Guys, tip from someone who has played this games since launch and hasn’t spend any money on it, treat it as a side game, enter, finish the main story and explore the hell out of it and yo can have some fun 25-30 hours, if you decide to stay ,play it for 30 min a day and hop in and out for some of the events. Dont expect it to be something you play form more than a hour a day and you’ll be fine. Lower your expectations, your not gonna get all the characters in the gacha, but save for the ones you really like, remember this is still a mobile game , ideal for short sessions .

Are materials so hard to come by later? 🔥
Yes. It costs a ton of materials to upgrade weapons high enough to do any real damage, and if you don't know what you're using, (like me, I used a Rust bow to upgrade a travelers sword lol) then you can waste a lot of really valuable stuff early on. It's worth watching a few videos to see which weapons are worth upgrading to give you a good goal to work toward 😉
Genshin Impact is a game best enjoyed in small bites in my opinion.
Not only will it likely be years before the main story is finished, but the gacha system is one I can see pushing a lot of people away and understandably so.
My advice?
Play it casually. Complete your dailies, complete whatever events are active, use up your resing for artifacts or world bosses and then just turn it off for the day
Mihoyo likely won't finish the main story of Genshin Impact for at least 5 years, mainly cuz Mihoyo likes to focus on fleshing out their character and world building. Just look at Mihoyo's other game, Honkai Impact 3rd which is already 3 years old. The game devs said that they haven't even developed half of the full story yet.
I've played genshin like 1 and a half years now and my tip is not speedrunning, don't waste ur resin, do story quests mindfully, and read all the lores. It's been fun.
Dont forget that we currently only have 2 regions out of 7. The game is constantly getting updates every 2 months that are either events, etc. or big updates that open new areas on the map, unlock new part of main story line or permanent new features. If the company wont get more greedy ( i dont think they will based on my long experience with them ) then the game can get only better.

The biggest thing he doesn't mention is that you can literally earn the "currency" to pull for characters through pretty much everything you do in the game, not just through the battle pass. The game is also built for you to be able to clear every content with the free characters they give you and not touch the gacha at all so sinning the monetization system is pretty pointless. The problem is the gacha/mobile game mechanics like progression gating through a stamina system.
The gameplay of switching between elemental characters to create combos is an awesome mechanic. Cant believe it took this long to get something like this.
Played this game since the beginning. Still fun to play. Even though the only thing to play now just daily mission and grind your characters, because I literally have done every quest in this game including Spiral Abyss. Can't wait for new region update.

As someone who has played literally hundreds of hours on this I’ve never felt that it’s necessary to spend money to play the game. Also I feel the level of detail and size of the game world is incredible compared to most full paid games. My favorite part of the game is still how well the combat flows and the nearly infinite possibles for team combinations and character builds. Every character even those who stat wise aren’t the best can still be viable.
I play the game and I have not spent anything yet. I could complete all of the main game with the characters they give you. Weapons in the gacha also drop from chests and quest rewards. I plan on dropping some money soon since I enjoy the game, but not specifically to keep rolling on the gacha.

@@legendaryoutcast4440 I didn't say it was locked behind a paywall.
It's locked behind a gacha system, which probably isn't particularly predatory at the moment right?
Because this is another push to normalize mobile economies in the PC/console ecosystem.
They make it seem half way reasonable now so that when someone complains about the presence of a gacha system people can run to their defense with "Oh but you can get everything just by playing" and "Well they have to make money somehow".
And if they can keep that up long enough, people get used to it and the excuse becomes "Well, it's just the way things are now, can't fight big corporations!" and then they can start nickel and diming us.

