- We got ourselves an Insta360 One X2 and made this video to start learning how to use it.
We decided to go climbing at Cape Collinson on the east coast of Hong Kong island. It was a beautiful day and we hope you enjoy sharing the adventure with us.
This is our first RUclips video and we have a lot to learn, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for watching. We had all kinds of plans for this video but it was taking soooo long to get all the bits done that we decided to just publish it as it is. There should be some intro thing, music, sound effects, maybe some more text overlays... We also noticed some things we could do better in terms of the types of shots we were filming. The next video will be better.

Which strap do you recommend for rock climbing?
This could be easily one of my favorite movies!
Can u name the straps u r using on ur head and hand both link pls
I love how Heidi just laughed when Jan fell, haha! Fun times! I think I would have started tearing up if I fell haha! Looking forward to making videos with you guys and climbing! See you this CNY!
Thanks for sharing insights of your experience with the X2's drawbacks when using the lens protectors with it. I have mine on now, I definitely think it's worth to have it on to prevent permanent to the lens and I think the tradeoff with slight image degradation is still worth it for the protection you're getting!
settings on low light?
Thanks for your video on insta 360..inspiring
Glad you liked it!!
Have you tried swim the camera underwater?😅
Yes, it works well, but we haven't tried making a video from underwater footage yet
Can i know where did you get that head strap?
We got it from the Insta360 store. We don't use it much for climbing because the camera gets banged against the rock a lot in that position, but it's quite good for other activities.
Cool way to use the Insta360 ONE X2. Miss Hong Kong so much!
thank you for this honest video. i noticed the stitch line issue when it was mounted on her head. did you switch the lens guard mode on after fixing the sticky lens guard? ive been planning to buy the x3, the stitch line issue is what is stopping me from buying it. and yes, the lens that are exposed.
I did turn on the lens guard mode. I still really loved the insta360 X2 even with its issues. I do think the X3 will be a lot better because it has a higher pixel count and this was one thing that I thought could be better with the X2. After reframing, the video resolution was a bit lower than I would have liked.
:) thanks for responding jan. just one last thing, did you get the selfie stick free? i noticed in my cart, it was added as a free gift. and later removed! @@JanBoshoff
Gorgeous views!
It was a beautiful day and the clouds really made the sunrise extra gorgeous!
@@lifeisatypo9389 What mode did you record in post process?
HDR video or Standard/vivid?
@@BushMasterThermal This was our first video, so we did everything at the default settings. I think it was on standard.
@@JanBoshoff Ohhh okay okay nice
I want to get a camera I could use for let's say trekking or rock climbing. Which one would you suggest me? Also some mount recommendations would be helpful
Hahahaha...so fun to see both of your hike! Nice, guys!!
Keep. Make content bro i use insta 360 r too,
Thanks for sharing. It was interesting to see the footage you captured with the two mounting options you tried. The backpack harness option looks like it might be one to try but I’m not sure how I feel about climbing with the stick behind me in case of a fall.
It’s a great camera and you can get unique views with it, you certainly need the lens covers doing what you do. I haven’t climbed anything in decades and I am not going to start again now 🤣🤣 thanks for sharing and you got yourself a new subscriber 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for your support! We are so glad you enjoyed it. Making new videos is quite a slow process still, but we'll do more regular ones as we get better at it.
Great video... Amazing view... Greetings from Indonesia
Thank you very much!
The coffee is important as well ^^
Woww nise conten your husband is very funny 😂
😄
Very cool video and like how you used the X2. Thought you might be from SA, and then I heard "hou gou vas"
We're from SA, but haven't lived there in a while. You can take the man out of the bush, but.... Thanks for watching!
Great video 😊 love the place and the sunrise
Thanks so much
Nice video! I actually did a similar video with an Insta360 camera. I actually used a harness instead of a head mount. So the camera is looking at me from my back almost in a 3rd person perspective. Definitely, gives you some good angles.
That sounds like exactly what we should do. I think it will be the most interesting angle.
Do you think the back bar would be better for climbing?
Yes, definitely something to try, although it would only work on slabs, once you turn your body you'd smash the camera into the rock.
Wow, you guys look so cool! Did not know you love rock climbing, it looks dangerous to me, haha... 😁
Thanks Teresa! You should join us, it's really a lot of fun.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good video! Without the lensprotectors and if had uploded it as a 4k the image quality should have been much improved. But fun to watch anyway!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it. We're getting better at this, I like to believe our later videos are improving (slowly). The lens protectors definitely messed up the image quality, however, it saved our camera lens on this trip. If we didn't have them, our camera would be ruined. We have learned a lot about protecting the lens.
The 360 camera doesn't record in high enough definition to export shots in 4K, the entire 360 image is only 5.7K. It's a trade off between the cool features of filming in 360 and high def.
@@lifeisatypo9389 Yeah, actionsports without lensprotection is no good as a little scratch can ruin the whole camera. I mean that if you take your 1080p video that is max what you can get out of insta360 x2 and export it as a 4k in fcpx or premier pro and then upload that file to youtube you will get better quality when watching it at youtube. RUclips will then provide a better coding format (VP9), and it will be less pixelated.
@@henrikhammaren4118 Cool, thanks for the advice, I'll try it!
