    Not a frame off car, but detailed like it was. Less some mechanical tweaking needed, it runs fairly well and looks the part.

    Cowl tag missing rivets and denotes 70-22"3"87 (which is the code for the base model) If it were a factory Trans Am it would be stamped 70-22"8"87...

    If it's a real 70 T/A it would not only have posi, it would have a 12 bolt posi.The only year to have a 12 bolt.

    Just on the obvious this car came with 15" ws wheels the quarter panels are obviously the wrong year from the fisher stamp being elongated to a point under the strike post. The floor pans have all been patched the rear end was a 12 bolt from factory .The interior rear seat side panels are recessed for retractable seat belts . Not what i would call original. the Shaker is in correct At a quick glimpse I can see 15,000 dollars in missing correct parts, if you can find them it appears as a possible rebody

    the rear quarter panel trim pieces are incorrect they have recess for retractable seat belts witch 1970 trans am did not have

  • @whitaker2107

    when the door is open you can see the rectangle stamping with rounded point on bottom . this is incorrect for 1970 thus this car either has the wrong quarter panels or is a re body with the wrong year body.

    I have a 1972 early production Espirit/ Formula/ Trans Am/ GTO. I say that because I have changed some parts on a 2nd owner "California Custom" Espirit built in Norwood before the strike. I have the numbers matching '71 block but it currently has a block out of a '77 Trans Am. Not stock but not overly built. '69 GTO valve covers on double X heads. The car needs restored but it is a rare Bird. Anyone have any idea?

Lol I never turned to Popular Mechanics. for any info by the way. Nice ride though they only made 3196 examples. That was a misspell on my part.

  • @johnregner5963
    @johnregner5963 6 лет назад +7

    well the appraiser must not know what he is talking about case in fact: Doesn't look in the trunk? The doors are brought easily to original position with adjustment and new springs, the shifter knob is aftermarket, the bezel insert for a rear window defrost in in shit condition, the body bushings are wasted, the frame rails were NOT black from the factory, front steering components look wasted, the shaker door is fake, no grill in '70 and non functional, cracks on the endure bumper don't mean shit except the painter did not use flexible primer or paint which is necessary, and that's just the beginning. C'mon you act so anal but miss all that?
