Episode-02, 'Bad Traveling' is one of the best if not the best story of an anti-hero character I have watched.
David fincher supremacy
The fact that David fricking Fincher himself directed Bad Travelling is just amazing
The Very Pulse of the Machine is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Incredible!
Bad travelling (ep 2) is directed by David Fincher and stars Troy Baker and Elodie Yung (Elektra from Daredevil series)
I firmly believe that episode 3, "The Very Pulse of The Machine," is THE best Love, Death, and Robots episode of the entire series. It encapsulates the entire essence of the show more than any other episode. Love. Death. Robots. On top of that, it is such an incredibly beautiful and emotionally moving episode. The visuals. The very human story, more human than any other episode in my opinion.
When she asks Io what their function is, and Io replies, "To know you..." Imagine meeting a machine, or even another person for that matter, and having them tell you their whole function - is to know you. Those of us in relationships, regardless of how long it's lasted, I'm willing to bet most of us have never had our partner tell us, that the function of their life, is to know us. How incredible it would be. And then when she expresses the fear that all of us share, not knowing what this life really is, the possibility that it could all be a simulation, or a dream, and not knowing what death really is. Never being able to know until it is experienced, and surrendered to. "Maybe I'm gonna live forever. Or maybe this is just one last dream... Before dying.."
Her oxygen is about to run out, so she's dead either way. She looks up, sees an absolutely awe inspiring mosaic like image of Jupiter, and then take a leap of faith. She's gonna die anyways, might as well go for it, and she falls with her face to the sky, being able to look back at Jupiter as it gets smaller and smaller, until she splashes down into the darkness, and is vaporized in an explosion of light, with her neural configuration preserved.
When I first saw this episode, I honestly cannot describe how moves and awestruck I felt. It connected with me on a level that nothing else has ever connected with me before.
When the song kicks in near the end of the episode it never fails to make me tear up at least a little bit. What a wonderful composition of visuals, sound, and writing.
That episode was really good
Just like you explained that concept of love+death (and robots or machines) is integrated as one so seamlessly. The "love" aspect is the merging together into one being, but they both essentially have to "die" as individuals to become something else entirely: a fusion of human and machine consciousness.
Ep 2 was a masterpiece and then I saw it was directed by Fincher, and I thought 'yep makes sense'

every single on of these shorts can be their own full length animated movie I'll be disappointed if they don't do it.
They never should make it full
It will loose the identity of these short ones
And it will also loose the imaginary climax and ending values
These are those cases where the stories are good being because they're short but once they made full length they might not be.

The thing you explain in the beginning about being confused with the episodes, yeah, same happened to me. I think Netflix did something weird.
its the same thing netflix did with black mirror. they show the more recent seasons first rather than the first one

I wouldn't say I have a "fear" of lots of holes but I get the heebie jeebies when I see a bunch of holes circles. I also don't like to see a massive amount of things either. I remember all these little frogs were outside of my door after a rain storm and I just about list my shit. I'm talking biblical proportions of frogs. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

If you're looking for sustainable survivability you can look at candles lanterns lantern oil and if you're looking at the technology side of it and electric portable generator that can be charged through solar panels and if you're too stupid to figure out those very simple things I say good luck to you😔🤣🤣🤣

During episode 1's discussion, they are describing the corporate elite as being meritorious which is a lie. Meritocracy is the idea that those who have power and money have it because of their merits and hard work. And of course, a little reaching show that nepotism is king. That those that had power handed it out undemocratically and to those they have personal relationships with as opposed to those best fit. It's propaganda that we've all been programmed with.
