I cannot disagree with your list because you were so spot on with your top 2. Any list of greatest guitarists (sans classical virtuosos) that did not have Stevie just behind Hendrix loses my interest. But, there is a warning here. When you are guitarists as great as Hendrix and SRV you will live a short life. Why? God wants them in His band.
N1 Jimi Hendrix N2 Jimmy Page N3 Chuck Berry N4 David Gilmour N5 Eddie van Halen N6 Jeff Beck N7 Eric Clapton N8 Carlos Santana N9 B B King N10 Keith Richards 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Check out Rolling Stone magazines recent top 50. Be warned, you make have a stroke. Here's a sample - Eric Clapton is number 37. Two spots below Jack White.
Hendrix number #1 greatest guitarist 🎸 of all time touches the depth of my ❤️ immensely WOW ❗❗❗but what I really can't understand is how. Prince " Purple Rain" Nelson 💜 🟣 💜 💜 🟣 never ever made anyone's list ❓❓❓❓the 👞 man was literally a legendary musical artist and phenomenal musician of a guitarist 🎸 he could play and record anything i mean absolutely anything 😢😦😢why in God's name would anybody wanna EXCLUDE this beautiful muti-talented 👞 man from the list of all time greatest guitarist ❓❓❓
I don’t agree with all the list and the order . However I think a lot has to do with the era in which we are referring to the guitar player. For example, what was an excellent guitar player in the 1920s would be laughed at now however, for that period of time they had the most skills. And its very much on personal preference Slash being number 20. I’d have him close to number one on my list. I can listen to him play all day long, but Duane Allman , Santana and many of the others? . I don’t think they would make my top 20 or even top 30 not that they bad guitar players it’s just not my thing. I’d rather listen to others much more than a bunch of these that are on here . Lists like this are very subjective. I also think a lot to do with these lists have to do with the age of the person making the list. Has anyone listened to Joe pass? He’s an unbelievable jazz player and the way he handles. The guitar is mesmerizing. No one would put him on this list. And for me while Jimi Hendrix was very inventive and a pioneer as it relates to the electric guitar very little of his music interests me .
Jimi is always on the top of these lists. No one can match him for innovation and originality. There are plenty of people around who can play circles around him technically.
You forgot the guitarist my channel pays tribute to: Roy Buchanan. It's ok, he was known as the World's greatest "unknown" guitarist, you are forgiven.
eric clapton best attribute: phrasing hendrix best attribute : everything that s crap!! clapton is a much better blues player than hendrix who was just a savage
@@ElizaM88 clapton already said that jon mayer is a monster. it goes to show that eric doesn t realise how good he is! i suffered a lot in my life and got addicted to the blues since the age of 15 and i listened to all of them but he s the one touched my hearted the most even if he s not the fastest guitar player
The guy you put at number one cannot tune his guitar so how he be number one. Plus were was Steve howe or pat Matheny they were no jazz guys on here at all
Roy was great. Speaking in terms of fact is kinda silly though. These things are by their nature a subjective matter of opinion. A hard rock fan wouldn't rate Roy and a country fan wouldn't care about Hendrix or Van Halen. Glen Campbell was pretty great too!
Should say "Rock" guitarists because there are tons of jazz, fusion, bluegrass and classical guitarists whom are better than most of the guitarists on this list. Also this is mainly a list of famous guitarists, not necessarily the best. Jerry Garcia is pretty average and Stevie Ray Vaughn sounds like a cleaner version of Albert King/Jimmy Hendrix - not really original.
Ahhhh....… This list is disappointing to say the least. In reality you cannot possibly place one above the other because the list will always be subjective. Except for Hendrix at number one. In another list I read J. Beck was above Stevie Ray Vaughan as well as Slash ... Really !!!! I can't take these comparisons anymore. Stevie could of been second under Hendrix had he lived. Hendrix died young, but he was from another planet. Some would disagree with this, that's why its all subjective. Hendrix and Vaughan were the GOATS !!!
Buckethead is the true #1, and he isn’t even on the list. Unbelievable. You know he has hundreds of albums released right? You know he could do everything ever other guitarist on this list could do, but not ONE OF THEM could do what he does? And he isn’t even on the list…wow. EDIT #1: BH literally replaced slash and was technically 100x better than him, and slash is #20 on the list lol. EDIT #2-meanwhile John Meyer is on the list lol
Who put this list together some sort of comedian? The theme of this video is guitar playing and somehow prince is placed near the top when the likes of lukather, gary moore, al di meola and malmsteen would play him under the table yet these guys dont even make the list? This is not about how famous or influential someones standing was in the music business. Its about guitar playing period. This selection needs some serious adjusting
You know what makes this list so wrong? Prince could play all types of guitars WELL, and most guys on this list could not. That’s why you don’t know the artistry of Prince Rogers Nelson.
What would you change on this list?👇
The order.
Someone has to go to make room for Angus Young. Slash deffinately not worthy of this list. Prince ahead of EVH??? Not a chance.
Slash George Harrison Steve Vai much higher and chuck berry Duane Allman too
Terry Kath of Chicago Jimi even said that he was better then him.
Alex Lifeson and Tommy Bolin
Pretty reasonable list. Order aside I’d replace Jerry Garcia and Prince with Gary Moore and Peter Green.
For me Green,Gallagher,Blackmore....
Gary Moore was great, but I always forget him.
#1 Eric Clapton # 2 Jeff Beck #3 Derek Tucks #4 David Gilmour #5 BB King # 6 Budy Guy # 6 Santana #7 Gary Clark Jr. Love them all Eric will always be #1 in my book.❤Forever Fan ❤
1.David Gilmour
2.Jimmy Page
3. Jimi Hendrix
..
Eric Clapton way below
I'd definitely put Mark Knopfler in the top 10.... But not a single mention of Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Peter Green or Johnny Winter.
It's a lot of different styles. You have to have yngwie on the list for what he did for neo classical.
Eddie at #8 is insane. But the list has more credibility than any other simply for not having Keith Richards on it.

