    Oh, I love that: "You can't heal where you became sick."

    I remember watching that game. So glad that she realized that she couldn't recover where she was and decided to make the move to OU. Paige is a true inspiration. She deserved to be the first overall pick in the National Pro Fastpitch League.

    It's idiotic that they let her go back in that Oregon game and never even tested her for a concussion.

    • @Cissy2cute
      @Cissy2cute 5 лет назад +10

      A person who had been hit in the face like Paige (where a concussion was almost 100% assured) is not capable of making a rational decision. Not just the impact but the shock of having been hit interferes with judgment. Shame on all those involved that let her back on the field instead of taking her to the nearest hospital for testing.

      not only that but the docotrs didn't fully check her out thoughlly I think all should be glad Paige shared her Story, I am please she did i can understand why she have hard time but i am glad she better now

    Shame on Earleywine for putting her back out in the Oregon game without going through any concussion protocol.

    • @critter2
      @critter2 5 лет назад +3

      exactly that part of big problem its more common now, even in youth we have to make sure if were doing states with babe ruth softball you have to go through test to understand concussions i got to give OU credit here big time

    That was painful to see her getting hit. Paige, so sad you had to go through all of that. So glad you ended up at OU under a great coaching staff and were able to get back to pitching. Thank you for 2 great years here, it was a pleasure watching you play. Bless you!

    How can anyone give this video a thumbs down... Great video and I'm glad she didn't give up and she started a new chapter! It was disappointing to see her former coaching staff kept her in the game. That was totally CRAZY.

    Awesome story. So proud of you. My 12 year daughter watched this with me and neither of us knew your softball story. She started pitching last year. It has been exciting. Thanks for sharing because it opened our eyes a little more. Good luck! GO OU!

      I am glad you and daughter watch it, as youth umpire we alaways cocern for safety some leauges require facemask others don't but i mostly see people wearing them in the infield you better off.

    There are people that sustain a concussion and hardly show the sign, this poor girl was literally showing all the sign and they went ignored, if I was an athlete at that school I’d be looking for a new school, so glad you got the help you desperately needed, best of luck.🇨🇦

      I think she should've pitched at least once so she was sacred to death. She definitely should've been done something with concussions and stuff.

    I sustained a nearly identical injury 10 years ago and I'm still in pain. As time goes on, my eye injury actually gets MORE noticeable. I hate seeing pictures of myself because I can slowly see the decline and it scares me. Nothing to do since I'm fortunate enough to still have vision!
    Good for you for sticking with the sport. I found your story researching treatment for myself tonight, and I pray for you dear girl. It seemed as though I was perfectly fine for about 3 or 4 years until my globe started settling into the fractured floor.

    Not in this world, ahhhh yep, sounds like traumatic brain injury. I see date of 2018 if this happened in 18, the coach, trainer, highest ranking member of AD office who was there, all need to go to jail....SHAME

      Well, the AD moved onto Baylor for the same position. And the head coach just got hired as Mississippi's assistant coach. Not sure about the trainer. But, yeah... that's how athletics goes. Sickening.
