Mr. Chuck Berry is not only the founder of rock and roll, but also the original guitar hero! As great as Eric is, I also admire the legends who are older than Eric… without them, rock music would not exist. BTW I don't know why the title 'guitar hero' has only been given in recent years to guitar players who are known for their fast playing. It's not just about playing fast… it's just my personal opinion. And... what if Eric in this vid is my guitar teacher? Eric so hot that I can't get the explanation out of my head at all…🥴❤️❤️❤️
He wasn’t the founder. Rock and Roll wasn’t created in a lab overnight. It was a slow process that included multiple artists and sounds. Yeah, Chuck Berry was one but so was Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. An unsung hero of rock is Bill Haley with his version of Rock Around the Clock. Also, one could argue that the original guitar hero is Robert Johnson-the guy that influenced every guitar player from the 50s and 60s.
Certainly, as you told me, Mr. Chuck Berry was not the only founder of rock 'n' roll. Perhaps I should have written 'one of the founders' 🙏 It is said that rock 'n' roll is a combination of blues and country music, but if we go back and listen to it, it is very interesting that there are so many other kinds of music and musicians that made up rock 'n' roll. Listening to Sister Rosetta Tharpe's music―Mr. Little Richard was influenced by her―I thought that gospel music is one of the roots of rock 'n' roll. And, we can listen all sorts of music and sounds under the name of rock 'n' roll. We can never get bored of rock music.
From a R&R point of view, Eric is describing the same principle that Jazzer's apply in their genre, 2 and 3 note chords that have a full sound, because they're the right note combinations. Very basic, and very insightful ... from a master.
Eric carries the blues. As a baby rock guitarist he was sustained on the blues, starting with John Mayall and the BluesBreakers, keeper of the American Blues in GB. Eric, thank you for carrying it on! Deep respect.
My main man. A very humble man. he is who guys want to be. He has always been way cool and super smooth. I'll probably never meet the man. he really is one of the best. A great human being your music is timeless you are also a very good teacher . keep on keepin on.i. thanks.....Dean..
\Eric. Please make a video in response to this com ment ...The single string approach was made possible by improved amplification technique. What led you to the overdrive guitar sound? 😉
@@jaybowden2658 I'm starting to think it's the director not an interviewer at all and he's trying to get footage for whatever film this is for. Never seen an interviewer talk like that.
We hear ya' Eric and it's a style that defines Chuck Berry, like his cousin Marvin, Marvin Berry, had shown him when he held the phone up as Marty McFly ripped across the stage at the "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance, where Marty's mom first met his father. 😂😂😂
That makes almost all rock guitar really understandable.
double vocals on tracks beefs them up as well. Even a triple take of the same vocal sounds magical.
Queen did a lot of that
@@davedecker1725 pretty much everyone did a lot of that
Love you for sharing your music and your life with the people that love you.
BRILLIANT MAN IN MUSIC 🎶🎵❤🎸
Chuck is the man
Chuck and Ike Turner were absolutely rock and roll’s first great guitarists.
You got that right Ike Turner was a musical genius. Right up there with Chuck Berry
@ I’m glad people are finally recognizing Ike’s contributions. He should be in the R&R Hall as an innovator.

Eric rules.
And we witnessed the important truth about the rock scene... 'Clapton Is God'
Эрик Клэптон отличное исполнение рок-н-ролла и объяснение.
Beyond smart with music for sure. Just gold!! ❤
How he plays is fine by me. Either way, it's good really
❤ love Eric Clapton's music❤Forever Fan ♥
I see what you did there.
All you play is so good!❤
Chuck Berry: the King
Little Richard: the Queen
Elvis Presley: the Ambassador

Ahh there’s the line all guitarist know after saying something sounds better than the other and then just saying “for me anyway” afterwards
Love it

Eric Clapton Legend
Double stops are the best!
I grew up listening to Chuck Berry,… artistic genius
Ever seen Hail, Hail, Rock n Roll?
@ yes, but it’s difficult holding onto my ding a ling 😂

