Bit of a tip with sketchup, you can drastically increase the number of sides of circle/arc if you scale up the model and scale it back down when you're done. This way you can make a circle with up to a 1000 sides rather than whatever arbitrary limit it uses when you're making smaller models. Also certain functions like 'intersect faces' work more reliably when the model is scaled up. I usually scale my more detailed models up up by 10x.

You'd have to put some component monitoring the power draw of the amp to adjust the voltage of the LEDs between the amp an,d the LEDs. Any ideas? Maybe a bit much for some flicker. Maybe it's easier to put a component with microphone that modifies voltage according to the level it picks up. Someone suggest an (easy, sensible) solution.

Still using the Anet A8 I see. That's admirable as it shows your commitment to the DIY anti-consumerism lifestyle. I think it was your video about that printer which really launched Gearbest, and for that I'm thankful. Their willingness to give products to small creators that was massively beneficial to me. In a way, I have you to thank for my channel.
I see a lot of people complaining about him using a 3D printer, but realistically the base can be done with plenty of materials. Wood or clay would both be good non-conductive options, but you need a lot more dexterity and skill to do that. He's simply showing the easiest way. Honestly with 3D printers being ~$200 (~$800 for less maintenance heavy ones), they aren't a bad thing to have if you're even remotely interested in small neat projects like this. You can also find dozens of 3D printing services online that can print the parts for you out of a myriad of materials. You could get it printed in resin to come out completely clean right away if you want, but it'll be more expensive and more prone to craacking if dropped or if too much pressure is applied during assembly.
www.aliexpress.com/item/LIXF-DC-Motor-Speed-Control-Driver-Board-3V-35V-5A-PWM-Controller-Stepless-DC-3V-6V/32844914858.html there is an option to use a 3v to 15v range, and I would rip off the switch and 3d print a new one that matches the design.
Great project. The use of the 3D printer is completely appropriate here -- while it is absolutely not in a lot of other projects. It seems that everyone has forgotten the trick to perfectly straighten a piece of (enameled) copper wire. Take a piece of 1 or 2 meters, clamp it in a vise. Grab the other end firmly with pliers or locking pliers and pull slowly but firmly. Do not jerk! Once you feel the copper wire stretching (a few mm for 1 meter wire) the wire is perfectly smooth and straight.
I hope you take this as a compliment, but I watch your videos primarily for your beautiful voice + accent combo alongside your very calm demeanor. I could watch you talk about these amazing builds you do all day! You look like Theon Greyjoy's more handsome, long-lost older brother. Yeah, a different project though, and with multiple colour changing RGB LEDS. This could be an idea for another portable boombox, this time maybe a 2.1 speaker system so it has a decent sub.
Thought about this, it would probably be possible to isolate the sound output with a few components and affect the voltage regulator for the LEDs a bit. Add a small capacitor to the LEDs and it would probably flicker smoothly to the bass of the sound.
