Really glad that somebody else was also blown away by Harvestella. Feels fitting to me that you played both that and Nier: Automata in the same year and ranked them together!
21:40 "apparently there is a pretty robust post-game" Whats crazy is that the main game for Pokemon Conquest is essentially just the tutorial to the post-game which feels like the actual meat of the game.
just discovered your channel but will definitely be sticking around!! great taste in games and very entertaining :) also i just started ace attorney for the very first time and absolutely loving it so far
Your take on SMTV sounds exactly like how I felt about FF8 which I’m currently playing through (making myself actually finish it after trying to get into it for 25 years). I really just don’t care about the characters. A bunch of whiny kids in a boring story (as of 30 hours in). On the flip side, the junction system to boost stats and abilities with the GFs is extremely fun and engaging, and something I absolutely love about the game.
Well it looks like you had a productive & fun year. Mario was one of the big games for me this year too. Some of these here I was not aware of, like Little Kitty, but how you described made me want to play them. Where there any you started but didn't finish? What are you most looking forward to this year?
It's funny - on reflection, your reason for not liking Shin Megami Tensei V is a big reason why Nier: Automata didn't gel with me. That and the need for multiple playthroughs. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Persona!
Great ranking! I loved hearing your thoughts. Lots of games here I've played and loved. And lots of games I'm excited to play, your high praise makes me more excited for it. Happy Tokyo Mirage Sessions is 4/5 in your eyes! One of my favorite games. Don't feel too bad about your SMTV ranking, from what I gather, most SMT fans would rank the original SMTV that low too. I actually did the same and played the original game when Vengeance released (already owned it) and had a similarly low opinion of the story. But I fell in love with the gameplay so I'll be happy to try out other SMT games in the future. I heard Vengeance "redeemed" the original SMTV so I'll grab it on sale next year. edit: actually I would say to try to not get AISTF: Nirvana Initiative on Switch, sadly. I didn't personally have any issues with the original AITSF game but Nirvana Initiative dropped frames fairly frequently. Which isn't even something I notice often but it was glaring. And I did have to redo an entire Somnium because the game crashed on the ending scene. PC version might sadly be your best bet to have a smooth experience.
Happy New Year Alex! I have really enjoyed the content you've produced. May 2025 see you make great strides into the gaming backlog! 🥳 You've definitely got through more games in 2024 than I have managed. I am currently making headway into Sea of Stars after getting it for Xmas. It's brilliant as an old school RPG fan.
Great job! I loved UO as well. I also played Nier Automata for the first time as well. 13 Sent. Was pretty challenging for me so kudos to you for making it easy. Props!
Get your snacks everyone. Alex is back at her desk and is all business today lol Knocking out 30 games in a single year is kind of insane to me. Don't know if I've ever gotten anywhere close to that number. Can't only imagine what you'll accomplish next year.
If you like character focused games, Persona > SMT Also Persona 5 Royal is one of the greatest games ever made. Previous Persona games are slightly(very slightly) overrated.
P4 is pretty close but P3 yeah it's kinda overrated but that's because some parts of it didn't age well (tartarus grinding, lack of side activities, very slow pacing), still a great game though.

The title screen song in 13 Sentinels is cool.
Also, I finished and enjoyed Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but dropped SMTV pretty quickly.
Echoes of Wisdom was definitely my favorite game of 2024.
Happy New Year Alex

Harvestella was my favourite game of the year so you’ve convinced me to try Nier automata :)

"SMT was a standout b/c I was so angry"
now that's a back of the case quote right there
Is it true Nintendo is gonna release Switch 2 this year?
Yes my Uncle Joe works for Nintendo and he confirmed.

You're so kindhearted that I don't want to stop watching! Why can't my friends be like you!
Your taste is SO good omg I also played Automata this year and it’s just a crazy experience
Seeing vanillaware that high, you have such a good taste

GG for every game you beat this year.👏
Im making a video on my vlog channel of games I've beaten this year soon! Might not be today, though
I played around 240 different games this year and only played 1 on this list
240?
unicorn overlord was so good I hope it makes the list
Get your snacks everyone. Alex is back at her desk and is all business today lol

I played a lot of games this year but only managed to complete like 30 games 😢
No BG3 on Switch, but I did pick up the D&D collection with BG1&2, among others 🤓 Nerd party!
You should over tip your hair stylist
😭😂❤️ cackling oh my gosh
