This sort of reminds me of my childhood. Back in about 1976 at the age of ten, I was playing with an action man soldier that had a parachute. Many happy hours were spent throwing it out of the bedroom window, then I had the brainwave of making my own parachute from a bed sheet. I climbed up onto the admittedly low roof of a local building, parachute strapped to my back, and proceeded to jump. I think that you can guess the rest!!! Happy days.
Actually, he's very privileged to have access to heavy duty glad bags. The natives of Rapa Nui jump off Rano Kau, their largest volcano, with wingsuits made of Phoenix Petrel feathers, and they don't have parachutes, so they have to land in the water at the base of steep cliffs and those waters are shark infested.
I have a feeling that this pilot refined his design in the Stockholm wind tunnel, and did a few hundred jumps on it out of an airplane first and then a few hundred BASE jumps with it which were not proximity and what we are seeing here is the culmination of all that preparation... Or hell... maybe he just sent it. :-) But that drone footage ... Ho ho... just as amazing!
These guys can fly anything. I bet he jumped it a couple times from a big cliff and got comfortable right away. I highly doubt any drop zone let him in the plane with it. I only say this because I used to jump and it is common practice to take new wingsuits straight to the cliff. 2 of my suits don't even fit skydive parachutes and aren't allowed from airplanes.

adrian nicholas told me to take a plastic carrier bag up freeflying.if you can pass it from hand to hand behind your back and over your head and between your legs then you know you are flying with your body and youll be able to do formations and dock with your hands with other flyers

You can base jump from that spot without a suit too, so it didn't matter how much lift he got.
also you can just do a skydive in one of those and check how it flies
