The first two minutes of this reminds me of a pre-calculus teacher I had… everyone thought she was a terrible teacher and she was widely disliked. After some time, she changed our homework and forced us to do chapter outlines and copy examples from the book. I realized that she wasn’t terrible, but she was so smart that she didn’t understand how the students couldn’t understand the material. Essentially, she was too smart to understand our stupidity. lol 😂 She became one of my favorite teachers and I did very well in her class.

Charlotte Mason, a revolutionary educator, taught the importance of copywork, as well as narration. The idea is that the acts of copying, and reciting, and then putting those copies into our own words (either verbally, or written) is essential to learning anything.
This concept is often missed in maths. Very often, math is taught as a formula or concept, and then immediately crosses over into practical application.
Students would do very well to spend time in copying examples and memorizing them first, then narrating what they understand about those examples, and finally moving on to applying those concepts to new equations.
It sounds like your teacher either knew this, or was learning it.

44:00 as a service man who has worn several different uniforms, over multiple decades of conflict, I remember when we were told Sadam was the new Hitler and that Osama was the new Hitler, and most recently that Trump was worse than hitler… I never considered that those actually going to fight Hitler didn’t see him as any worse than any other historic enemy.
Today, our military seems to be returning to a dispassionate professionalism, but I have noticed over the last four years that there is a (for lack of a better word) negative side to the stoicism I see around me. “It is what it is,” is said by all parties from all walks of life, combined with many doing all that they can to max out their disability from military service (as opposed to leaving for those in truly dire need).
Anyways, it’s a weird time for me.

    Matthew 25: 1-13
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

I read this book, back when I was trying to remain an evangelical and believe in the Bible’s inspiration. But much of this book is about what’s terrible about the Psalms, and how we need to not agree with much of what we find there.
I agreed, and I admired Lewis’s honesty. But that’s why they’re NOT inspired, and should be rejected, except as a document of what’s frequently wrong, and often dangerous, about fervently religious people.

Be angry on your bed a lot of David psalms were human emotion yet God said David was a man of his own heart. God thought many times of destroying us himself and his anger is justified but thank God for his lovely mercy on our human weakness and that he Judges our hearts not our mind.

What has CS Lewis to do with Orthodox Depot? None of his books are listed. He was protestant not orthodox. This is just clickbait to get income for Orthodox to pay for a monastery restoration.

