  • our mechanic said we needed a rear brake job, he was right! the pads were worn through and the rotors were deeply grooved! Here's how I replaced the pads, rotors and retracted the parking brake piston

Pretty sure the LH and RH on the caliper tool is depending on if your brrakes get retracted clockwise or counterclockwise. Ive done quite a few of these and each side is usually the same so one or the other

@@EATSLEEPFARM this was my first time working on these brakes so I was figuring it out as I went! I was thinking the brake motor ran CW on one side, CCW on the other but I believe you are correct, both sides turn in the same direction!
      Good luck!
      Thanks for watching!

Did you ever put the torx bolt back in the rotor?

Actually, I don’t recall… it really doesn’t serve any function other than holding the rotor in place while putting the rest together. The lug nuts torqued down makes it unnecessary,

You wouldnt be having such difficulty if you had put the vehicle into service mode so the rear E Brake will retract in and not out. As for the front you just do it normal fashion.
