There are 3, one spawns where the turtle pope is, the other spawns where Garl is in limgrave, and the 3rd is in a hut deeper in Caelid next to a merchant. You have to turn it to nighttime at these huts, then rest again at the grace, then the bell bearing hunter will spawn when you exit the hut. You’ll know you’ve done this right when you’re resting at the grace and the NPC your with disappears
