Kanhaiya was very smart. He understood very quickly that unless he joins some political party, BJP government will throw him in jail same as they did with Umar. And that's exactly what he did. His entire formative years, he was anti-mainstream political party. Lost all respect for him wheh he joined Congress. But I understand it was a mater of his survival. It's extremely sad and disappointing that he didn't fight to get Umar and Shela released from jail. Even in this interview, he is only talking about himself only. "Hum kagaz nahi dikhayenge" was the common slogan during CAA NRC, well, I am a muslim amd nobody asked me any kagaz. Surely, if immigrants are rushing in the country, they will be asked for documents, as India is a democratic state with law and order, not a shelter home. Even shelter homes might require documentation and identificafion. And why were muslims from Pakistan and Bangladesh were not mentioned as refugees, because muslims in these countries persecuted the minorities there, the Hindus, the Christians and others. Why would India allow oppressors and not the oppressed in take refuge?
