    I’ve only watched a few of your videos so far, but I really enjoy them. You speak very clearly and it’s easy to understand your points. Great stuff

    this is great and probably works in 90% of applications, but here in the northeast, we have gas boilers and baseboard heat which means no control board at the boiler(instead we have an Aquastat). In my application, the smart thermostat will be controlling both the heat and the AC (R1&C used). I have extra wires (3) coming to the thermostat and a 24v transformer near by boiler, the question is where to connect the 24v to the device?

    great video but i don't have the QR code and I tried to pair it to my app and can't. Any idea how? I pushed the center button and it says it should count down but that didn't happen.

      I got to say, I love it. The only nit pick is that you can't override the temperature at the unit and hold it. It will go back to the schedule at next time switch. You can do it from the app, but not at the unit itself.

      @@LocksmithRecommended So I cannot physically change the desired temp without my phone?

    • @Robert77651
      @Robert77651 Год назад

      @@rhsalce You can change it from the unit on the wall, but if you are running a schedule (set temp to X at 10am then to Y at 10pm), the set temp will revert to the scheduled temp at the next time change. So using previous example. If you change the temp from X to a new temp Z at 1pm, at 10pm the temp will follow the schedule and automatically go back to temp Y.

    In addition to the schedule can you use an Alexa routine to add other scheduled temperature changes ? My utility company has an optional smart hours program that runs over the summer months. Prices increase from 2-7pm but the thermostat they provided can be controlled by their system , and turn the temp up higher during these times. It also starts a precooling where it turns the AC down for a couple of hours prior to 2pm. They still offer the program but they no longer give out thermostats. And mines not working right. Now they just expect customers to use their own smart thermostat program it themselves however they can. So, I need to be able to set more than just 3 schedules. And I’m heavily tied into the Amazon eco-system with many echos and FireTV sticks. If I could have the normal 3 schedules, and then use a routine to fire off a pre-cooling, and then turn the AC up right at 2pm this would work great for me. Anyway, this video is a couple months old. What’s your opinion now?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  2 года назад +1

      I haven't tried routines, but there is a pre-cooling setting in the app for the schedule so that when the schedule starts, the temp is where you want it.

    What happens if the power goes out do you have to reprogram.
    Do you need WiFi ?
    What if your internet goes out does it require internet to function?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  2 года назад +3

      It does not require internet to function. It requires internet to change settings from the phone, but you can also manually change the temperature (override the schedule) at the thermostat. To test the power question, I cut my power and turned back on. It came back up with all my settings.

    My existing thermostat only has red, blue, and white connected. They're labeled 1, 2, and 3. The yellow and green wires are there, but not connected to the existing thermostat. Should I connect these to my amazon thermostat?

      Use the check compataility on the Amazon website. It'll tell you if it's compatible.

      I don't know. Click on the Amazon product in the description, and there you should see a "check compatibility" link where you go through and answer a series of questions to determine if it'll work for you.

      I'm loving it. Only negative I've found is that your can't seem to do a long term temperature override. Like a hold temp. It reverts back to the schedule at the next timed schedule change.
