I was walking along the Murrumbidgee River near Point Hut Crossing in Canberra, as I’ve done countless times. Was stopped to talk to another walker, felt something brush my Leg, looked down, and there were two Baby Eastern Browns wriggling around like crazy at my Feet. Needless so say we got a move on straight away, calmly of course. All the Bushwalks around Canberra are awesome, but a lot of Snakes, I’ve had more than a few encounters and a couple of close calls.
If you get bitten by a inland taipan just relax no point rushing to the hospital as it is couple of hours away and you would be dead before you reached the hospital
Yes , Oxyuranus Microlepidotus is the most venomous, but the Eastern Brown PsudonajaTextillis takes 60% of lives , and it's now being said the Tiger snake Notechis Sculatus is killing more , but it's the Eastern Brown. Cheers
Most of the time the only bit of a black snake is 6" of his tail, they are more scared of you. However, a Brown or a Tiger they will stand up and fight. Plus these buggers are fast.
I got out of my car and shut the door and in front of me about a 2 metres away, I just stood still as I watched him sleather away. I am in the outback of Queensland in my region we have both the inland taipan and brown snakes. The inland taipan is shy, and prefers to avoid conflict. The brown snake is skittish
@allowah6 only deadly because it's found in cities in Greater amongst stupid people, what stupid people they be , one's who didn't offer a seat , The Eastern Brown PsudonajaTextillis is the 2nd deadliest snake on earth, just behind the inland Taipan Oxyuranus Microlepidotus and in front of , recently Discovered Western Desert Taipan Oxyuranus Temporalis, then 4th deadliest would be Coastal Taipan Oxyuranus Scutellatus, then my fave , the reasons no vipers in Australia , The Common Death Adder Acanthophis Antarcticus fastest striking snake on earth, it can lay in wait for up to 12 months , it has a caudal lure , it's an ambush predator , , and the Black snake The king Brown Psuedechis Australis, eats other snakes , like all king snakes , luv this topic , and it is now thought that bites thought to be from Eastern Browns but it may have been a Tiger , that is the anti- venine they use , it's a polyvenine as our elapids pump heaps of Neurotoxins, mycotoxin, cytotoxins Heamotoxins, arrggh , cheers hope you got something outa that , ciao. We Aussies do not know the meaning of the word FEAR. Does that mean we are brave? Nahhh,we are just poorly educated and do not know the meaning of many words .Jokes aside, Redbelly black snakes do not scare me, but a King Brown, yeah they are aggressive.
Lindsay , The KING BROWN Psuedechis Australis is a snake eater , like all king snakes, and it's also a Black snake, same as the Red Bellied Black Psuedechis Porphyrincus, now the Eastern Brown PseudonajaTextillis, like Dugite Western Brown Pseudonaja Affinis , all Browns , and the king Brown is the 2nd Biggest snake in Australia, behind the Scrub Python Similari Kinghori, another snake eater , like not Cobras, the King Cobra, Ophiophagus Hannah, now 4 species, Ophiophagus means Snake eater , it's not a Cobra Naja or Naja naja, cheers . I knew what you meant , but it's good to know . R

Inland taipan is Australia’s and the world’s most venomous snake by far ….

The list also includes annual death statistics not just venom yield or potencies 👍
Made that look easy indeed!

Nah the deadliest snake is the Anacoda in my pants. Yes, I do have the maturity of a 12 year old. The fuck ya gonna do about it? 😂😂
I've never seen a venomous snake in (or bite) a tree. Be a tree
Only deadliest because it’s found in cities in great numbers amongst stupid people, but there is probably 5 snakes in Australia more deadlier.