I've played on my ps4/5 really enjoyed it. It has a really fun world to explore when I reached 50 hours I payed $80 into it to support the developer because I feel like when playing a free to play game you should support how much enjoyment you get out of the game to an equivalent amount of time spent
Regardless of the heavy incentive to spend money, you don't have to buy anything to find success or fun. The game difficulty isn't high enough to warrant going for every 5*weapon/character if you can be smart about resource investment, development, and skill in gameplay mechanics (team/character builds or mechanical ability). Either you whale, you know, or both. Side note, the reactions between elements are my favorite part.
Remember over 100 million players thats a tiny amount of £10 each if everyone put the same amount of money in
I really love the game I've been playing it since launch and reached AR55. This game has so much more and you'll keep on exploring. The small details, the character designs moreover the combat is really amusing to me. I always wanted something like this and finally got it for free. There's still a bunch of things but playing it will make you realise yes this is something breathtaking.
Although that gatcha system annoys me but that is something what makes it unique, something you may appreciate when you get what you desired for and feel it like a win!
Finally the character enhancements are flexible you can stack bunch of different artifacts and weapons and can see the difference in every aspect.
For me I use an Electro Sword character and (her name is Keqing) she is more flexible than I thought, She can be a great physical damage dealer or electro or even Cryo(Ice) & Pyro(Fire) damage dealer, it just depends on the build.
And for more Damage go with elemental reactions!
I know you may find something similar in few other games, but those few other games aren't as good as this one atleast for me.
I play on my PC along wih my friends who have PS4 and other play on Mobile.
For newcomers into the genre, don't be pulled in the 'pulling'. For free2plays, good to go! Save your primos, explore and play. For spenders, be very mindful - it is no different than a casino. Enjoy the amusement and ride but set a budget!
Paimon's not a mystical tutorial fairy ! Paimon's emergency food!

I like it because of the pity system. As a player of other Gacha games, I know how bad it can get without that system. This makes it so that if you just save for long enough, you'll be able to literally guarantee the character you want. (Unless they're unfeatured like Diluc and the others)

This game is insane for a f2p and yeah it is a gacha game but me a completelly f2p player already beat Abyss 36 stars in 5 months playing, so no you dont need to spend money to complete everything in the game, but on the other side for f2p game it looks AMAZING sounds AMAZING and also the gameplay is AMAZING the only downside is Once you explored most of the map as it is a "energy" base game you may start to feel that you dont have to much to do in the game, luckely they always have a event active so you have stuff to do in the game, i must have over 500h put into the game and they still need to release 6 new BIG zones, i cant even imagine this game in 2 or 3 years.
If anyone says "after 5 months?" you gotta keep in mind that the abyss is hard, even if you get best 5* you still need to lvl them up and build them, which takes time. You also need to learn how to use the elemental reactios in your favour. Genshin is not a hard game, but you can't spend 1000$ and expect to have everything unlocked.
Also grats on those 36 stars!

There are some things I don't like of course like the grind that it can be after you reach a higher levels but considering at the time i couldn't play any other games it really saved me from a boredom
I feel like Gacha Games , in and of themselves, cannot really be criticized for that very system .
As it is a "Gacha Game" , people who play it are immediately aware of what that entails.
Though criticism of the rates , and transparency of those rate can definitely be critiqued. Though that conversation is unending
As a long time Tales of series player, I've felt this game got a lot of resemblance to it, the swapping characters mid battle, elemental combos, using the weak weapons to enhance the similar category weapons and the open world grinds are really the staples of the game.
The MTX are overly confusing so I wouldn't pay much heed on them.

