That Black Velvet looks great. For a jewel alocasia that is actually really good growth, if they are not happy they will only keep 1 or 2 leaves at a time and the oldest leaf will die off as soon as a new one emerges.
Don’t worry. Mine was like that for a long time too. Semi hydro works the best for mine. It likes medium to high ish light and needs regular fertilizing. Hope that helps! Happy growing! 😆🪴
lol “it’s come back like a 90’s trend” lol did you know, kids bring back trends every 20-30 years? In the 90’s I was dressing like a 70’s disco and 60’s hippie fiend! Now? I’m going back to the 90’s in my style! I put my two jungle boogies in one pot back to back, it’s a huge full plant now, waiting for my ROFires to get a bit bigger and I’m going to do the same, have you seen the newer ROFires that are covered in the peachy orange variegation? Stunning! The plant is almost all peachy! That’s peachy keen ya? I’m trying my Xanthosoma in leca, my first in soil slowly declined on me, I transferred it to leca and she seems ok, I ended up finding another and potted it up with the old one, we’ll see how they like semi hydro. I had the water level too high for the first plant and started getting root rot, so after potting up the second lowered the level, wish me luck!
Hehe that’s true. When I said it I was referencing a song lyric 😉 Merging plants is a great idea. Less work for you in the long run and a fuller pot 👏🏽👏🏽 Oooo I need to go look out for those newer ones. Mine (since this video) was getting high light and the newest leaf got so orange. 😲 hope to share it soon I’ve noticed the Xanthosoma prefers semi hydro. Much more consistent growth. Hope yours grows well for you. 😆🪴
The Scindapsus dark form does really well for me! I think it is so easy. The dark form and the Moonlight are definitely different though. The dark forms leaves are more upright and thinner and it makes it look very structural. I know a lot of people find it to be slow growing, but I would put it in the moderate category. Mine has been with my phalaenopsis orchids - 60 percent or so humidity and 3000 to 4000 lux.

Ah! Thank you for the reassurance. Hopefully can keep it happy 😆🪴
Your plants are beautiful....your moms' too!!❤❤
Thank you! 🤗🪴
Your Xomantha is what encouraged me to buy mine at a big box store! It hasn't done anything for me yet. But it hasn't died either! So there's that 😂
