True. And what impresses me is they were the first performance of the night and the last, giving Kirstie plenty of time to hydrate and recover from the first song.
@@marcgarrett4401 What impresses me is that people still believe the narrative that the show sold. I’m not saying Kirstie didn’t get sick, but the show definitely exaggerated it to try to create artificial drama and suspense, like “Can PTX keep it up, and overcome all these obstacles to stay winning?” The answer was still obvious, and it’s “YES!” What’s even funnier about it, is when Scott actually uses the last of his artificially recovered voice at the end of performance 12. He did lose his voice earlier that day, in rehearsal, but the medical team they had access to revived his voice just enough to give out on the last note. The producers had been playing up the drama and obstacles to overcome, but when someone’s voice actually did give out, they downplayed it so hard that it’s just a legend spread by diehard Pentaholics in the comments of reactions. Though after 12, the suspense didn’t matter anymore, so they didn’t want to expose the illusion that they had created. The winner was being voted on, by us, and would be announced (to nobody’s surprise) on the next episode. The only way to build suspense at the point was “Who finished where, and not first, because that’s obvious.”
The most impressive thing about Perfectonix is this is only a few weeks after they formed and already they master arrangements, sound and looks. Keep up the great reactions.
This is one of my faves of their Sing Off performances. You can tell by now that they really love and respect each other as band members and as people. It's so rare to get that feeling about a band, in my opinion. Thank you! On we go to the 9th performance!
I love this one too, that reggae breakdown sealed the deal for me. So this is your fav so far... ummm, I think you may say that for every performance from now on... 😉 Thanks D!
Nice reaction. Thank you. The audience voted for the winner after performance 12. Performances 13 and 14 were on finale night and didn't count. Pentatonix came back to the show, as guests, 3 more times after they won. I hope that you will react to all of their Sing Off performances. Kirstie is a real trooper. She performed almost all of their 2018 Christmas tour with a broken ankle and never missed a show.
I must say D... ever since your first reaction to "Perfectonix" lol, you really were sucked down the very deep rabbit hole! Again, another great reaction...👍
I am not the biggest country fan, although I like a fair amount of the more poppy country songs out there. I’ve always loved this song and they absolutely upgraded it with the reggae feel. Love this one.
My favorite performance is yet to come, I can't wait. I remember watching it that night . I almost fainted on the floor LOL I'll definitely let you know when you get to it. 😎
I like this performance even though it was not the judge’s favs. You nailed it when you said this is a simple vocal performance by 5 very talented people. The problem with these shows it that they force the participants over the top with wardrobe, vocals, choreography, etc. It’s funny to watch now 11 years later to see how they’ve matured as performers.
Hello D. So glad that you are doing the PTX Sing Off journey. Remember after you have completed all 12, there are three more reactions hat you have to do. 1) The PTX winner's performance after they were announced as the winners 2) PTX as guest performances on the following season (with a nice surprise) 3) Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) doing a critique of PTX Sing Off performances about four years after their win (just hilarious). Love your reactions as always. You got my vote for #Perfectatonix.
I never cared for this song by Sugarland. I liked the verses, but didn't like her breakdown. Scott took it to a new level and made it fun.......even tho it was a two note riff for the most part. They could sung a menu and make it great.
This was the 2nd performance of the night (after Born To Be Wild), so Kirstie was still performing while sick! Makes it even more amazing ❤

@@marcgarrett4401 I was so happy that the show did that for Pentatonix and especially for Kirstie.

♥ Every time it's Ben's turn to talk, D looks like, "I wish a mug would." 🤣😂
I don't think D realizes that Ben's critque is the most helpful to the band. One doesn't learn if one is always called perfect because no one is.

Not sure how I haven’t seen this before..like you, it was my first time hearing. Loved it…what sweet kids they were/are.

Just so talented and at the beginning you can hear the future to come..just frickin amazing!
YAY! Back to Sing Off! Loved your reaction ❤ Can't wait for more of your journey with them. #perfectonix 😄
Remember, this is the meat and potatoes of PTX.
Loving this series.
Can’t wait until you see the 12th performance when they release the power of Mitch.
Молодцы!!!!
