REAL TALK. NYC IS KNOWN WITH TRADITION OF BASKETBALL PERIOD!!!! BUT I'M FROM BROOKLYN & THE NAMES THAT ARE ON HERE IS ENDLESS!!!! TO ME BROOKLYN IS THE BEST BOROUGH FOR BASKETBALL!!! THAT'S HOW I LEARN THE GAME WITH TOUGHNESS!!!! BIG UP TO THE OTHER BOROUGHS TOO.
It's Carmelo was born in New York City on May 29, 1984 and raised in Brooklyn's South Side neighborhood of Red Hook. It's Red Hook West Houses an apartment housing projects street address 79 Lorraine Street
In 1980s Dunbar High School BALTIMORE would have ran through every borough in NYC.... Especially 81-83 not even close that includes NYC privates and public programs.
is new york a bit overrated when it comes to producing nba talent though?? i mean new york always screams how much talent comes out of it, but is it any more than chicago? who have produced isiah , d rose, d wade? or how about carolina? who have produced mj, garnett, etc. or orlando- who produced vince carter, and t mac. i just think - new york - great city- amazing basketball culture, its the mecca, but it overrates itself in terms of how much nba talent has made it.
just to make my point, croatia- is a country of 4 million people. 4 million!!!! about a quarter of new york city- right? and they've produced like 30 nba players over the years- if they were the size of say- new york? a fifth of the nba would be from there, if they were the size of the usa- half the league would be croat. i know it dosent work like that -but i just never hear about them bragging about how much talent they produce- but new york man- never shuts up bout being new york. i do love new york though.....nothin but love..
"MJ was BORN in brooklyn ... " do you understand i never said anything about him being raised because like the rest of the ppl that liked me reposting my quote ... we like the rest of the world know MJ was raised in NC ... thank you captain obvious, your services are no longer needed
To much hype about basketball, to be real the Nets and the Knicks sucks for a long time, and there are too few players who became relevant NBA champs born and raised at NYC. Im a big fan of the city, but at basketball the truth is, its only a hype.
Brooklyn players are shit. Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair and Lance Stephenson...Brooklyn and the NYC area is a bit overrated. They havn't produced a superstar pro athlete. And please don't tell me Melo and Jordan. They were only born in NYC not raised...
"Spread Love It's The Brooklyn Way"
Sebastian Telfair is a crazy baller. I wish more teams gave him a chance.

Micheal Jordon ?
Carmelo Anthony?
Kareem just told you himself how high of a level basketball is played here. We just don't perfect the craft to transfer it into the NBA I admit.
Christen Code Hold up I take this comment back now that I sat back and watched these videos. We produced HOFs.
Christen Code My bad I didn't watch the video through out...But lately all I seen is Marbury, Telfair and Stephenson and those three are horrible..