I have been playing this game since the first day of its launch though I left this for few months for my exams but after that I m back and the thing is I haven't paid a single penny playing this game but it is still enjoyable to me.
Doing in-app purchases via mobile is more advantageous
Google Play gives play points, these can be used for discounts
Paying is in no way necessary to play the entire game. If you really love it, like I do, spending a bit feels fine. I feel like I'm supporting a good game just like I would a pay to play game. I also only spent about the same amount, nothing crazy.
I've played the game during it's launched and officially stopped playing it early February of 2021. I never missed a day of attendance which made me obtain 90% of the characters, 80% of the weapons, 100% exploration, 100% quest. I spent $100 on the game until one day that the game felt like a meaningless grind since they only release characters and events with the same area that you've explored over and over. This game will and still have a special place in my heart but the fact that the game mandates you to play to earn Primogems is now a big turn off for me.
I spend maybe 60-70 dollar in this game but never regretted it once, it get's you hooked but my broke ass can't afford to spend more so it's good for me that I start taking this game casually after 1 year of grinding, but overall this game is great....
just don't get addicted to the gacha system and you'll be fine.....
I tried it last year, but at the same time I also decided to start a new Elder Scrolls Oblivion playthrough, because of the lockdown and Oblivion's open lush green scenery and literally do anything you want mentality was what I wanted. After a week I decided to go with the 15 years old game instead of the new one.
They talk about mobile, BUT I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this game on Console for months💯
I saw the name Paimon in the game. He was the demon in Hereditary. Nice!
I learnt about this game when I saw it on a Huawei Y9 Prime review video. The guy was trying to see what games ran on it and Genshin Impact was there. I was like, "cool, I'll check it out".
Man, I was not expecting how good this game would be. Haven't played it in a while, but I'm definitely getting back to it.
So I want to specify things for new players.
There are 3 currencies in this game
1.Mora (in game story currency you need it to craft stuff, make stuff, upgrade stuff, lvl up character etc)
2. Primogems (You use this on wish to get characters, weapons. It is free since you can earn in the game by doing quest, opening chests, commissions)
3. Genesis {paid currency. There's only two usage of this. It doesn't make your gameplay easier in any way to be honest since the artifacts is the main thing in the game that makes you strong besides weapon. The things you can do with genesis is to buy exp books, turn them into primogems to get new characters faster, get resins(it's like energy thing, you use this on dungeons and bosses) it's capped at 160 so it finishes fast but you can get energy back by using primogems}
Next thing is you can play this game without spending a single money.
I have two accounts
1 is f2p account
And 2nd is an account where I've used money.
There's no difference except I have more characters in the 2nd account.
There are 2 rarities between characters
4 star and 5 star.
All characters are unique.
5* star characters just have higher base attacks but trust me when I say that a 4* can be stronger and doing more damage than a 5* if you have a good artifacts.
Artifacts can be earned by doing domains/dungeons.
I have 4* characters that are doing more damage than a 5* with almost same type of artifacts.
All I wanted to say is that this game doesn't require money to play.
All events are free for all.
Full story is unlocked for everyone.
Why people spending money on this game?
Ans: they want new characters
Husbandos and waifus
Edit: another thing
You are guaranteed to get a 5* when you have pulled 90 1× time and 9 10× times.
You are guaranteed to get a 4* after every 10 pulls.
Using money doesn't give you luck in this game.

