Often in car racing there is a modicum of luck as well as skill and opportunism. And bad luck and less than optimal performance by others.
Lando and McLaren seized the moment. Nice to see. Now the challenge is to repeat this win consistently.

Keep in mind though that WTF1 is owned by The Race. Matt and Tommy established it, but sold it after a while and they've been essentially The Race employees for a good while before striking out on their own.

Soooo, according to Mark, if VER had the fastest car on track & is in 5th place, he would win the race from 5th as he has in the past, no matter where he starts under these new regs. But NOR with the fastest car on track would only have advanced to 2nd or 3rd?!?!!

Why can't we just have minimum lap times for the in and out laps to keep the drivers from going too slowly and potentially causing an accident?
What, a mistake from the safety car and Max hitting a pole that took downforce away from his car is nothing to do with with his car.

i've never doubted Lando's chance to win, he felt always like a Häkkinen type racer.
Max seemed to some what "hold up his pace" and hard tyres could maybe work bit strange at that point of race.
About Bottas, pretty sure this is his last year in F1, sure he would like to drive the 2026 cars but i think their is going to be a some what generation change of drivers like when Albon, Russel, Norris, Leclerc came in.
U need the SAME stewards to have consistency🤘🏻🏁
The same stewards all the time would carry their biases, even unconsciously, from race to race.

Guys Nationality matters when is time to give a penalty, you guys disagree about that coment cause your nationality vert few times get penalized.
So Hamilton bullrun was a misjudgement but got no penalty? So sure nationality matter. Pls be more partial when is time to comment opinions.
Sainz left far more space than Piastri did earlier.
But Piastri also didn't park on top of Sainz's front wing.
@@glenrobinson10 The only reason why Piastri didn't hit Carlos is because Carlos avoided him.
@@petarmaricc9096 doesn't give you the license to be 3-4 tenths behind someone and dive in like a torpedo and lose control of your own car
The new sporting regulations allow a defending driver on the inside to run the driver on the outside out. Piastri was fully within the rules when he ran Carlos wide.
The incident that resulted in contact is not so clear-cut. The rules state certain things with regard to drivers being ahead at the apex. Given that the incident happened before the apex, it's hard to tell exactly who should be given room.
No doubt Carlos was hanging Piastri out to dry, but there isn't really a clear cut yes or no as to whether it was within the rules.
I would categorise it more as "causing a collision" than leaving racing room, but I'm glad the stewards didn't go down this road
@@sleepypixie8828 It dosn't matter how far behind the driver is, Carlos was infront of Piastri when they made contact. Piastri could have avoided that contact, just like Carlos avoided the contact with him. If Carlos deserves a penalty, then so dose Piastri.
I'am really happy for Lando, he deserves it. But he gets a 20!! second gift from the fia before he pits, see lap 28 till 30 when he goes to the pits. I hope and wish Lando gets more wins this year, but on merit, it will mean more to him also.
Maybe watch the Palmer analyses on F1, he explains the saftey car situation very well.
When the saftey car was deployed Lando was about 12 seconds ahead of Max. The pit time under saftey car was 9 seconds.
Also, this happened before, Monza 2022 to if I remeber correctly the last time.
Sometimes the timing in these things is off, it happens.

SC gifted Lando the race win, most undeserving win. Lando didn’t even do any overtakes
It takes more than luck alone to win a race mate, and I think Lando and Mclaren earned this one. Think about it 🤔
