Bump-and-v versus bundles/towers will usually tell you immediately, though.

Not sure how this ended up on my YT suggestions, but as an ex-sailor (USN), the difference that I see is that you can create a set of knitting needles out of 2 chopsticks and a crochet tool with a old toothbrush and a small file. There are some hollow knitting needles that some people buy for use as "fids" when splicing rope... Maybe that is how the YT suggestion came up for me...

I started out knitting, i like it, but now i've not knitted for some time. I first thought crochet was more difficult than knitting. But now i think i actually prefer crochet, just one needle, now problem dropping a stitch.
As a totally absolutely beginner in anything like this, crochet seems a bit more forgiving, since you go knotting your way up the line, so if you don't have the coordination to maintain everything in place, stuff just don't fall apart. Am I right?
I do enjoy both but most of my projects are crocheted because of what you said. However, I think a knitted project, such as a sweater, is a bit lighter while a crochet sweater can be very heavy.
I taught myself to crochet and I find it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Gaining the muscle memory to hold everything definitely was the hardest part, but the more you practice, the easier it gets! It is also very easy to go back if you make a mistake - I recommend counting your stitches as you go, and if you are crocheting in the round, definitely use a stitch marker (I like to use a piece of scrap yarn or even the tail of the project). This will save you a lot of headache if you need to unravel your work to a certain point. Good luck!

Crochet'd products feel harsh to me (because of how sensitive my skin is to tactile input). It feels lumpy, hard, bumpy and knotted. Whereas knitted "fabric" with especially SS stitch and soft baby yarn is my favourite. Typical/average knit yarns feel too scratchy to my hands when I knit and it can be a teeth-grinding process, but working with soft baby type yarns are an absolute pleasure. I have many of these little crochet'd doilies and things in the house that my late mom made and I haven't the heart to get rid of them, but on the other hand I can't touch them, lol. :)

Make a mistake in crochet, you have to undo back to it to correct the mistake. In knitting you can drop the stitches above the mistake and reknit up correcting the error. In some patterns and often in lacework some people use a lifeline. An easily removable ength of yarn woven in while knitting. Crochet uses more yarn I find.
Here’s the BIGGEST difference between knitting and crocheting. You can knit anything using a knitting machine, but you can never crochet with a machine. Anything that is crocheted was made by hand, no doubt about that. Although there are knitting machines that can make very complex designs that will trick you into thinking it is a crocheted item, machines will never be able to replicate even the simplest crocheted design. My sister in law keeps trying to knit different things and is always disappointed that if she makes a mistake there is a huge risk in undoing the work. I’ve crocheted hundreds of garments and blankets and all sorts of things and I’m never bored with the process. Crocheting can be done by anyone with a bit of practice. At the same time, you never cease to learn new stitches and combinations of stitches, and then, when you think you know it all you discover Irish Crochet, and Romanian crochet, and free form crochet… and suddenly you realize you have to start learning it all again because of the intricacies of each crochet style.
A question: can you recommend us yarn's brands??? Because I've used some of them and the fabric itchies me and I would like to know some inallergic or something
How long does is takes for knitting and crochet for beginner to learn. Are they hard to learn??? How long Will it take to knit a sweater or crochet a sweater???? please reply thank you
I teach beginning Crochet and beginning knitting in 2 lessons totaling 4 hours. Most people pick it up within that time and can successfully make simple projects. A sweater takes many hours to make and the total time varies from person to person. Start with small projects before you try a sweater.
@@ForeverBlissCrochet cool, how much money for a lesson that you would take??? I wonder if you live in my state, cause I'm interesting in knitting and crochet. I don’t knit or crochet. However, it looks like crochet is bigger , fuzzier and more “holey” - is crocheting any good for sweaters and what not? I only ask because the knitting looks tighter
I had one man ask me to teach him how to crochet with a needle. I told him I didn't know how due to the fact that he probably didn't fully understand the difference between knit/needles and crochet/hook. I still get that question on the city bus: "what are yoi crocheting?" when I'm sitting there with knitting needles!
Knitting has WAY more stiches other than knit and purl: K2tog,k3tog,p2tog,slip,yo and way more. But i must admit that knitting and purling are the main stiches.
@@ForeverBlissCrochet I have a question, in knitting and crochet, how many stitches are they, do I have to remember all the stiches and memorize in my head forever???? Because, there are stiches in knitting and crochet right, I have to know how many stiches in knitting and crochet, if we have to memorize all, isn't that is hard??? Are there any tips??? I mean when we do by hand, not machine stiches.............
Knitting has 2 basic stitches (knit and purl). Stitch patterns are some combination of those 2 stitches. Crochet has at least 6 stitches (slip stitch, chain stitch, single Crochet, half double Crochet, double Crochet, treble Crochet). Again, stitch patterns are going to be combinations of those stitches. Not all stitches are used in the same pattern. You learn them one at a time. Yes, you can remember them all. You’d be surprised at all that you can remember.

I love it. Thank you
Very helpful video!! Thank you!!
A question: can you recommend us yarn's brands??? Because I've used some of them and the fabric itchies me and I would like to know some inallergic or something
I Crochet but I'm learning how to knit
Thank you!
Helpful video, seriously.
I wish that I could learn online follow your videos or other knitting and crochet videos, but I think I am not able to do that by myself LoL, I think I need to have someone sit next to me and I can learn all of these, because knitting and crochet are my favorite.............
I am in Nebraska and teach regularly. You can also check for local yarn stores, knitting guilds, or crochet guilds in your area. They would teach you as well.
@@ForeverBlissCrochet Last year, I went to London, I saw my friend made many knitting and crochet clothes like sweater, and winter hat for her nephew, and she made so preaty.......... LoL now I started interested in it now.................
thank you thank you!
What's better for making a dog sweater?

such a great video ☺
+Sunny B Thanks so much 😊
Ohhh…so now I understand why my scarf takes forever 😅
I don’t knit or crochet. However, it looks like crochet is bigger , fuzzier and more “holey” - is crocheting any good for sweaters and what not? I only ask because the knitting looks tighter
I would go with knitting for clothes - crochet tends to be pretty stiff, whereas knitting seems to be a lot floppier/stretchier.
@@laurenbashoura9575 thank you
i want to learn how to knit and i don't understand what i should and could do after i'll learn just how it works
Interesting. I usually get asked what I’m knitting when I crochet. LOL
My mates are now amazing Crochet artists ❤❤❤❤❤❤. I am in awe at their talent. It looks sooooo fucking difficult. ❤❤❤❤❤
Knitting has WAY more stiches other than knit and purl:
K2tog,k3tog,p2tog,slip,yo and way more.
But i must admit that knitting and purling are the main stiches.
I am learning in your channel video, please help me If I have any question in knitting and crochet ok
I’ll do what I can to help
Hight-th?
Just FYI: "heighth" and "acrosst" (or "acrossed") aren’t words.
You are right, but that is how I pronounce height and across in my American midwest dialect.
Watching this reminds me of how I sucked at my home economics class🤣
I prefer knitting tho, stitches are more compact
I've always wanted to learn how to knit . But never learned.
I came here because I knit and want to learn to crochet, but now I just want to be an alpaca rancher.
which one weighs the most?
Crochet but not by much.
I tried to click on your mailing list link, but received a 404 error mssg. I would like to find out when you're starting your beginning crochet classes and the discount. Thanks!
I have the attention span of a gnat. Crochet for me with uncounted stitches. 😅
