There is a few companies with the same setup as this. I’ve been using a similar way to this for a couple years already. The obd plug is to do the tcm. I’ve used it on customer trucks 20-21 and have done my 22 when it had 13 miles on it to rearrange some stuff under the truck and good.
Ran SCT Street tune on my 15 for a year from 180-210k miles, yes 30k miles in year. I average 120 miles a day commuting for work. DPF went from regen every 300 to every 150 miles. Was it quicker and shut off governor absolutely, smiles per gallon quickly disappeared when I was only getting 220 miles between low fuel light with 26 gallon tank. Knowing it was wasting 2 gallons on attempting to regen the filter. Was it ultimately the kiss of death probably not but it didn’t help.
Oh dang just watched the whole video. EZX is a little more work to install but you can change tunes on the fly plus has throttle adjustments. Definitely would recommend EZX over this. Tell them to give you one to try out, you’ll be in love too!
Pedal response is standard on the older SCT Tuners, it is a user programmable function not part of a custom tune. Not sure about this new one but I kinda doubt they eliminated a standard function . They also have user selected system monitors that anyone driving a newer diesel should be using. Tells you if or when a part is not functioning properly.
I've been using SCT for years, I like that it lets me monitor certain components that help warn you of possible issues . When numbers start to get out of normal checkout why and fix instead of fixing after a failure.
Performance: 76hp/210tq Street: 61hp/74tq Tow: 30hp/66tq Id be happy with a transmission shift strategy only tune for the 10R140 that cleans up the shifting.
Imagine if they were to tune pre 20 to add to what the Derringer adds. Looks like SCT beat Banks to cracking the PCM. I have the Derringer and PM on my 19 F-450 and it is Wicked!
@@joshwojohowski2326 So you have inside information ? Yea right!!! Doesn’t sound like Banks . They have never done flash tuning. Are you in California ?
Absolutely the Banks is just a compliment to whats already there. Think of the Ford accelerator pedal voltage readings. They all look sawtooth. The bank's pedal monster smooths out that saw tooth to make it A1
Why did u have to go through the PCM connection and not ODBII? THAT'S WEIRD. mine does not say to do that. Mine just hooks to the obd2 port. What's the difference...?

Do you no what would cause my 1999 Ford f350 V10 fuel pump to run constantly when in the run position and have no voltage at cam sensor and 2.6 volts at cht sensor and iat sensor thanks
@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Do you think SCT is the way to go for 2016 6.7 F250 that needs adjustment in the MPH and the Avg MPG info due to the oversize tires (37") and can they tune for better fuel economy ?

What if? You take your truck to a dealer and Ford has an update and the dealer flashes your computer with a new version. Now your mod is back to factory and the SCT device is confused.
.....you KNOWINGLY take the tune off, PRE dealer visit. If that happens, only the operator is to be blamed. You can't* say "Oh well I forgot it was on there" ...........
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod True, but I was referring to the dealer performing an update without you knowing it. I had that happen with a Jeep once. They flashed my computer and the mod device I bought was out of sync and no longer worked.
@@JohnnyUmphressThat is the main problem with flash tuners, they change your ECM...The Banks Derringer with OBDII connectivity is a inline tuner & works with your factory ECM...So if the dealer needs to perform an update all they do is disconnect the Banks from the OBDII do the update & reconnect the Banks...Doesn't mess with the tuner!

Great job man, would like to see a update with fuel economy and if re-gems increase
Engine sounds gr8

Anyone else hear the heavy breather in the mic? Little bit of tech talk ASMR? 😎
Certainly an interesting tuning setup SCT came up with for this application, but it appears to work well..
We thought so too
Love the picture of the unit, it’s got 6.43 degree’s of spark advance at 4800 rpm., lol , that’s that new diesel spark plug..

Yeah me to. I want a good tow tune

i would be interested on how much quicker the dpf fills up vs stock.
I’m sure quite a bit more. An Edge CT3 would be recommended to see how fast the soot/DPF levels build up.
Nice.
Im waiting on the derringer from banks
Cool stuff
Anything in the works for 2022s ?

For me... The 3rd to 4th gear felt weak and slippy after tune. So I tuned to stock... I'm not sure what's up with that???
❤ So I have some questions. 1st I like it.
2nd What years can it do?
3rd Is it worth buying and doing it yourself or say come to you?
Thanks😊
2020-2021 only. Definitely worth it and sure come in thru and lets change them fluids out!!
Would this need less regens since the engine runs hotter?
Just added a 5 inch my emissions are one
Nothing like computers and fat kid wheezing lol😂
How does this sct tuner compare to power levels from banks derringer? Which one you think is better as far as power increases
I saw this thumbnail somewhere before
So when is Banks coming out with the Derringer ? I like others have a 2022 . I had a tuner from SCT when I had my 2006 6.8L V-10 .
I know i know....soon
I'm told thr Derringer was put on the back burner in place of a flash tuner that has transmission tuning.

I haven’t seen a 20-22 that could be programmed through the OBD

How does it impact the fuel mileage?

Ez lynk with the right tunes will get you excellent gas mileage. It also corrects the tire size.
How does this compare to the Edge EZX that I already have. EZX has more power gains but about the same torque numbers.
