- Are you tired of controlling your heating manually? Start to heat your home the smart way. Today I'm showing you, how to replace your old TRV with the Eve Thermo smart thermostat. This video covers the unboxing and the whole installation of the Eve Thermo.
By replacing a traditional Radiator Thermostat with a smart thermostat, you can save a huge amount of money. Your heating does not have to run all the time if you are not at home. This means a smart thermostat is basically paying for itself.
Let me know If you have any questions regarding the Eve Thermo or how you can set it up in the Eve App.

Nice video! but does my thermostat that hangs on the wall have to be open all the time?
Great review! Do you know if this would make any difference on an older radiator which the company who I rent my apartment from controls via the temperature outdoors? They turn them on/off from their own central. I can switch from 0-7 on my current trv/raditor heat control thing.
Hey Philip, thank you very much! Well the answers is yes and no 😁. If your landlord turns on the heating in general let's say when it's 8° outside, the thermostats won't make a difference till it's 8° or below. Once the heating is turned on, you'll benefit from the Eve Thermo. With your traditional TRV you'll be wasting a bunch of energy. With the Eve Thermo you can utilize things like Schedules and such. So they should pretty much pay for themselves after one or two heating periods depending on your preferences.
Excellent I can see how that works but what are you using as a relay to switch the boiler on and off? Regards Hugh
Hi Hugh, thank you for your comment. No i don't need to switch on the boiler cause in germany most of the heating systems are controlled through facility management.
@@AttiBear that makes sense, thanks for the reply.
Hi Atti, great review! Two questions: 1. How good is the bluetooth range? I was considering Fibaro solution but they really struggle with more than few meters. 2. Any news on the next generation Eve Thermo with wi-fi connectivity? I believe they would already introduce it if there would be more energy efficient wifi option.
Hey Tomasz, the Thermo received a minor hardware upgrade by the end of last year where they improved on the range. Nevertheless i would recommend using one of their Eve Extends (connects to Wifi). They massively improve the connectivity and reliability.
@@AttiBear Hey! I'm not sure but I think it is now compatible with Thread. That means it has 50m range!
so is there actually a HomeKit support or its controlled just within the app?
It’s fully supported in HomeKit
I connect eve thermo to apple homekit, but it isn't working, can you tell me what do i need to do ? thank you
Can you control it in the Eve App?
@@AttiBear yep
Great review. Told me exactly what I wanted to know - that these devices are Bluetooth only. I will check if Evo has released the WiFi version. If not, I will look elsewhere. Thank you!
Hey Neal, Thank you very much! Unfortunately there's no Wifi Version available yet.
I realize Im kind of off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Zachary Zain try FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Nixon Roger Definitely, have been using FlixZone for years myself :)
@Nixon Roger thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it !!
I'm buying it just bcs of the penguins! Great video, thank you!
Noice! Saving one Pinguine at a time 😉
It works great and very responsive in Home App
Nice video!! I have a Apple tv4k as a HomeKit hub but because this are Bluetooth enabled does it needs my phone to by in the range or the Apple tv4k does the job to control them remotely??
If the Apple TV is in range you can control it remotely from anywhere. If not, you can use their extenders which are connected through wifi. They can control up to 8 devices.
Does the valve have a lock? So that my child doesn't play with it in the children's bedroom? Thanks
Not a physical one, but there's a child lock feature in the Eve App 😉
How is the battery life?
It’s actually surprisingly good 😉. By the end of the heating season I had to change it for the first time
@@AttiBear but when was the start point? did the batteries live for 2 or 6 months...?
It was more like 10-12 months
@@AttiBear Wow thanks!! Amazing:) and do you k ow what is the best security camera on the market? That maybe could stream vids straight to the icloud or something.. there is much bullshit with paid memberships... have a nice day;)
All the EVE Thermo ads and video's fail to cover and show one very important things. If 2 rooms have 2 different temperature set (example : 1 room on 18 deg Celsius and the other room at 20 deg Celsius ) how do they talk to the boiler, and what temperature efficiency is the boiler working at?. How does the TRV valves talk to the boiler?
They don’t connect to the boiler at all. They only adjust the individual valve. So if you have two valves in one room each one will be adjusted separately unless you have a HomeKit enabled thermostat that controls both of them
You set the boiler to a certain temp yourself. The thermo will turn up or down the temp individually.
WiFi? Are you sure?
They were discussing Wifi as on option for a while but for now it seems they didn't pursue it.
@@AttiBear Thread !
True but If you already have a lot of accessories that pre date Thread, you'll probably have a hard time reaching your Thread HUB (eg. HomePod Mini)
@@AttiBear what about thread ???!!
As I said…
