There's relief for a second when the FEV reject finally goes down, finally. But then he just has to ruin it one last time. The Chosen One directs his forces. Marcus flings debris out of the way. Sulik covers them as they run. K9 has his nose to the ground. Cassidy is right by the Chosen One's side, arguing every step about which way is right. After a lot of bullets, a lot of fighting, and plenty of wounds, they finally make it to the docks. The PMZ Valdez in sight. But just before they board, Cassidy turns back, straining his ears. Above the screaming, the desperate pleas of Enclave soldiers, there's a sound. Beautiful, almost, if it weren't for the source. "That freak..." Cassidy says, and the Chosen one turns to listen, too. "He's singing." Somehow, with his dying breath, Frank Horrigan is belting out an unfamiliar tune, but it settles on the group like a warm blanket. "I don't think he even really knows he's dying," The Chosen one says, loading up his squad and his people from Arroyo onto the Valdez. "Because of the FEV?" Marcus asks, carrying those too injured to walk. "No," says the Chosen One. "Because he's obsessed with the past. Because of the old world blues." And as Horrigan finally breathes his last, old world blues die, and new world hope springs eternal.

Frank: "The Rigs going down! Get to the vertabird!" "Sh!t! They left without us..." "Hey frank? Remember that song called... My Way?" Frank: "Yeah what about it?" "I didn't learn to do band solo for nothin."
Honestly find this so fitting for his character, a man that was devoted, mind body and soul to a cause set by someone else, literally broken down and built back up to be a tool in someone else's plan, never really given a chance to live for any other goal. And dying, singing a song about living your life and not someone else's, and being true to your desires. Yet all he desired was to serve with honor, duty, and dedication.
The effort put into this meme is incredible. The light in the mouthpiece, the light in the eyepieces, the background noise of the rig. 10/10, pouring a nuka cola out for Frank rn
There have been many adaptions of the Chosen One's adventures over the last fifty years. But this one is my favorite. While the musical adaption of the Chosen One's adventure takes extreme liberties with histories, frankly Marcus's solo outing with the Reno working girl is a cinematic farce, Frank Horrigan's outing is truly one of the most memorable in cinema history.
Frank was the monster the Enclave wanted him to become out of love for his duty to his country, you cant imagine the torture it must of been for him to live as a mutant with the mentality they have towards mutants, I cant help but imagine half the time when he says mutie bastard he is thinking about himself in battle and channeling his inner rage from his suffering. I love the thought of this being cannon on how he dies, thinking he had no control over his life and was willing to follow orders to the end, but in death he will go out his way and end his tale in the most fitting way and make it him who killed himself, because after all only Frank Horrigan can kill Frank Horrigan, and he will do it singing, possibly happy to finally be able to find peace in the end as his world literally and figuratively crumbles around him. Without the Enclave there would be no reason for Frank to continue, so rather continue to suffer he decided to die with what he deemed the most fitting way to go, he truly went out on his terms in the end and tried to take the ones who took away what he loved with him.
So, when I got here, my character was pretty dumb and I was a fist build. The fight was really tough and I had to use some psycho to get through it, after strategically placing my followers and telling them to wait. Unfortunately, this drug made my character so stupid that I lost the ability to speak coherently. I was frantically yelling at my followers like a gorilla, trying to get them to come with me and escape the oil rig but only Marcus could understand me. The rest all went down with the ship. Absolutely heartbreaking. Don’t do drugs.
4:20 the shakiness of the ai’s voice here makes it sound like Frank is choking on something and I’d like to think it’s him struggling to sing without the chemicals in his blood but he keeps singing to comfort the other enclave soldiers.
Some one needs to animate this. Frank Horrigan walking through the oil rig as it's exploding like that one scene in Pirate of the Caribbean. This song would have existed for him so fuck it he's singing it to himself.
would be metal if he was crawling blood dripping, gut dragging for a bit then stop and lie on his back, and started reflecting his life while he is singing as the rig is disintegrating.
I can just imagine a Fallout 2 adaptation where My Way plays alongside a chosen one and companions running slowmow as the oil rig blows up around them. Seems very Fallout.
In the depths of the wasteland, shadows cast long, Frank Horrigan stood, his heart heavy with song. The Enclave’s fortress, an oil rig grand, Now teetered on the brink, its end close at hand. The Chosen One had breached the lair, With a mission bold, beyond compare. To end the Enclave’s ruthless reign, And free the world from endless pain. As chaos reigned and alarms blared loud, Horrigan faced his fate, no longer proud. A monstrous figure, clad in steel, Yet within, he began to feel. Through battles fierce, he'd stood his ground, A terror to all who dared surround. But now, as the rig began to shake, He pondered choices, the paths he'd take. In the heart of destruction, amidst the strife, Horrigan glimpsed his fractured life. The man he was before the change, Before his world grew dark and strange. With heavy heart and weary mind, He turned to memories left behind. And in that moment, a song arose, A final act, as the rig would close. "My Way," he sang, with voice so deep, A dirge for dreams he'd never keep. The lyrics flowed, a somber tune, As death approached, under a crimson moon. "And now, the end is near, And so I face the final curtain." His voice, though harsh, held a trace of pain, A human soul beneath the chain. "Regrets, I've had a few, But then again, too few to mention." In that refrain, he found his past, A fleeting glimpse, a life recast. "I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption." His deeds, both dark and twisted true, Had led him to this final view. "I planned each charted course, Each careful step along the byway." Yet all his plans, his ruthless might, Were crumbling in the fateful night. The rig, it trembled, shuddered deep, As Horrigan's song began to weep. "For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught." A monstrous figure, yet still a man, Caught in the Enclave's deadly plan. To serve and kill, to dominate, Now faced with an uncertain fate. The Chosen One, with grim resolve, Had set the gears of fate to revolve. The rig's destruction, swift and sure, An end to horrors they'd endure. "But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out." His voice grew softer, filled with pain, A requiem for a lost campaign. "I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way." The words, they echoed, sad and clear, In the heart of night, so full of fear. Flames engulfed the metal frame, As Horrigan sang, he felt the shame. "My way," he whispered, as the light Consumed the darkness, ended the fight. The oil rig's end, a pyre bright, Would blaze into the endless night. And Horrigan, in his final hour, Sang of lost dreams, of broken power. His voice, a haunting melody, Carried on the wind, across the sea. A tale of sorrow, deep and true, Of choices made, of skies once blue. As the rig exploded, a burst of fire, A symbol of the Enclave’s pyre. Horrigan, with one last breath, Met his end, embraced by death. His song, a final, mournful cry, Echoed through the night sky. In the wasteland, where shadows lie, The memory of his song won't die. For in the heart of destruction's play, Horrigan sang, and made his way. His way, a path of pain and strife, In the fading light of a fractured life.
Imagine being a brotherhood knight walking on the bottom floor of the ocean in a suit of power armor, and you find this massive steel wreckage stuck in the ground. Sprawling out as if it had bursted out from within, and the beams are just tall enough to stick out the surface of the water hundreds of feet above you. And in the center of the wreck buried in the sand, is a lone power armor helmet with radio still playing a faint instrumental, but you feel as if there should be words to something so profound. And end up just moving on for more scraps of technology

