Some of these venues have been consistently great soccer support while some have not. I decided to start keeping a list back in 2015 of soccer games in NFL stadiums (and went back 10 years before that, so I have a list of every soccer game played in every NFL stadium that was built from 2005 onward). So here's the list of the ones that are World Cup venues for 2026.
SoFi Stadium in LA - 72,076 average (2 games)
    AT&T Stadium in Arlington - 62,561 average (18 games)
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford - 59,234 average (27 games)
Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara - 52,077 average (20 games)
    Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta - 49,346 average (106 games)

Denver got screwed over so Kansas City could host. Sorry but Denver is a more beautiful city.

@@ChadeoYT I can expect, appreciate, and respect your sentiment on the matter since you are from Denver but as a neutral (I live in north Mississippi) I have to say that I think Kansas City is a much better option if we're talking about anything other than the scenery (yes, mountains > flat prairie). Kansas City has massively overhauled both their airport and train station which has led to them hosting lots of big time events: World Series and Super Bowl parades, Big XII and NCAA Tournament games, the NFL Draft and now of course the World Cup.
Additionally, Kansas City has proven to be a hell of a soccer town both in terms of support and facilities. The US National Training Center is there and Sporting Kansas City is one of the most consistently supported clubs in MLS and has been for the last decade (national team games also tend to draw very well there). Furthermore the World Cup viewing events in Kansas City at the Power & Light District are legendary and not just for the US games. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Denver where support for the Rapids is practically non-existent. Yes the US had World Cup qualifiers there that sold out in 2013 and 2017 and Nations League games in 2021 (which probably would have drawn better than 35k had capacity restrictions not been in place.....for our safety.....) but Denver is not really a great soccer town.
But I don't blame you at all for being bummed out about it. I would be too. But there will still be an official FIFA fan fest there and while it won't compare to getting actual World Cup games, it could still be fun as hell.

So one thing i have noticed is none of the stadiums used have a mlb franchise. I have to assume that plays a role in why Toronto is using BMO rather then Roger's center. The bmo field gets the same reaction on every video i have seen and thats because the Toronto fc are very much a fourth tier team in the city. The Toronto blue jays of the MLB play effectively across the street in a proper stadium

Denver was on the final list of potential hosts.
Final cuts were Denver, Tampa, Baltimore, and Cincinatti

I appreciate your reaction video, Chadeo. I agree with you that Denver has the mountains and the tourist appeal and a great airport - it would be logical from the perspective of most people to have picked Denver over KC. I think Kansas City was picked for it's high level of soccer involvement and enthusiasm along with top-rate soccer training facilities - Sporting Kansas City & US Soccer's joint National Performance Center, Kansas City Current's (National Women's Soccer League) new training facility, plus Swope Soccer Village (Sporting KC's previous dedicated soccer training faciiity). Kansas City will be the only city in the country with 2 soccer-specific stadiums (Children's Mercy Park and the Current's new stadium under construction - the only stadium in the world built for a women's sports team). Kansas City has the largest youth soccer association in the country (Heartland Soccer Association with 70,000 players). Plus the Hunt family that own the Chiefs have done more to establish professional soccer in the US than anyone - founding the North American Soccer League in 1967 and being involved in founding MLS in 1996 and advocating for it's survival and pouring in additional investment in it when it nearly folded in 2002. For a couple of this year's World Cup games, Kansas City had the highest TV viewership in the country. And FIFA's selection committee is reported to have repeatedly told the KC 2026 bid committee how impressed they were with the committee's level of effort & attention to detail saying, "You guys just want this more than everybody else." Kansas City went the extra mile for the World Cup and FIFA noticed. And KC will be opening a shiny new airport terminal in March 2023 to replace its woeful old terminals. I hope you can make some WC 2026 games in KC - you'll be most welcome! 😃

There was a really good article from Yahoo Sports (think Nick Bromberg wrote it) back in April about how Kansas City has pushed to become a big time sports host town. It went into detail about renovations to the airport, to Union Station and how stuff like that helped land the NFL Draft, NCAA Tournament games, and of course the World Cup

It is being held at a lot of older stadiums here. The Canadian stadiums are small and make me wonder why bother with them.
