- Today I walk to the Buda castle from the Pest side of the Danube river, over to the Buda side. We see the famous Chain Bridge along the way, as well as some famous landmarks on the Buda side. I decided to take the Funicular (hill side elevator) which was built in 1870. It offers great views of the river and they are very historical. Soon I arrived at the Buda castle which is a World heritage site. Buda Castle is the historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian Kings in Budapest. It was first completed in 1265, although the massive Baroque palace today occupying most of the site was built between 1749 and 1769. The castle is actually a complex of different buildings including the Hungarian National Gallery, History Museum and National Library. There is also the Sandor Palace and other historical buildings. Come and exploring the Buda Castle in today's video.

Interesting Kerry to show Budapest, such an interesting place. Reminds me of Prague a little. So much to see. These historic cities have so much historical value.
Well done as always
It does have similarities to Prague. With such a vast and rich history Budapest is a great city in Eastern Europe. Thanks David. 🦅🇭🇺🙏😎
Great video of the castle. Beautiful views and so much to explore. Thanks Kerry
There are so many buildings to explore and they are constantly rebuilding the ones that were destroyed. Too bad everything was closed, but all the more reason to return. 🏰🦅🇭🇺👍😎
Incredible video Kerry! So much to see, definitely going to be a multi video adventure. Safe travels and looking forward to more beautiful scenery!
There is enough to see for several more videos at least. Thanks for all of your support. Happy to mention you and your channel in the video. Have a great weekend.🙏🇭🇺🏰

What an amazing tour in the Buda Castle. I enjoyed the walking tour over the bridge with the Danube River below. So much beauty around this area of Budapest. The buildings and fountains are architectural gems. Smart idea taking the elevator up to the castle. You did lots of walking today my friend. Take care.
Walking is great for tour health. The castle was absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed the old elevator ride up the side of the hill too. A great day of exploration in Budapest.🏰🦅🇭🇺
Very informative on Budapest. I like the restaurant videos showing the hungarian cuisine. Any good cafes with pasteries etc there? Any chance you will bump in to Cat Man?
Catman has been in Spain for years now. I don't think so. We might say a video about Hungarian pastries. Thanks for the idea.
.. if you stay here long enough till or past the end of the year, you can start spotting places for a Budapest Christmas special..
Let's see what happens. If I find a cheap apartments I might stay. I think this could be a good base for me.
The Danube River is huge!
It's a very important river in the region and yes it's huge.
Beautiful scenery from Buda castle in Budapest! Impressive buildings with the Danube river in the background! Highly recommended as a great tourist attraction. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks!
Amazing castle tour. Great views!
The whole things was really cool, especially taking the 150 year old elevator up the hill.
I wonder if you have heard about Fisherman's Bastion?
You missed the main attraction by meters
Yes, I am going to film that in another video. Thanks for the reminder.
The bridge you crossed is the Elizabeth Bridge. If you're interested in the story, here's how to find it: Sissi! :) The statue on the side of the hill is named after the bishop of St. Gellert. The statue of Sissi is down by the bridge.
nice vid man
Thank you Steve. 🇭🇺🙏😎
This Eagle is called Turul. It is a national symbol of Hungary. You can see the Turul also on the towers of the green Liberty Bridge. The bird has similarities with an eagle and with a falcon. It is said to have led the Hungarians to Pannonia. Pannonia is the territory of today's Hungary.
The statues depict the Turul so beautifully. I'm excited to learn more about Hungary. 🇭🇺🦅
@@TravelAddictGuy Glad to hear :). There is so many things to learn about this ancient country. By the way one of the oldest countries in europe. Its foundation was in 896.
Hi! The Roman province of Pannonia extended only as far as the Danube. The Hungarians are considered (old legend) to be related to the Huns, which is why they came to the Carpathian Basin. The name Attila is one of the most common names in Hungary. The Huns drove back the Roman armies further west. The Hungary country name is mean also the land of the Huns (area).
Just watched a travel video on prague said it was sketchy... When will we see the tag man in dam
I did not find Prague to be sketchy. There were a few sketchy people here and there. But that's not what most people were like.
Hi! Just a little information! Come back in three or four years! You won't recognize the Buda Castle district! Many new palaces are being built that were destroyed in World War II. Everything will be rebuilt as it was at the beginning of the 20th century! Already, three buildings are almost finished.
I saw a lot of construction going on here. can't wait to come back and see the how they look when finished. 👍🏻
Kerry, you very curious and curiosity killed the cat .........and detroit tigers also, hahahahaha
Tigers are a joke, all of Detroit sports is in ruins at the moment.
@@TravelAddictGuy hahahahaha, i see why you left
