- In this video I want to talk about how I saved over 100 thousands dollars in just two years and how you can do it too!
Before I start I just want to mention that I did not come from money, in fact it’s the opposite, I grew up in a low income city in southern California, I was raised by a single mom, I attended public schools my whole life. I didn’t inherit any money and I started with a net worth of negative $30,000 thanks to student and car loans. So how did I do it?
Well, let’s begin with the most important step, the motive, why do you want to save 100k? Is it for an emergency fund? Do you want to buy a house? Or maybe you just want to see 6 digits in your bank account? Whatever the case may be, you have to really think about why you want this money? And use that as the main driving factor for you to save. In my case and I’m going to be honest, it wasn’t for a good reason but it was a reason strong enough to allow me to make the necessary sacrifices to do it.
Dude I love your videos. I just graduated and you've provided a lot of insight for my next steps towards having a great career
Glad to hear that!
You inspire me a lot!
Your videos are great. Simple, to the point, and realistic.
Hugh G. Dee-ot Thanks!
Great video dude!!
U should have more subs , love u
I wish I knew this before college so I could have a goal to work towards!
Great video! Going to try it!! #2021
So simple
That ending was...unexpected haha. But good choice! Not sure if you did already but could you do a video explaining brokerage accounts?
Haha Glad you watched it all! ...i haven’t but sure I’ll give it a try
I’m a high school student trying to figure out a career path. I’m interested in chemical engineering but I’m finding it hard to find information on the different types of jobs. I’m interested in working on research/development of products but I also want to make the highest salary possible without drowning myself in debt. Would it be possible to make a video about different chemical engineering jobs or maybe provide some insight to me in the comments? It would very helpful and mean a lot to me if you could. Btw your videos are amazing keep it up👍
Thanks for the comment!
I don’t feel comfortable making videos on other careers since I don’t have experience in ChemE . If I made a video on it, it would be on things I found online.
Hey man I really love your videos as they've inspired me. Im entering my second year of civil engineering in UBC, Vancouver and recently I've received an email telling me about coop placements. I was wondering what I can do to guarantee a place in coop and what kind of things to say in my application
Good luck on the coop! Hopefully you get it. I think it’s going to depend on your situation, I’m not sure exactly but I would try to focus on projects that you’ve worked on that show the skills you’ve built and your ability to work in a multidisciplinary group. I think employers want to see people that can work well with others in addition to good grades.
hey dude, I really appreciate your video! couldn't you please give me the link where you downloaded this thumbnail picture? thx:) this is really amazing
I found it on google pics, the ones available for use
@@RelearnMath just wann use this Porsche as an inspiration🤩
I'm an undergrad with electrical engineering as my major. Your videos inspire me to work hard.👍
how did you have loans from your bachelors? did you not live with your parents during bachelors for food transportation etc?
No I didn’t, I also bought a car.
Were your student loans from your bachelors first and then added on with masters or only which one? Was your tuition covered entirely because of first gen? Then what costs made the loans?
Loans from bachelors only. Tuition was covered but not total cost of living,...like food, housing, transportation, etc...so loans were related to the latter
That’s amazing bro, congratulations. By the way I’m a mechanical engineer. You think it’s still possible to do what you did ? I think I read somewhere the electrical engineers make a bit more than other disciplines.
It’s possible but it takes discipline! If you’re an engineer I’m sure you could do it
REACH yea bro. I set myself up well to not live above my lifestyle like you explained. I have a Honda Accord that will last me for a long time. Why didn’t you stay in SoCal ? I know you went to school here at csun. What made you want to leave ?
REACH btw you got an Instagram ?
That’s great man! Yeah the accord should last you a long time! ...nothing pushed me away, I actually really liked the valley, I just got the opportunity to move to a new place and I took it...probably has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever took.
Without the car loan how much student loans did you have if any at all? Why wasn’t college free? I thought some people can get free college if they’re first gen and etc
About 20K in student loans. Yes tuition can be free but not the total cost of attendance. For example food, basic necessities , transportation and part of living expenses.
Are you able to make a video about entrepreneurs
What about them? I’m not an entrepreneur so I don’t feel comfortable making a video on that.
Is it good to get a MBA degree at Columbia university and be an engineer.
What’s your end goal ? A technical career in Engineering or more managerial? If you want a technical career, you don’t need the MBA, but if you want to move into the managerial ladder then yes it would be good.
Ok
I want to buy a porsche too lol, at the same time, I wanna stack a ton of cash, so yeahh, same as you, I will probably not buy porsche, instead save the money.
Haha buy a house! Greatest purchase I ever made.
can an electrical engineer be a ceo of a company
Apollos Pierre of course, all the companies I’ve worked in and supported had Engineers as the CEOs.
@@RelearnMath ok
Often when you have enough money to buy what you want you realise that the hard work and the amount of money you have isn’t worth it for that thing
haha that is exactly right my friend! Thanks for your comment.
Brother I request you pls give guidance what to do after engineering I’m currently pursuing engineering school in India pls help us what to learn to make us the best engineers right from college
Are you turning into a car guy
Yep, waiting for that new 400Z
Your accent sounds a little different from typical American accents to be honest.
1st gen American. English is my second language.
