I've played WoW since launch to this July - like 16 or 17 years quitting during Cata and WoD. I once again got fed up with the plummeting quality of life and ever rising cash grab practices, so I just switched to FFXIV. Hopefully for good. Yes, they groomed you in their better years, but much like in an abusive relationship - you are better off cutting ties with a psychopath than come back seduced by their sweet talk, promises and your force of habit. And Activision is a prime example of a late stage corporatism built on very much psychopathic values. Let 'em rot without you.

My son absolutely love the Skylanders games. He and his friends would get together at someone's house after school or on the weekends to play together for hours. They were expensive to get, but because he had so many friends to play with, they would "trade" characters for a weekend so they could all play different ones without having to buy every one of them... Good times 😸
The new mw is great because the battle pass replaced the loot boxes. IDK how you could add battle pass to modern warfare remastered maybe DLC maps and cosmetics but still better than the loot boxes MW remastered got

They sold "exclusive to store" ones I believe and also "limited" ones. I'd get calls all night and customers coming in always asking about them. You see their true colors come out when they get salty at the employee for the lack of stock lmfao

MW Remastered was the most frustrating for me. CoD4 is one of my favorite CoDs ever, but having to spend so much when I could still play the original via backwards compatibility on my Xbox, there was zero reason for me to waste so much money. To this day I haven't played Modern Warfare Remastered. The whole bundle with Infinite Warfare thing was a obvious cash grab in my eyes when it was announced and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I waited and waited for it's inevitable stand alone release, only for them to take almost a year to do so and by the time they did I was no longer interested as I heard all about the multiplayer experience and how no one was playing it. This is something that really angered me with Activision and I believe what killed my love for the franchise. I was like a child when I heard about the remaster, yet I wasn't going to fork over $80 when all I wanted was said remaster. Could have been one of the games that sparked new life back into the franchise, but greed. :(

Modern Warfare 2 campaign only remaster was a big one considering it sold for normal release price aka $60 when it didn't have spec ops or multiplayer, however it did lower in value pretty quick because of that fact.

I have no love lost with activision but the overwatch point about summer games was fixed. In all events now credits can be used for skins (the new event skins are 3x the price of normal ones but hey, progress).

Imaginators seemed like a cheap cash grab in the whole Skylanders series in itself as it was made in a way for the player to make their own Skylander so it just seemed that the developers were just lazy.

I really wish as people we could finally become united on this one thing and stop micro transactions i would settle for that.
To this day I haven't played Modern Warfare Remastered. The whole bundle with Infinite Warfare thing was a obvious cash grab in my eyes when it was announced and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I waited and waited for it's inevitable stand alone release, only for them to take almost a year to do so and by the time they did I was no longer interested as I heard all about the multiplayer experience and how no one was playing it. This is something that really angered me with Activision and I believe what killed my love for the franchise. I was like a child when I heard about the remaster, yet I wasn't going to fork over $80 when all I wanted was said remaster. Could have been one of the games that sparked new life back into the franchise, but greed. :(
Dude, don't call voice actors 'nobodies'. They're doing their job. And remember, we could always use new blood in the games industry -- a point that Gameranx explicitly made in the past, if memory serves me right..

Modern Warfare 2 campaign only remaster was a big one considering it sold for normal release price aka $60 when it didn't have spec ops or multiplayer, however it did lower in value pretty quick because of that fact.

To me, the Galakrond’s Awakening adventure felt like a cash grab because most of the powerful cards you can get were locked behind this adventure (Fist of Ra Den, The Amazing Reno to name a few) were used in a lot of decks that reached legend rank
And what's even more outrageous, they still don't hold a candle to EA when it comes to $hitty practices