Clapton is ahead of SRV!
5. Synester Gates (Avenged Sevenfold)
4. Nita Strauss
3. Kirk Hammett (Metallica)
2. Nancy Wilson (Heart)
1. Jimmy Page (Zeppelin)
N1 Jimi Hendrix N2 Jimmy Page N3 Chuck Berry N4 David Gilmour N5 Eddie van Halen N6 Jeff Beck N7 Eric Clapton N8 Carlos Santana N9 B B King N10 Keith Richards 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Finally svr gets into the top 5

WOKE Rolling Stone is punishing Clepton for his COVID-19 comments. They have Jerry Garcia ahead of him lmao...
Duane Allman #14... you are high! Dude is top 2 or 3, all time!!!!
EVH only number 8? You’re high..
Hendrix, Van Halen e Malmsteen. O resto é uma mistura desses ai.
you know it's coming....sighs.....EVH influenced decades of playing and millions of players....#7 won't cut it.
Well we all know EVH did not influence SRV ☮️
Nils Lofgren, solo and played with Springsteen's e street band and Neil Youngs Crazy horse band, you won't get bigger than those to artists and bands.
Syn Gates
Song iconic : Bat Country
Attribute : Harmonic

You better have Jimi first. There was no other man on this planet that was close to him. 😮
Jimi is always on the top of these lists. No one can match him for innovation and originality. There are plenty of people around who can play circles around him technically.
This list is a Sorry one! Your missing some great one's and you need to take 15 of them out of list!😊
Classifica ottima
Slash? Seriously? There are a 1,000 guitarsts he could'nt carry their cases much less play with. 1:15
Thank you, I was saying the same thing
Ever watched Roy Clark

The best ever and forever is the great iris wizard rory gallagher
Bonamassa?
Excellent player, but did he do anything new that Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, etc didn't do before?
EVH AT 8 HE SHOULD BE AT 1
😂😂😂😂😂😂
To all you complaining: at least Keith Richards and Pete townshend aren’t on it
Or Ace Frehley
eric clapton is the best by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!
Clapton himself said he had to walk away when SRV was playin. He was that jealous of him, his words not mine.

Check out the Rolling Stone list. Your head will explode.
Prince doesn't deserve to be in the in the top 20, but ahead of Eddie and right behind Page is outright blasphemy.
PRINCE IS NOT BETTER THAN EVH ARE YOU ON CRACK
Go watch his preformance when George Harrison was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame then come back.
You are wrong. You truly don’t know Prince’s music. This list is NG=Not Good.
The guy you put at number one cannot tune his guitar so how he be number one. Plus were was Steve howe or pat Matheny they were no jazz guys on here at all
just look at the list as who was great and not by what number they were at.
No ALVIN LEE no list.
Setzer, Danny Gatton, James Burton, Les Paul aren't there.
No way to put all the greats on a list of 20.
Buckethead ?😡
Jerry Garcia above Steve Vai LOL
Roy Clark is the greatest guitar player ever. That's a fact.
Roy was great. Speaking in terms of fact is kinda silly though. These things are by their nature a subjective matter of opinion. A hard rock fan wouldn't rate Roy and a country fan wouldn't care about Hendrix or Van Halen. Glen Campbell was pretty great too!
Everybody has a List , this isn't too bad . But Prince , LOL !!! ... NOPE ! No body cared until he died . And Johnny Winter >>> SRV imo !
You have no idea about Prince. Since his debut album in 1978 he's been shredding.
Yes, you are clueless. Prince was our modern-day JIMI. You definitively don’t know what you’re talking about.