That was not being said to you, lol. The Bible is a book that came out several hundreds of years after the original letters were written, personal letters to individuals then and not to us. Just because the mistranslated letters were put into book form ,left in the present tense and you can hold it,does not mean it is to us or for us. King James,Constantine, and Rome, all murderers put together this book ,not having the original letters and Christians who never work through the massive translation errors sometimes know the book, but never the original truth. Why ,how can you take words like,we,me,you, they, those,us, and pretend it refers to you in a book with supposed 2000 year old letters in it. How can you lie to people and tell them that they need to repent still after 2000 years without taking anything in context, and frankly without knowing one thing about what the book says. You see things like ,all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and automatically pretend that it has to be for people living 2000 years after the letters were written. You see the command to repent, written almost 2000 years ago and do the same. You read it all as if it were to you and take nothing into context. Your book tells you plainly that sin was the trespass of the law. You were never ever under the law. Never. Your book tells you plainly that Jesus came to save those under the law from the curse of the law and you in the imitation church could not care less about the fact that we were never under the law ,and that even if we had been ,that sin,law and call old covenant was nailed to the cross and the new covenant came. We are not even included in the new. Jeremiah 31:31. Jesus himself said that he came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and what do "Christians" do? They let weak men who know nothing of truth twist and turn the Bible into their own doctrine and yell amen all day to it. Not one doctrine of the modern imitation church does not violate other portions of the Bible. None. If your book says Jesus came only to Israel and you and your false teachers do not like it,you change it. When you see that sin was nailed to the cross, and when you see that Jesus came to put away sin ,you say it's a lie. You take 2000 year old letters addressed to people 2000 years ago and pretend it's to you. You see where Jesus will spend forever on the throne of David over the house of Jacob and never ask why we are not there with him. There is a reason and that reason is opposite all doctrine that you believe ,because you despise truth for religion. "He came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel". You,you say it's a lie,yet you say you believe, lol. How in the world ,when at the same time Jesus was dying on the cross for those under the law to save them from the curse of the law,and he was also dying to reconcile mankind then could people now be unreconciled and need to repent of sin that was the trespass of the law and sin that Jesus put away? How when your book says that the Vail was torn in two, signifying that the curse of the garden was lifted ,and signifying that the way was made clear again for fellowship with God,for communion with God ,can you sit and say that none of it occurred ,yet say you believe? None, none of that was to us or for us. The way was opened back up then, sin was put away then, the old covenant ended then and we were not even under it as well as we are not under new. You,in the fake church can see also that the great commission was given to the apostles then, the true church then, and that they, not you were told that after the gospel was taken to the world the end would come. Well the gospel went to the world,Colossians 1, yet you say the end did not come and instead make up a fake futuristic world wide cataclysmic even for the future ,when the true end was talking of the end of the old covenant, the destruction of Jerusalem, and destruction of the temple then. Jesus tells his disciples ,not you ,what to look for right before his return. All ,and absolutely all of it occurred in 66-70 ad when Rome destroyed Jerusalem, raped their women and girls, surrounded them and dug a trench about them, starved them until they resorted to eating their children, and starving thousands upon thousands. Why do you let wicked men take what Jesus said would happen in Matthew 24,Luke 21,and Mark 13 and twist into something futuristic just because other wicked men left the Bible in present tense? Why are you still pretending the gospel was given to you to take to the world when Jesus said his day was the day when all things written would be fulfilled and even after sin was put away, nailed to the cross ,after reconciliation, after the curse was lifted, and you the fake church want to pretend that you are the chosen generation. You ,who gave not one resemblance of believers in Jesus day,and you are the church? Jesus said ,these signs will follow those that believe. They will speak in tongues that they never learned to take the gospel to the old covenant world, and that was finished. They could drink any deadly poison and not be harmed, handle serpents, heal all manner of illness, and even raise the dead. 44000 denominations across the globe now not agreeing with each other is not the church. Believers then, the true church, could not die until the gospel went forth. The fake church now, easy religion has kept God locked in a mistranslated book for almost 2000 years, pretending He is powerless, that He never did all He said He did in Jesus day,and pretending He is not the same powerful God He has always been. Locked Him in a book and said that nothing He already has done ,has been done. All because a fake church pretend that a book full of 1st century mistranslated personal letters was to them ,for them and about them. Stolen mail. You read the Bible like it was written yesterday. If I found a letter written by someone living in say 1700s ,let's say George Washington, and he had written his wife Martha and said ,Martha,I will be crossing the Delaware soon and look forward to coming home soon. Would I now,in the 2000's rush to go see him cross? That is how you look at the bible. Not to you or for you. God is still God whether you in the imitation church want to play your skit of all that has been fulfilled or not. Sin was put away by Jesus whether you like it or not. Sin was the trespass of the law and was of the flesh, evil which still exists is of the heart. Your book says that God judges the heart. Your book says God is all and in all now.We know good from evil. We have a God conscience. God knows who is His and the only to be able to reveal to mankind whether they are His child. Your fantasy will not last forever. God will ,and you,you in the fake church have yet to even search for Him.

I have a really silly question, but somehow I always forget to ask; is there supposed to an image or something in Lewis' pipe smoke? It just seems like there would be if they were making sure to portray him smoking a pipe, w/ all that smoke. Am I missing something, friends?

I see all this Hell testimonies of people being taken there to tell others it is real ……. But that is not even useful or effective, sowing fear in the hearts of others of hell is the wrong approach,
We need to fear God not hell the idea we send ourselves to hell is not God is not solid, God is the one who sends to hell God is the one who grants forgiveness , we need to seek God out of need and humility not fear of hell
God is terrifying but he is also a strong refuge a peaceful rest a love like none other

I was going to ask if it would be out of line to include God's natural laws along, with his spiritual laws in evoking the praise of the psalmist. But then I heard around 1:35:50 that his laws are as solid as that nature he has created.
