Strength training will help you gain back muscle that you inevitably lose along with fat during any weight loss program.

Thank you for this showing your weight before and after. So encouraging. I Just recently started learning about the Mediterranean lifestyle and I'm learning so much from your videos. I need to lose at least 30lbs while overcoming Lyme's disease symptoms. I'd have very little hope of improving my health if I had not found your videos.

If embracing the inner athlete is one of the keys, how were you keeping that last ten pounds on if you were doing triathlons? Actually, the body will lower the metabolism from long term cardio; it gets more efficient. (See the work of Herman Pontzer showing that hunter gatherers walking 10 miles or more a day burn no more calories than sedentary Westerners of the same height and weight.) It's good you're adding strength training. People should add it long before they end up losing fat AND muscle. It's my biggest regret.