getting characters is gacha, getting weapons is gacha and getting equipments(artifacts) is gacha (although unpaid), I played up until AR 56 and got tired, nothing fun on doing grind over and over again while praying to get a good artifact, it isn't like monster hunter that you grind for mats to craft your gear and at the end of the day you get to craft it with no extract caveat, genshin thought, you grind for a CHANCE, a chance to get the artifact you want while hoping you get the stats you want for that artifact plus the fact that you also gacha for which substats that get upgraded or added to the artifact while upgrading it, it's like you need to gacha to gacha and gacha even more
I've been playing since launch, and I've spent a little but mostly on the battle passes. The battle pass is extremely worth it if you plan on playing regularly. I currently have all the 4 star characters and a good portion of the 5 star characters, the thing you have to know going in is that it will all just take time, you'll get more characters and weapons and most of the time they're pretty generous with the wish currency during the events. It's a good game with an unfortunate gacha core, but the gameplay is just best in class imo.
This has to be the best looking mobile game I've ever seen, I gave Genshin a go but honestly I went back to Honkai Impact, just suited my lifestyle more.
I wish Honkai was also on pC and Ps4/5 tbh
Most people don’t have 10-20 GB free to spare for a game lol
@@unal.05 Honkai Impact IS on PC. It came out before even Genshin released.
I'm willing to actually pay to get Honkai Impact on PS4. My phone is only used when I want to message people, social media, and reading. I game using PS4 and watch anime there too.
Fun fact: 75% of Genshin impact players are f2p cus it’s still fun to play without spending money, might also say more fun to play as f2p.
How do you know if it's more fun to play if you've never spent money?
Can confirm as a whale, it's nice having literally everything but having refinement 5 of multiple 5 star weapons, C6 of all 4 stars and every 5 star with at least half constellation makes it so you mow over everything in the game. There needs to be harder content but with F2Ps you're working harder for your wins.
@Beer Senpai yeah but how do you know what it feels like to spend money in the game if you have never spent money in the game? How are we going to take the opinion on how it feels to spend money on the game from someone who has never done it?
@Beer Senpai "a common sense" 😂 sure man 👌
I just want to say that the very first and just about every ratchet and clank games have the gliding mechanic
The first 4 minutes sounded like a very famous ad for another mobile game which I shall not name.
Oh
You meant raid shadow legend
lol
The game would be even better if no microtransactions for new characters/weapons were in there and if everyone/thing was unlockable instead of bought.
Of course, since it's free, add Patreon bonuses or a donation tab or something people would be interested in buying instead of luring them in with a golden fishhook.
But it’s free to play but your right I think this should be a paid game with no micro transactions
so u want to enjoy the game but let the devs go bankrupt?
@@ChappalChor17 I don't think you read my comment.
@@Fipsh u edited it :)
@@ChappalChor17 Yes, a few minutes after. Before you came. Your comment said 2 minutes ago and I edited it about 30 minutes ago.
I started playing Genshin about 2 weeks after it came out and I've enjoyed it very much. I'm playing on Ps4 and I will admit that the game isn't for everyone but if you like anime then you're going to like this game, pure and simple. I don't normally say this but I don't think that this was a good way to describe the game. I love gameranx but I personally think they made it sound a little more complicated then it actually is guessing it's because they didn't invest enough time, but they said that none of them liked it so that's on them. It sounds like none of them are weebs
I've played a bit of this game and while I wasn't blown away by it I was, you might say pleasantly surprised, as I typically rarely ever look into free to play games as I perceive them mostly to be multiplayer oriented never ending PvP modes designed to grab money, and not something that I am in search of, this game did intrigue me enough to return to it repeatedly, if only for the bright and sunny setting as a counterpoint to other games, never felt compelled to do a deep dive and I certainly haven't paid anything for it, so I view of it is generally favorable.
Watching this at the tail end of 2022. Love the game. I wasn't a 1st day player but I wasn't able to put down my phone