I play rock and roll on piano. Eric is right on . The chordal leads are much more appropriate and satisfying on straight R&R
THANK YOU MR.
ERIC CLAPTON!☮️🎶
La classe naturelle et en plus il est un bon mec
Dub stop ❤ king - Chuck ❤
Forever my love❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
GOOD MORNING MY ERIC PATRICK CLAPTON ❤️ 💙 YOU ❤
Saw Eric in St. Louis where this was filmed. Magical night.
ERIC CLAPTON KNOWS 👌 BEST ❤❤😊😊
Promoter to Chuck,Hey Chuck will you do an encore? Chuck replys, Show me the money..
Cameraman is giving him a blank stare for sure
and because Rock n roll is guitar music he was the true King of it.
The very reason life is what you make it 😊
This special is incredible.
They seemed to do the special as a favor to Keith Richards. And they all hated Chuck Berry by the end of the session.
Or, in other words:
There's not many - or possibly any - ways to play Chuck Berry-style rock 'n roll except like Chuck Berry.
Master😊❤
master fraud
The iconic solo in Rock around the Clock is single note lines ..sounds great too me.
Chuck Berry had the biggest hands at the Guitar Center walk if fame in Hollywood. Joe Perry was next. Smallest hands was Peter Frampton.
Frampton smokes Clapton
all those words just to say that double stops are much cooler than single note lines 😂
Saw hi. In 82. Awesome
\Eric. Please make a video in response to this com ment ...The single string approach was made possible by improved amplification technique. What led you to the overdrive guitar sound? 😉
What technique of picking do you use to play the latter style?
"Explain", Clapton took that well, I'd tell that interviewer to fix his attitude when interviewing. That was so blunt.
His job, you mean?
@jaybowden2658 His job isn't to bark orders, "can you demonstrate" would be more than sufficient than just "explain".
@@allroundlad perhaps they only had a set amount of time so he had to be snappy

well
but that's mostly what you ve done with pure rock
n roll. like the carl perkins show and other shows no double strings
the single lines sound great lol.. its his preference. lol. especially with a full band.
Hah! Eric, we were all young once, weren’t we?
He’s on the money here.
this was my entry to soloing- that "double string stuff" lets the drones in, and it adds the punch up you need, the abandon you need
💛
❤
Thanks
He's right
This should have been Clapton's realization that he needs to play with thicker strings.
That or practise a little..even a little. he really has sucked for a good 50 years
It's a difference in the overall dimensions of the sound....more color.
I.agree , double lines hit the mark with authority .
Ya but that's the way you play eric
Eric Capton.
Me parece excelente ❤ 🌹 👌
Felicidades para ❤ 🌹 👏 ti
😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤thank you
He is my heoro👍🫶
What Eric said.yep
Hi Mr. Clapton! I really like your "Cocaine" stuff.
It wasnt him on the best cocaine solo. the live solo from japan 80,,it was albert lee. Clapton wasnt even the best guitarist in his own band..lol
Power
Epic Spïnal Tap moment 😂
That's Eric Clapton.
Steal it from somebody else. And add a lick. No Hand.
❤🎉

Sir very handsome and your great guitarist 🎉
He sounds better than 99 percent with the guitar unplugged than they do plugged in
Clapton knows guitars
He just doesnt know how to play them
Ok.. Everything he played sounded great.
It sounded right when Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Winter played Johnny B Goode!
Never realized Chris Martin's resemblance to Eric Clapton until now.
You mean like BB Kings single line play?
He means in boogie woogie rock n roll, not in blues.
👍🙌👌
It goes to 11.
A combination of both
Clapton the two chord merchant
Good Lord, how old was Eric here?
40 to 50 years old.
IF NOT CALLED ROCK AND ROLL , THE SOUND OF CHUCK BERRY
He ain't wrong
❤ Eric's fiddle is pretty good
È una chitarra,non un violino,forse non riconosce la differenza...🎸🎻🤔🙄🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😬😅
The Karen of the guitar world....!!!!
lofl..most overrated in history
Eric is correct, it does sound fiddle-y...
Trying turning it to 'leven, bloke!
@EricClapton 🎶 You are so adorable!!
Rita Coolidge wants her song back
Clapton played a lot of fiddly stuff on Layla and Other Love Songs.
Nigel Tufnel!
You don't need more doubly if you play double-stops ....aint that right mate? 😂
Spinal Tap... 🤔
Hey I learned something Mr. Clapton but how old are you?
pretty much what Beethoven did with piano
Yes there is what are you on about Eric you high again
That’s his secret
😂😂😂😂
Well it got me a username.
Whitt?? Aw did ye aye. .
Chuck berry has warts and flower foot.
Yeah I mean, that’s just preference
Jeremy Beadle's brother was a Guitarist?
