My dad is a huge fan of 50's and 60's stuff. This is going to be a great Father's Day present for him that I can tweak just a bit to match the look of his 57 Chevy.
@@DIYGene I will absolutely send pics if I do it! I think I will just replicate the back end as the housing. Also, I don't see a link to the speaker package in the description. There section where it belongs is blank.
Stumbled upon your channel when I needed help with a guitar build. Your videos helped me and now I can't stop watching them. Great content, with a great host. Thank you very much.
I love the look of this thing. I'm always surprised as your projects progress- From the first shot of the speaker at the beginning, I never would have guessed those grill rails were MDF.
Pete Rondeau , Thank you. I hope you enjoyed it. This was a fun project and I tried to keep the materials simple. I’m always open for suggestions or ideas, if you would like to see me attempt something else. As always, Thanks so much for watching.
Fantastic video Gene!!!!! I use CA glue and accelerator to, but a different brand. The stuff is like magic!!! One tip that i have learned and i wanted to share with ya. When i have something that i need to adjust, i will apply the CA glue to one surface and put the piece where it needs to go and make any adjustments, then i will spray the activator/accelerator on the joint from the outside. It will still activate the glue and set up very fast. I have also used CA to fill any gaps. Squirt a little in the gap and spray the magic spray on it and BAM it is set. A little light sanding and good to go.
Makin' Sawdust , Thanks for the great tip. I’m still learning about this glue and am blown away by it. This company sent me a box of the stuff and asked if I would try it out. I was hesitant, but really surprised. I didn’t even know CA glues even existed beyond those tiny little tubes of super glue. I wish now I would have used it as the filler instead of wood puddly. Thanks again for the great advice and for watching. I’m also checking out your channel. It looks great!

@@DIYGene I like random stuff, I'm a guitar player too. I don't know why I was fed this video, but then I found your headstock decal video. I have a 1946 GE radio that was refinished and all the labeling was taken off. It had a phono but that was removed. I'm going to retrofit a bluetooth audio board into it. (That's how I found this one) I was also looking at ways to relabel the knobs. I'm thinking white water transfer paper, making the letters in a goldenrod color on a background of brown that closely matches the woodtone so I can trim the decals close but not exact and get a decent looking label. I don't care about authenticity because the radio has been refinished anyhow. I may even label the phono position as "bluetooth" because that's what it will be. You probably didn't want to hear the life story of my radio but hey... you asked :) I'm not sure how far I'll go on it the bluetooth board and power supply are on order. Thanks. Joe
Joe, that sounds like a really cool project! Exactly the kind of stuff I love. I hope you will let me know how it turns out and send me a pic if you can. Thanks again, Gene

Great video! Could you help me figure out how to wire a ONE woofer and ONE tweeter bluetooth speaker? I am having trouble figuring it out (is it mono? if so, what amp do i need?)
I'm not sure. Are you looking to add bluetooth to the woofer and the tweeter? I think Parts Express sells kits for that. I will look and see if I can find a link.
Hey Gene, great job, super cool idea. I was thinking of doing something with a vintage radio housing (This one designed by Raymond Loewy) and placing a JBL Bluetooth speaker tube inside it. Any thoughts on that or am I better off with the 30 watt kit that you used here? Thanks in advance!
@@DIYGene I was hoping you would say that! I have two of them at home that would be perfect candidates!