Frank Horrigan had dreams of being a world class singer before all of this, and now, in his mutated, barely human body, he remembers the man he used to be, as everything he sacrificed his humanity for comes crashing down around him.

In an alternate world we are walking into the Tops Casino and as we take a seat we watch an old remnant man with grey hair walk onto the stage in pre war clothes, he has scars and the look on his face of a hardened man who has seen and done a lot in his life. As the man finishes with a boy and leaves the stage while the audience goes wild, you wipe a tear from your eye and approach the man and ask him his name. The man responds: "Frank, Frank Horrigan."

"He's singing."
Somehow, with his dying breath, Frank Horrigan is belting out an unfamiliar tune, but it settles on the group like a warm blanket.
Because of the old world blues."

Frank: "Yeah what about it?"
"I didn't learn to do band solo for nothin."
Don’t do drugs.

holy crap, it's Worf
I was genuinely horrified when I first saw Frank's death and he was STILL alive.
I can just imagine a Fallout 2 adaptation where My Way plays alongside a chosen one and companions running slowmow as the oil rig blows up around them. Seems very Fallout.
In the depths of the wasteland, shadows cast long,
Frank Horrigan stood, his heart heavy with song.
The Enclave’s fortress, an oil rig grand,
Now teetered on the brink, its end close at hand.
The Chosen One had breached the lair,
With a mission bold, beyond compare.
To end the Enclave’s ruthless reign,
And free the world from endless pain.
As chaos reigned and alarms blared loud,
Horrigan faced his fate, no longer proud.
A monstrous figure, clad in steel,
Yet within, he began to feel.
Through battles fierce, he'd stood his ground,
A terror to all who dared surround.
But now, as the rig began to shake,
He pondered choices, the paths he'd take.
In the heart of destruction, amidst the strife,
Horrigan glimpsed his fractured life.
The man he was before the change,
Before his world grew dark and strange.
With heavy heart and weary mind,
He turned to memories left behind.
And in that moment, a song arose,
A final act, as the rig would close.
"My Way," he sang, with voice so deep,
A dirge for dreams he'd never keep.
The lyrics flowed, a somber tune,
As death approached, under a crimson moon.
"And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain."
His voice, though harsh, held a trace of pain,
A human soul beneath the chain.
"Regrets, I've had a few,
But then again, too few to mention."
In that refrain, he found his past,
A fleeting glimpse, a life recast.
"I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption."
His deeds, both dark and twisted true,
Had led him to this final view.
"I planned each charted course,
Each careful step along the byway."
Yet all his plans, his ruthless might,
Were crumbling in the fateful night.
The rig, it trembled, shuddered deep,
As Horrigan's song began to weep.
"For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught."
A monstrous figure, yet still a man,
Caught in the Enclave's deadly plan.
To serve and kill, to dominate,
Now faced with an uncertain fate.
The Chosen One, with grim resolve,
Had set the gears of fate to revolve.
The rig's destruction, swift and sure,
An end to horrors they'd endure.
"But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out."
His voice grew softer, filled with pain,
A requiem for a lost campaign.
"I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way."
The words, they echoed, sad and clear,
In the heart of night, so full of fear.
Flames engulfed the metal frame,
As Horrigan sang, he felt the shame.
"My way," he whispered, as the light
Consumed the darkness, ended the fight.
The oil rig's end, a pyre bright,
Would blaze into the endless night.
And Horrigan, in his final hour,
Sang of lost dreams, of broken power.
His voice, a haunting melody,
Carried on the wind, across the sea.
A tale of sorrow, deep and true,
Of choices made, of skies once blue.
As the rig exploded, a burst of fire,
A symbol of the Enclave’s pyre.
Horrigan, with one last breath,
Met his end, embraced by death.
His song, a final, mournful cry,
Echoed through the night sky.
In the wasteland, where shadows lie,
The memory of his song won't die.
For in the heart of destruction's play,
Horrigan sang, and made his way.
His way, a path of pain and strife,
In the fading light of a fractured life.

The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. We should put that joke in text books so future generations can be wary of becoming such an absolute comedic failure. Im disappointed, hurt, and outright offended that my precious time has been wasted in my brain understanding that joke. In the time that took I was planning on helping kids who have been orphaned, but because of that you've waisted my time explaining the obscene integrity of your terrible attempt at comedy.
