Had my 6 for a few weeks now in Australia. Still watching all these videos around the world because I love the accents/perspectives and differences in the various markets with logo, trim levels/naming etc.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland thank you for asking! I don't think you mentioned the heads up display (HUD) much - it is actually one of my favourite features, especially when navigating unfamiliar roads etc. Note it doesn't work with CarPlay/Android Auto so I rely on the built-in navigation, which is fine enough. You can adjust the brightness and positioning of the HUD. Also not sure if your seat has it, but powered seats for vertical adjustment too for those wanting a better view of the road/car.
I’ve had mine since last week - still figuring out settings but love how it drives- totally different to my Enyaq. Also a lot more efficient - getting near their claimed 420 km range, even at this time of year. It’s showing up averaging around 14 kw/100 km. Admittedly there’s hardly any motorway driving in that I have the Signature trim and though it’s well equipped for a base version it does have a few things missing that should really be on it - no electro chrome rear view mirror , nor Ambient lighting of any sort. Interior is very dark at night , not even footwell lights. It does have heat pump and a heated seats and steering wheel though which Skoda charge lots for. And you get a granny cable thrown in too. I have a black one and love the silver cladding. Most comments are very positive Just like you Derek I’ve been caught out by having forgetting the stop button when I get out. Lots of great tech though.
Congrats Micheal. Great to hear from an owner! It's so efficient. I never mentioned that heat pump comes as standard across the range which is a nice addition that others charge for like you say.
Thanks for this informative video. I'm an I5 AWD owner in Iceland which is a great vehicle for that country - I6 looks a bit low for rough roads and snow, I feel. Certainly sleek and eye-catching, but then again, the I5 was/is eye-catching in its own individual way. Don't think I'll be changing - at least not yet. I will get the chance to try one in June when they finally come to this country.
I'm impressed. Excellent review. Length of review suggests you wanted to get everything across because it is such a good car. Colour makes a difference to looks surprisingly. Like the red. But looks are subjective so if others don't like it I understand. Will have to see it in the flesh to make final decision but it is ahead of ionic 5 imo. Pity not a hatchback. Do the rear seat fold down? This car could impact other brands seriously. Thanks. Des (ireland)
Thanks Des, wanted to get everything across and still missed the following Head-Up Display Heat Pump as standard across the range Rear folding seats in 60/40 split with pull levers at the boot hinges to lower from the boot opening.
Hi what I really wanted to know was the driving comfort / suspension. I drive Ioniq 5 and I don’t like the suspension. Feel all the bumps on Dublin roads. When you said the 6 is even more firm, I was surprised. I was seriously thinking of swapping to the 6 before I knew that
Definitely wouldn’t be apologising for the pronunciation regardless of what the ‘brand’ want themselves now to be called. Phone thing is hilarious. Skoda have that nailed years ago and the fact others don’t provide it is a bit of a joke in 2023. Beautiful car. Be very interesting given the prices they are looking for.
When Hyundai entered the US market, their advertising campaign included educating on the proper pronunciation of Hyundai as "Hun-day" similar to Sunday.
There is a video on RUclips in which a Korean lady explains the correct pronunciation of Hyundai. It is easy. It is pronounced like we say Sunday (Hunday) it the USA.
Jaysus.........€70k for a Hyundai. Please leave the grant out of the pricing information. Business users don't get a grant. These EV's are on average working out between €20k to €30k dearer than what we would have payed for a nice, well specc'd, medium sized car with a 2.0ltr Daysel ( Superb, Passat, Mondeo) Very informative video ......as usual.
I have an Ioniq 6 and i like the button placement but take a moment to pity a family that has a 5 and 6 where the drivers regularly change which vehicle they drive.
imo the Ioniq 6 has all the good ingredients for the kind of car I'd love. Put it on more of a diet, fix the boot and style it like a Citroën DS, GS, BX or XM.
I'm 50/50 on it, I think it works well in some colours but lighter grey, silver, white it doesn't look good at all. The black one has grey cladding which I think is a miss as the Prophecy concept 😥 was all black. I think the concept vs production designs were a bit too far apart on this which annoyed quite a few people. Overall I do like that it's not another crossover or SUV, so they get big points for that.
Hey Derek. Looks are obviously objective, and i really like the styling of the ioniq 5 but this ioniq 6’s design is a horrendous mess in my eyes. All in the name of efficiency though I guess.
@@MrGMawson2438 Not really Tesla Model 3 LR is now €51k some €17k cheaper than this car, you would have a long range dual motor Tesla for the starting price of this car

@@NevoEVReviewIreland Are you sure those are USB-A ports in the rear? They look like USB-C ports to me. I thought this may beat it's grandparent the classic Ioniq the world's most efficient EV, as tested and proven by Bjorn multiple times, and I own one and definitely can say it has better efficiency to the I6. Thanks for this. Has been very helpful to get me more familiar with my Ioniq6. Love it!! Thunder Bay Ontario Canada.

Excellent video again. Watching from Bulgaria

Another great review, thank you Derek!
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment Max
Can't wait to see this go head to head with the id7.
The market is heating up. The market for executive sedan motorway eating EVs - 7 years after Tesla Model 3
Now there will be a match but I think the VW will be more expensive

It's an unusual looking car inside. Very reminiscent of the early 90s along with the driving position.
Thanks for the comment Pato. I found it very comfortable for that drive to Tullamore

In the US we say "Hunday" to rhyme with "Sunday".

It's a grower for sure and we'll be well used to it on the road by this time next year.
They're not that concerned with aerodynamics, because if they were they'd build a smaller car. Just saying 😁
Very stylish tho.
Ah, people still want rear passenger space but yes, a smaller lighter car will go further for sure
Tesla Model 3 Long range 72kw 465kms range is now €51,000 had to justify paying up to €68,000 for an ioniq 6 awd
Definitely a tough decision

Agree
I dont think the top spec will sell well, €9k-ish extra for the digital door mirrors 20" and a sunroof
Some people really want AWD and a sunroof....
looks great, like the old Hyundai Coupé with a Porsche's rear end! 😆
It does!
Not keen on the rear end styling, a little pretentious. No doubt a steller efficient platform for folks who prefer low saloon format.
Won't be for everyone for sure Noel but it's a grower and SO SO SO efficient,
