This is fascinating! Benoit must have felt elated. Dynamite was clearly not that developed on the mic, there’s no dramatic delivery, but that adds to the raw reality of it. Kind of haunting.
I was watching a video of Chris Benoit crime scene pictures, and in it there’s a case of the shoes with a picture of benoit and dynamite. Crazy how benoit kept them after so many years, it must have meant the world to him to get these
The thing is the rabid Wolverine (Chris Benoit) dedicated all his young life watching and learning from Dynamite Kid (Tom Billington). Benoit idolized Dynamite and you can see him as a child watching Dynamite in the stands at Stampede wrestling. While Owen and Bret took a little from Dynamites style, Benoit wanted to be Dynamite. I was blessed to be at the pavilion every Friday to watch Stampede wrestling and to talk to all the wrestlers.
When I was a kid, I loved the British Bulldogs and cried when they lost the WWF tag team belts to the Hart Foundation. I knew what Davey Boy did afterwards in the 90s but Dynamite was my favorite and I always wondered what became of him so I looked him up. 35 years later and I’m pleased to hear that 10 year old me wasn’t fooled. To hear how highly regarded Dynamite Kid was by those in the industry is pretty cool.
he sounds sober aswell his speech isn’t slurred a lot , he sounds out of breath since he just wrestled not drunk, clearly sour grapes from whichever member of the hart family towards tom
The absolute greatest worker of all time. I can’t even think of a close second. Maybe Brett Hart; who coincidentally learned everything from Dynamite. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.
Davey, Owen, Beniot..... they all tried to be like Dynamite. There facial expressions, move sets, delivery, etc. For me they are in the top.10, maybe top 5 of all time. But still nowhere near, not even close to the Dynamite Kid
@@neilclark1681 Haha nah, we never did that and by that point he was very unwell. He did ask if I had any money on me which I didn't at the time. He loved horse steroids, learned from Harley Race apparently

Wow. Literally passing the "torch".

huh?
Um.... that's not what literally means, Monsoon. 😂

British wrestling was always about the in-ring stuff. Promos were never needed for our audience back in the day. He was the real deal!
Well Chris Benoit took everything from the dynamite kid a complete carbon copy
He got his point across just fine
If he was in wwe today he coulda just been one of those guys who made u believe shit was real
Dynamite's interviews as a heel were pretty good. He just wasn't a good babyface.
Wow I saw those boots in one of the crime scene photos. Unbelievable.
I thought you were joking. Holy crap
He was right. Benoit became one of the big superstars of the 90s
@b s
Not the biggest, but he was a well known name that time
00s
Now he is well knows as a murdered
No Benoit was a mid-card lower card jobber in the 90s he became a main event guy in a top star in the 2000s
benoit was an above average jobber in wcw

In one of the Hart books, they claimed Dynamite was stone drunk when he did this interview, he sure looks sober to me.
Not really. He was slurring like a bloke who's had one too many pints

No, it was Ring of Hell.

That is really fucking cool. I never knew this went down.
In a 2001 interview Benoit said he still has those boots.
Search Benoit, dynamite kid 2001 interview , it's very interesting.
Saw a video of the Benoit crime scene in 07 and there is a image with the boots so Benoit kept it till his death
Haunting.
Benoit was my childhood hero and I was born in Wigan England so Kid was always around at the local shops. This makes me feel sickened watching this

Considering their family lives coming out in the open. I guess "the torch" was definitely passed.
In real, chris benoit is dynamite kid imposter

Kurt Angle mentioned TNA on Raw.
Stampede definitely didn't have a relationship with the WWF at this time. Maybe a few months in 1984, but definitely not after. This was 1989.
He did
When was this?

He didn’t die suddenly, he’d been close to death for a few years prior
2018 is way before it was fashionable to die suddenly.
Mr charisma, he was not.
Who is this Crisp Enoit they speak of?
If you go back in time to this year and tell 1989 Chris Benoit That going to do horrible things to his wife and son and kill himself what would he say
He would be shocked and say it’s rubbish and maybe would not wrestle
