those sweet scones are a rip-off for tourists and of course not traditional. just plain with garlic sauce or cheese and sour cream, rather elsewhere where they make better. maybe pepper spice is worth to buy in market halls. one traditional food I can make by own as a bachelor is paprikás krumpli that I love so much :) you know a lot about the city and you are a lovely couple in complete harmony. thank you for the video and the visiting of the city. it is an honour.

The parliament building was designed and built for a country three times the size of today.
Today's Hungary is only one third of his former self, before 1920. The Trianon Dictat by the Allies lopped off 2/3rds of HU and gave it to neighboring countries - with its wealth, cities, production facilities, rolling stock and Hungarian ethnic population.
And... to make tings more insulting and egregious, HU was AGAINST the war (WW1), we have the documents written to the Emperor of the Monarchy by the PM, Kalman Tisza, that stated: HU has no territorial claims on anyone, and would not want to partake in any war.
In hindsight, if he would have been constituted of a stronger mettle, he would just secede HU out of the Monarchy - whatever it took; and guess what, Austria would not have started the war against Serbia (they were not strong enough to do it alone) and that means that WW1 would not have started. HU was then strong enough, to defend itself against even an Austrian military retaliation or intervention.
No WW1, no tens of millons dead, no Soviet Union , no Hitler, no WW2.
One man, Tisza, could have changed not only European history but the entire 20th century's history, if he'd only had the guts, the balls, the integrity, the character...
Now, 110 years later a "deja vu".
HU's PM want to keep HU out of the coming war in Ukraine, which the West wants so bad (becoming WW3).
Will THIS PM (Orban) have the character and mettle to keep HU out of THIS, the third WW?
We'll see... But the parliament bldg. will not make it through - not this time...

As a proud conservative Hungarian, please, leave politics out of this.
These lovely folks made such a pleasant video about their trip, don't ruin it.