Respect to everyone who plays Honkai Impact 3
I haven't spend real money on the game at all, and I have manage to obtain most of the playable characters. I'm just a casual player for this game and I got suprised with the characters I have.
Sort answer: YES
i spended 2000
Finally, now childe might come to me
Sorry to say I just got childe yesterday
I just today 3 hours ago
I think I've spent a total of around $40, maybe $50 in Genshin since I started. Not entirely proud of it, but I figured that spending about the amount that the game would have been worth to me if it wasn't free to play was at least fair (ended up going a bit over that though). I've since sworn off spending any more and have adopted a much more casual play style.
I play for free on pc. the main reason I enjoy it is because I got a little lucky and enjoy the gameplay loop of the characters I got. I also am someone who love finding small details thought the game, these are all over the place in genshin.
The monetization is...well as every other mobile game xD
But the game itself, the music, gameplay and story development its gorgeous ❤️
The drop rates are better than pubg mobile. At least it gurranteds something while nothing is gurranted in pubg mobile.
@@blaze8308 but in pubg you only draw skins unlike in genshin where the gacha is everything.
@@LeafyPeach at least something is gurranted unlike pubg. Now they removed Vikendi as well. And who knows when they will release Pubg New State.
I mean you don’t have to spend any money on it.
I have 2 5* characters and I don’t even play much lol
Music is what made genshin... You can't disagree that they out did themselves with music..
This is legitimately one of the games I'd spend money on, just because it provides such a great free experience. As a show of support
Hope we get more resin like 180/200 :D more Primogems per event will be nice too
I played this for awhile when it first came out, but they got no money from me. I absolutely refuse to pay to only get a CHANCE at getting what I want.
Also, having to grind dungeons on specific days to get the upgrade materials I needed was a huge turn off for me.
I play this game a lot and i am a F2P player it's because i don't have money yea the character are veary veary cool and alsome but it's just like for a long time if you have nothing to do in the game it's just like meh
I remember the time when i was grinding so hard just to get Hu Tao and i got Hu Tao and Diluc, Diluc at 81 Pity and Hu Tao and 4 Pity
it took all my money so im obligated to say yea at this point
What makes this game worth to spend a fuck ton of money on? Why not just play botw or immortals? Legit question
@@ActNasty5 BotW is a Switch exclusive and Immortals is a Ubisoft game with no waifus. Plus, Genshin constantly delivers new quests, limited time events and characters and keeps the game fresh.
@@GreenHellTube this^ especially the waifu thing
Since launch I’ve just spent money on the battle pass, about $40 or $50 worth and for me I see nothing wrong with that. A normal game will run you $75-$60 nowadays and there might only be 10-20 hours worth of content in the game. I’ve played over 300 hours worth of Genshin impact. Even if we were to go by final fantasy game lengths with 70 - 90 hours I’d have the equivalent game play time of 3.75 games or about $225. Genshin impact also has no dlc content besides characters. And honestly as long as you’re not trying to collect all the characters, you’ll be just fine. I’ve amassed over 50,000 primogems in the last 6 months for free (primogems are used to roll for characters). 50,000 primogems would roughly cost me $629 if I was to pay 2 play, but I got those for free by doing my quests and being active in the game. The hate is pretty much coming from people who think they should get everything for free, from a free 2 play game. Without the revenue, Genshin impact would not be putting out the amount of content that they do. Since the last few updates, I haven’t had a time where I was like there’s nothing to do. In fact I enjoy the days that there aren’t any events or quests, bc it gives me time to take a break and relax and enjoy the scenery.
you need some self control my man
I playing it from first day. Pre-ordered initial pack and adore the game till now.. It's my go to "unstress yourself" game to me...
When I can't be bothered with difficult, demanding games.. It's simply perfect... After hard day of work, Genshin is actually kind of meditation.
It's an amazing game that has a world easy for me to get lost in. Just wish they'd change up the current treasure chest system because once you find them all, there isn't much incentive to explore. you learn where all the resources are and that eliminates most all the reasons to go out into the world and explore.
Great game, and since it’s free to play and an actual good game I think that if anyone is exused for using microtransactions it’s them.
It’s not like Battlefield where you pay 60$ launch plus 20$ X3 for map packs and battlepass. (Not to mention they also have lootboxes)
I played Genshin on pc and I never felt like they were pushing me to spend money. The moral of this video make a lot of sense for alot of games, just not this one.
Keep up the good work!
As an AR 51 player, i'm very glad that I took the opportunity months ago to play this masterpiece of a game
Yeah I am AR 55 and have been playing this game for 6 months, the lore/story is more well thought out than any game I have ever played. (I have played botw, mario odyssey and almost all the AAA from past 10 years). Gameranx take on this is so normie and painful. The game is enjoyed best as a free to play and you will get every 4 star character you want for free, it's the matter of constellation and hitting the 5 star pity. This video is painfully inspiring, atleast complete the f*ing game bro
I'm AR55 with over 370 hours in the game. Not a cent spent and I don't plan to stop playing. I don't see why people complain but i like the grind so there's that
@@rojiii69420 fr like grinding is legit in every game lol. Eventhough I have spend about $100, I still need to farm these dungeons that can be annoying sometimes but that's just how the game is and that doesn't make me lose interest at all lol, so idk what the guy in the vid is so much complaining about lol
Ignorance is bliss
Would have never imagined yall would talk about this
