Shehla served as the vice-president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union in 2015-16. She has also been an active member of the All India Students Association.
    Shehla recently garnered attention with her remarks praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “What caused my change of heart is the realization that the Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi is a selfless man who is taking radical decisions to transform India. He has braved intense criticism but remained steadfast to his vision of inclusive development that leaves no one behind.”
    In this episode, we delve into Shehla's early life and education, explore her experiences at JNU, and discuss the challenges and triumphs of being a woman in public life. Shehla also shares personal anecdotes about her friendships with fellow activists Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid.

    I am really happy that she didn't go down the dark rabbit hole of communists,she spent time in a premier institute,she can give that knowledge to other students now.... There are many things to criticise the government about ,but to think revolution brings good, then ask middle East....in 2011 they thought that,ask Iraqis who thought America bringing down Saddam would bring change for the better .... Chinese brought change in 1949 and looked how many people disappeared in famines, Bolshevik thought of bringing a utopian world with them,ask Ukraine about that utopia .... Criticise the government but to think a revolution will bring all the good,its just pure insanity

      Even though I’m huge fan of Chacha Nehru but I blame him for implementing socialism even if he did with good intentions. Now we youth will have to get rid of communism from Kerala and Bengal & it just makes me furious that even youth of now in these respected states are falling in the pit of communism.

    Smashing podcast tackling a very interesting guest with a very complicated, barely believable history and polar opposite change. Starting to get quite refreshingly honest and brave takes. Going from the islamist-communist toxic nexus to the more central and logical line is amazing. Very hard to unpick and you did brilliantly. Could be a very inspirational and prominent leader.

    It is convenient to just claim that the students that raised the slogans were not JNU. Separatist speeches have been encouraged and have been voiced from the campus of JNU time and again. If you are organizing a rally, it is your responsibility that such things do not happen. One may argue post consequences and reactions to the slogans raised, it was consciously discouraged and stopped. An example is the Palestinian protests where now participants are asked not to talk about the protests to media or anyone else to expose their ignorance of the issue.
    Sheila Rashid is being a bit disingenuous in claiming JNU campus was not a venue for separatist ideology. Folks such as Arundhathi Roy are platformed consistently at JNU. Indeed freedom of speech implies that we are allowed to hold views and speak our minds. However, encouraging separatism and divisions in social structures are detrimental to society and does not help anyone.
    The left thinks they are intellectual but they are absolutely not. The lens of oppressor and oppressed resumes a socially motivated prejudgment of social structures into a binary category. Instead of calling out systemic discrimination, the left tries to impose a theory of sorts on the existing human condition of discrimination and protection of self interests. When resources are limited and first come first served, people in power are naturally incentivized to create systems that discriminate and preserve their privilege in society. Over time this becomes the norm. If the tables were turned, the so called Pasmandas would be as oppressive. They would engage in similar discrimination. It is not that somehow things would be different. What the left does is take an anecdotal situation an generalize it. It is not my claim that systemic social discrimination does not exist, it does. I am just objecting to the tendencies of the left. They determine what is discrimination. An great example is the men vs women binary. Fundamentally what the left presumes is that there exists some utopia of equality. That is exactly what has come about in modern times. The woke movement is essentially an outcome of this theology. The notion of equal outcomes. Unfortunately nature has a natural bias towards the fittest. One cannot artificially reduce standards or introduce barriers to enforce equality of sorts. This is exactly what has resulted in break down of family structures that is essential for human children. The extreme focus on women's equality and liberation that has resulted in women being force fed the idea that they are useless unless they participate in the Corporate world. Women are useless unless they are generating income is the direct result of such thinking. This idea completely ignores that many women if not most are more geared towards nurturing and raising a family and staying home. What the left does is distort and build an extreme theory that results in extreme social disruptions that are difficult to course correct once embarked upon.
    When left comes to power, it is not anarchy. It is an anarchical dictatorship. Look at what the CPI-CPM and other communist parties have done. Look at the track record of the left wherever and whenever it has been in power. The genocides in the world have happened under the watch of the left.
    As for Kashmir and BJP policy there. The Kashmir issue was not one of general discontent. It was an issue of secessionism both internal and external. It needed a heavy hand and BJP used it. The years of negotiations and mollycoddling that was motivated be misguided left ideology never worked. Imagine this Left does not shun violence if need be. However, given their anarchist lineage, they do not mind secessionist ideas. That is a natural outgrowth of their ideology. They are fundamentally anti-national. They will not tell you that directly, however the end result is the same. The left is really ant-national and anti-society. They are not interested in fixing problems. They are looking for new sources of division and oppressor-oppression mechanics.

    28:54 word of advice for Shehla the analysis you call amazing might actually be the biggest flaw of left ideologies. When you start looking at the world issues in terms of haves and have nots, Oppressors and victims you by default make an enemy faction. Pitting one part of society against the other. This is where Guru Nanak’s non duality could help left a great deal. It says there is no good or evil its all one and everyone has it in them to be either oppressed or oppressor. If we start focusing more on who needs help and not finding factions to blame for misfortunes of others we will stop alienating half the world and instead make everyone agree with what needs to be fixed and how. And I refuse to believe that unless you find someone to blame there is no way you can help people who need help 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Why are Muslim men the mass base of left parties if not to overthrow the state.

    • @asadkadri5887
      @asadkadri5887 2 месяца назад +1

      @nemo-ru9vs around 20 lakh kids enrolled in Madarsa vs 6.6 Cr in schools. So statistically lets not generalise that we dont have education. Quality of education for 6.6 can be questioned. Being a good muslim or an Indian that statement is like saying 3rd world countries should curb their carbon emissions. Reforms are needed in community and in policies to increase inclusivity and not to further the divide. Freedom of Practicing your religion should be given to all.

      This is 2024.

    • @asadkadri5887
      @asadkadri5887 2 месяца назад

      @nemo-ru9vs to answer on increasing inclusivity. I suggest firstly the polarisation of residential areas needs to be dealt with. With communal tension caused by BJP. If you deny then i can’t say anything. Each community is now localised into specific area. Hindus dont get homes in muslim areas and same for muslims. In Vadodara a 38 year old Muslim lady who got a house in a development project was protested by the society and was not allowed to stay in that building. Tolerance will only increase if people live together, study together and hate speech propaganda stops. Where a women has an equal right to either wear or not to wear a Burkha ! If there are 3 more Muslim IAS this year compared to last its termed as UPSC jihad. And believe me these narratives stick with the Majority. Holocaust was not done in a day. It was a systematic attack my polarising the masses.
