The idea that the crowd was flat for Bowie after Queen is just not true. Bowie delivered big time! He brought the house down with Heroes. Tremendous performance.
No queen delivery big times
Karamjit Singh ......... 🙄
@@kikit7262 they're not mutually exclusive... They can both delivered big time you know
@@kikit7262 really? Because the crowd seems to tell different

Literally a fashion icon
There's no literally! He made a fashion back then. He was fashion during 70-80s.

I was lucky enough to be in that crowd...Great memories of a legend.
R1200GSAontour your actually super super lucky, queen, zeppelin(even tho that was mess), and Bowie absolutely incredible
@@bengerard9632 Led Zeppelin performed in Philadelphia that day not Wembley.
R1200GSAontour oh sorry I was confusing that with the Philadelphia one, my bad
That's just so cool. I can't get over Queens performance. I just wish I could say the same.
Lucky so and so 😂 so jealous
I'd give *anything* to go to the 1985 Live Aid
Kat Wolf me too
same. I would even sell my soul to devil
@Bruno Jimmy bold of you to assume I have any sort of dignity. I did say anything, especially if it's to see David Bowie and Queen live on the same night
Even if you would lose your ability to hear? :P
@@trustnugget280 yeah sure, after the live aid...
I'm sure I would lose it during tbh

If anyone was going to follow Queen at Live Aid, it's Bowie! xxX
Who else seriously wishes that him and Queen had performed under pressure at live aid?
Yup...I just don't get why they never did
@@my2randomcents they are only aloud a specific amount of time and maybe they just didn't want to.
@@my2randomcents Because each of them had their own business, schedules, tours..
@@my2randomcents Because David didnt like the song. He didn't like how he performed on it and even wanted to be put out entirely. Thats why the whole song is credited to Queen only
Probably everyone lol
the ultimate look of happiness and excitement on his face is priceless

I sure do miss that guy.
me too with Freddie
All of us do
The only person who could perform after queen
that's because god was freddie mercury that night and he enjoyed his time so much that he decided to be bowie as an encore.
He nailed it.. and greattt !!! I love Queen too
@@thevoid99 bruh I saw the original comment on a different vid. You copied this
@@gabecuarez2598 nailed it
Then you must be deaf.
The thing about Bowie is that he was in a league all his own. It wouldn't have mattered had he come on before or after Queen, because all he wanted to do was present Bowie. And that was, quite simply, the brilliant best!!!!
I thought there's gonna be David Bowie in Bohemian Rhapsody movie
he was there for like a split second at the opening seq lol
@@milkkorea eh, really? Which scene?
I didn't notice before..
ALgojone Jr. A photographer says something like ‘Look over here, David’ If you pay attention you’ll see it haha
@@milkkorea yeah but no face reveal tho
ALgojone Jr. He is, but you can’t see his face, just his blue suit
The guitar is just legendary in this track.
Ikr, David himself is the one who created that
Yeah, they were ahead of the trend on that one, very proto-punk.
Great riff, but too fast here compared to the original.
and to think that in the original studio version it is David playing it... it is a simple riff, but absolutely genius, how he uses open strings and bends on the low G
He came right after Queen and he didn’t let down
He never did ❤
Listening to Bowie always makes me smile. I don't know why and how but, my heart fills with hope. All the stress I have goes away and I finally become able to put my thoughts in order. Such a lovely gentleman. He's one of the most extraordinary and ispiring people.

Agree! Love how he says “God bless you” to the crowd at the end.

I lament that I never got to see this colossus of a man in concert.
Oh geezus I am truly sorry that you didn't...All I can say is you really missed an amazing concert...any of his concerts were amazing...
I saw him in Syracuse NY it was great. I worked construction all day in Buffalo, picked up friends in Rochester, drove to Syracuse and drove home.....I was young and it was possible then.
Saw him twice in concert, both times in 1974, once in Toledo, and once in Detroit. Totally different concerts.
Saw him 4 times here in Germany.....Sorry!
Saw him twice ! In Paris 😉
David Bowie became such a likable guy compared to his early days. He improved as a person to be an example in the society.

Well we all know Bowie loved him some chocolate 😘
@@moseschrute that's like saying "we all know bowie liked slaves"
Bit of a disrespect to his beliefs.
He was disgusted by the racial inequality of the time, he would go on TV Interviews and criticize them for only featuring white people.
True a man ahead of his time
@@ianbarbieri7159 That seems somewhat understated - Washington DC has often been referred to as "Chocolate City" by African-Americans for decades, due to the cultural, political, and economic prominence of Black people there. I don't think it's akin to saying "Slave City."

