In this video, I compare a bone nut and saddle to a composite nut and saddle.
    Part 1: Sustain Test
Though it was a slight difference, the bone had more sustain than the composite. Bone was clearly an upgrade for the sustain.
    Part 2: Tone Test
This part is all opinion. What sounds better to you? Is it worth spending ~$150?
Bone definitely has a brighter sound. The lower notes were tighter and had more clarity.
With a composite nut and saddle, the lower notes sounded a little muddy.

Can definitely hear the difference in tonality. The bone definitely has a better tone.

The bone one was easily and definitely the better sounding one. Thanks for posting!

good experiment . been wondering about bones vibrational dynamics as its organic . sounds broader frequancies withthe bone but its cancelled out with bar chords . it probably would sound great with open tuning and slide :)

I would've liked to hear some picking instead of just strumming but good video, huge difference.

I appreciate the feedback! I’ll definitely do that for the next video.
