Q. Why isn’t ‘Off to the Vet’ available in full on RUclips?
A. ‘Off to the Vet’ film production and crowdfunding campaign was a huge undertaking for the Simon’s Cat Team. Our hope is to produce more long form, full colour content for our fans but without having to turn to them through crowdfunding again. The film was completed in 2015 and submitted it to a selection of international film festivals over the following months. During this time it was exclusively available to all funders that contributed via our private production blog. The feedback we have received from our funders has been overwhelming positive and we hope they are extremely proud of making the film a possibility. Q. What software do you use?
A. Simon's Cat is made using Adobe Flash / TV Paint animation software.
Q. Why does it take so long to make each Simon's Cat film?
A. Even though the films are made on computer software, they are still hand-animated in a traditional manner, frame to frame. It usually takes between 12 and 25 drawings to create 1 second of a Simon's Cat film.

My cat sounds so much like Simon's cat. He makes the same sort of sounds. Just a very similar "voice.". He'll also tap me on the shoulder with his paw to wake me up so I'll get his breakfast! He even looks something like Simon's cat -- but he's thankfully nowhere near as destructive!! Enjoy your break!!

Emeric Switch they have lives too you know. He's not running a sweatshop so having a crew doesn't warrant people expecting them to spew out animation like fast food. This is a craft which is beautiful and made with love which is uniquely on par with the original tom and jerry if not better.

This is so true to life! I once owned a large, long haired orange/ginger cat. He wanted my attention so much while I was using my computer that he tried to jump on top of it. He tried. Instead, he knocked it to the floor-irreparably broke it! I had to buy a new one. Cats want to be in the middle of whatever you’re doing!

This is by FAR the best Simon's Cat ever.
We also had two cats, both boys. Sherlock was 4 and Tiggy was 6 month old kitty. Drove Sherlock nuts coz he was the only cat for 4 yrs, then we rescued a kitten that we saw in a box on the side of the road. Poor lil guy was full of fleas and had a broken tail.Vet fixed him up all good and we took him home and named him Tiggy. Cute lil kitty, we loved them both even if Sherlock didn’t wanna share me with Tiggy. In time we’d see them sleeping all curled up together. They both passed away yrs ago. Sherlock in 2012 and Tiggy in 2016, both lived to 16 and 18 years old. We were devastated after losing Sherlock, I cried for months. He was more than just a cat to me,, he was my furbaby. Then when we lost Tiggy, it was just the worst day of my life. Now we have no more pets, we finally got to go on holiday. But now we are adopting again. And getting a doggy too. A Rotti pup and two more cats coz u need to adopt cats in pairs. We will be a fur family again

Lol. So accurate. I’ve had cats my whole life (78) and still do. I’ve developed a routine getting them in the cage, it’s called a sneak attack, be quick and shove them into the cage. Don’t let them see the cage beforehand. Lol. Also traveled on the plane with one. I was more upset than the cat. Security was very understanding and provided a room where I took her out of her carrier and they screened the carrier.

Yep! That’s exactly the case at my place. So much though that, when I have guests, and I have to go to the washroom, I close the door (of course). Since my cats (2) don’t understand the concept of privacy, they wait at the closed door expecting me to open it. At the amusement of my guests, they look like they are waiting for their turn to go.

@@leabracker9528 I had a poodle mix from a puppy mill, he was cross between a standard and a miniature poodle. It was like having a 5-year kid, you had to be on your toes all the time. I mlost him 12 years ago at aged 15.

i understand the reason for compilations, it's insanely stupid how unsupportive youtube is of quality content, but i think many people would appreciate if the compilations were titled accordingly as opposed to almost as if it were a new episode
Uploads have been more consistent over the last years. And I would love to see the "old" Simon's Cat. Just animations, no compilation, no interviews, no logic, no behind the scenes. Keep it simple!

I know the struggle of diversifying a RUclips channel myself. As a content creator, I want to explore new stuff and show my viewers things that I am interested in.
But at some point you should realize if the direction of your channel is appealing to your viewers or not.
In this case, I think Simon took the wrong way with way too many videos besides the "original" cartoons. I agree that behind the scenes and cat logic can be interesting, but it starts to become annoying if there is absolutely no creative and original content coming for a long time now. And the amount of reposts or compilations takes away the excitement in seeing a new video in the sub feed.
DSP What? Is it too dufficult to read the Headline and avoid clicking? If it is too much effort to scroll over it, you could cancel your subscription instead of telling him how, what and when he should post videos. Every viewer has another opinion. How can he listen to every single one. He is doing what he wants to do with his channel. Grow up!

Once he's out, he turns right around to come back in. Once back in, he's back at the door to go out. Over and over and over - again - ... Having just had my cat literally saved from death by my amazing vets last week, your vet clip had me in stitches and crying with laughter! Thankfully my Charles is not as bad as that! And is hoped to also make a full recovery from his ordeal

WhyMake because the process of animating a new video takes so long that he can't regularly put out new content. He doesn't have a very big team of animators and he puts alot of work into it. But he wants to put content out regularly so he makes compilations. Its unfortunate he cant upload new conent more but its like with any animated tv show making one episode takes alot of time.

well, i stopped watching midway and unsubbed. i don't mind waiting a bit longer for him to finish new clips, but being constantly baited with "new" old stuff is not okay in my book. and i can't even remember the last time when he uploaded new content. this is not the channel i once sbscribed to, so i am going to take my leave.