Amazing how he still kept the momentum of the crowd especially after the brilliant performance of Queen.
Notice how the crowd is fully present in the moment enjoying it completely, not just videoing it on their cell phones. Kids this is how to live your best life, not what you are doing now all day on tiktok and other social(ist) media.
I love how the back up singers were giving it their all
Omfg! They drive that train in 'heroes ' so powerfully. Then party like crazy at the end. Love. Love. Love them❤
I love how happy David is haha
After all these years I’d like to thank David Bowie for opening up my mind and musical taste. In the late 60’s and early 70’s I listened to The Who, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Alvin Lee, CSNY, Simon and Garfunkel.(!) Led Zepplin, you name it. First Rock concert was The “Who’s Next” tour in 71 in Boston. Then in the spring/summer of 73, listening to WBCN, a song with a hard driving beat, like nothing I had heard before came on and I was like “who the hell is this”? “Panic in Detroit”/David Bowie caught my ear in a way that wouldn’t ever happen quite like that again. So thanks Ziggy, for opening me up to not just another genre of music, but being more open to all music. Thanks for turning my ear to Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Alice Cooper and a hundred other bands. And of course thanks for this great “Rebel Rebel”
Bowie and his thousand watt smile and otherwordly talent. Man I miss him.
David Bowie is where it ALL started , groups learned from , got advice from, including Queen. Off course there were groups before but no one did it better. He was the original master showman and performer. No one has reinvented themselves and music more.
Hummmm Queen became bigger, in my opinion..
Yeah, and I’m kinda sick of this whole new Queen fad.
@@arthurmorgan319 LOL Queen was already the greatest long before this "new Queen fad"..
Queen is a great band but I think that band is overrated
@@jhoemabunga8862 No way.. If you think this way is because you haven't seen Queen enough.. haven't seen many of Queen concerts, especially the 70's ones.. They were perfection, they built the group to be the best, that's what they worked for, were true monsters on stage, the four of them were songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and except for John, they all could sing very well.
A revolutionary band, pioneers in producing a music video out of a single. Freddie was THE BEST EVER as a frontman and singer, he broke all the barriers, he built an amazing and charismatic persona since the very beginning. He could sing everything. Brian can create a layered orchestration with his homemade guitar LIKE NO ONE!!
Their Love Of My Life perfomance at Rock In Rio with Freddie conducting over 100.000 people (who were not english people) to sing HIS song is considered as a legendary performance until these days, as much as the Live Aid concert which was considered by the organizers of the event themselves the best perfomance of that night (among Bowie, U2, Dire Straits, McCartney, Elton John and many others). 20 fucking minutes was enough for Queen to make the greatest rock concert in History..
Either in the studio or on the stage, Queen was a HUGE band. For me, the greatest of all by far.
Oh David... you are so missed
Yes He is!
1985
There’s a reason why Queen, U2, Elton John and David Bowie had such long careers. They were just amazing performers. 😀
Only Bowie the complete song writer

And Elton is still making music...amazin. From different planet, all of them
I wish they could perform under pressure song with queen . It will be so epic!

@@Basmasadon We know what you mean!

You are a rebel mr. Jones...and a starman..and a dude...and an hero...and the one... love Bowie
Lucky enough to be able to have watched Live Aid on TV back in 85. Fabulous memories. There'll be nothing like this ever again. A unique piece of history. Unforgettable.
I was 24 and mates and I drank beer and smoked ones and watched this live all night in Perth Western Australia. My only regret in life is not being there live. Queen, Freddy and Bowie, all time favs
He is so underrated as a singer. To go out there and deliver like this. It's not easy. Check out the Led Zep performance for proof of that
I agree that he is underrated as a singer, but you can not really compare, LZ material is a bit harder to sing...
The woman on sax is killing it 👍
Clare Hirst. She is still performing.

I am so lucky that my life happened in a time and space window in which Bowie existed.
Great performance by David Bowie! Great show he put on too!
His energy was amazing
David Bowie, what a funky guy. The moves, the attitude, the voice. Everything is so groovy.
He rocks it looking suave in that cool grey suit R.I.P. DB 🙏🏼
Bowie is fabulous.
REBEL-REBEL!🎸🎸🎶🎼🎵
Tessa Niles (the blonde backing singer) what an amazing professional. Great voice great person.
Did David actually know how much this song meant to us young teens? It meant so much now I'm 21 and still am that rebel... I hope he knew how much this song impacted many.
Guy was and always will be a complete legend, everyone in ore of him... Always put on the best performances
Had to follow Queens iconic performance he killed it!Talent!
I was there ..bowie was amazing and the crowd went wild ....please remember it was a very hot day and very squashy.....
Bowie has an unusual impact. He can save the balance of being modest and the stage-ego. That makes him special. You know, some artists are in love with showing themselves, and showing the passion of "showing themselves." Mercury is like that. (I don't say this is bad, of course, singers have stage-ego and this shows their styles.) And some of them are just modests. But Bowie still seems modest while he performs with his charisma!

The ONE and only concert where I felt just one thing: WE are the world. These times will never come again. So sad !!!!!
forever jealous of everyone watching this concert
For me the best performance of them all that day, inc Queen. Bowie/Dolby wow.
The people who disliked it were jealous that they weren't at the concert
Bowie really is the best in David Bowie karaoke
My favorite Bowie song. Truly rebellious and Bowie was searching his sexuality while writing this song. It changed how people viewed about homosexuals and transgenders. This song is groundbreaking and Bowie is a revolutionary
Love this guy - another legend gone too soon 😫😫

He followed Queen but he was David Bowie and was brilliant as always. Yes Queen were brilliant and stole the show but this was David Bowie who came out and gave as good as them. Miss both of them, died too young. Back to back the greatest performances ever.
i never want to complain that i was born too young but i really do wish i can time travel and get to experience all 4 beatles, queen, bowie, pink floyd, led zeppelin, and other legends that have passed and there's no other way for me to see them anymore. i'm lucky enough to have internet but unfortunate to never experience something like this.
Literally how did no one think to have Queens set end with under pressure with them starting off by themselves then right when the lyrics start Bowie comes out from the side and belts out “PRESSURE” and they do that as a transition between them
Queen was an industry pariah for their Sun City gig. The movie left a lot out
I was there and it was incredible, of course the sound live is very different from the analogue recording of the song. A privilege for sure :-)

David, the first time I heard this,it became MY ANTHEM.
What a great event! Was part of the staff that drove down from the Hard Rock in NYC to Philadelphia to serve food for the Roadies and working stiffs backstage. Phill Collins was the one performer who played in both London and NYC -- using the Concord to fly West. I got to take a break during the set of Judith Priest. They blew the stage apart. One of the great memories of my life, needless to say.
Terrific!!,, dancing!!,, high performance!! This is beyond us's reach,, perhaps is a knock towards soul .. Rebel Rebel!!!
It's crazy to think that this was only ten years after Young Americans and Fame came out.
