I honestly was blown away by Ljubljana I really think it’s so underrated! Watch out for the next episode when we go on a boat across the river that runs through the city 🌸🥹🤍
My parents are Slovenian and almost no one I talk to ever knows what Slovenia is (grew up in Canada, now living in the US 😅), so it's really beautiful to see people experience/appreciate the country, especially someone I've been following for a long time! ❤ I haven't been able to visit since I was a kid so these videos have been really comforting
So true, I always have to give them a geography lesson😉Where in the States are you? I so hope to find some Slovenians living here. It would be so neat! I have been here for 15 years and have yet to meet any.
Imagine visiting Ljubljana in the early summer when days get longer and it's warm out side. A lot of concerts happening and people siting by the river on the sunshine drinking coffee/beer and from city center you have a nice walk up to a castle and amazing views from there . I recommend
The early morning views of Lake Bled were outstanding….especially, that drone shot! Ljubljana is stunning, too! So much history, as well as, very modern and interesting shops to meander through.
This city reminds me so much of New Orleans in the French Quarter. Mardi Gras is coming up and it’s an unbelievable experience. Something to say you’ve done!
That city is gorgeous!!! What a beautiful trip y’all are having! Making such wonderful memories 💕 thank you for sharing your adventures 😊 I can’t wait to see day two ☺️
wow those first clips are like a fairy tale it's so beautiful! thank you so much for sharing your travels with us, it inspires me to explore new places and your videos always keep me company whilst i work :)
I've been wanting to visit Slovenia for years! ♥️ Living vicariously through your beautiful shots and lovely experiences. Also: every single Dutch person owns at least one Dopper bottle, because there was a period when they were often used as promotional material (with a logo on the side of the cup), very funny to see that you bought one!
Hi Catherine. Just wondering… do you usually do any sketching when away on holiday or do you take any sort of inspo photos that help with your illustrations later?
I'm quite surprised by the title of the video "Ljubljana - city You've Never Heard Of", after all, it is one of the European capitals and it seems logical to me that the average European should know all the capital European cities. regardless of size. Anyway, glad you enjoyed and that you liked Ljubljana.
lol I see what your saying but there are 44 countries in Europe, and some of them are very very small or new or not as touristy/populated, Slovenia being one of it, because it actually used to be part of Yugoslavia but after a big war in the 90's actually only became a independent country in 25 June 1991 🤣🌱 the other countries that used to be part of Yugoslavia are: Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia sorry for the random nerdy facts lol 🤣 But i hope this helps you see why it's not as well known as somewhere like maybe, Paris, Rome ect lol xxxx
@@catherinekayy I hope I wasn't being rude, I just think the term "you've never heard of" is an exaggeration. Of course, many people have never heard of Ljubljana, just like that they probably haven't even heard of the capitals of Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, which were also once part of other countries. Such people probably haven't even heard of Brussels or Helsinki. But as said, for an average European with general knowledge, it should not be said that they have never heard of these cities.
so cool! i live on the rock also known as nyc manhattan so small os an island. we have rivers here n not myth. my home area im not in but alphabet city has a good old river under the buildings driving us crazy. i found 1 in cp north west but in so u are lost n cant see a bldg to go where u want. i dont do cell phones n if i did id have gps me lost. u cant get that lost on this island bc its small n fine. i just refuse to pay for cell service. totally cool w free wifi. anyway, not a man made river theres rivers in the woods nw, id say mid island n maybe 8 blocks shy of 110. its mad cool. when its a million deg i wanna jump in so bad. pets jumpin in. not the little secret river in the woods. btw all of the water in cp fun fact is our drinking water. in nyc we have water clean safe best n never ending water. so there are pipes that fill 24 7 the cp lakes n such its that clean. i never understood the haters all u gotta do is mess w our water or the subway. n please dont. we have so much n forever water we have pumps so it doest explode going up, i think like 40 or more floors. i didnt believe the water was clean bc im from the country i orded tests n ppl no its clean. after moves n same test it now oh its clean. so bust the myth we have clean water, mad safe regarding doomsday crap or environmental stuff. we live on an ancient rock! sorry exploding rambling. i live in a bubble n ok w it! this island is fascinating, doors to old city tunnels was in a non related one n u cant go where mole ppl live n thats in the tunnels, walk down like waterfalls past subways was scary n beautiful bc the light would only go so far. this huge place uunderground was painted w amazing art, graffiti like wow ppl have been n come down here. i remember a kid was like fuck it went into the no light. east 51 i think. the po came down yall gotta go n be in male n female stuff only talk to a same sex person. thats a nyc rule. amazing experience! love the tunnels its scary a mystery history n dark present. so rare any can see it. there a few i never saw and old subway station abandonned n the art glass is crazy. anyways thanks for the info!
It was easier for most of the world (and smarter tourism marketing/memorizing) if the city kept the German name 'Laibach' or 'Leibach' (which is also the oldest historical name. Slovenia was anyway mostly part of the Holy Roman Empire (of the German nation) - and looks for a reason like that)

So much history, as well as, very modern and interesting shops to meander through.

The plane taking off and landing is most likely someone in training. My dad did that when he was getting his pilot’s license!
Just spotted this vlog. We've been going to Slovenia for many years as we have family there. Ljubljana is one of my favourite cities x

you can fill your water bottle up with hot water as a warmwater botlle like this or with clean sock around .
The mist around the castle was very fairytale like.

as a Dutch person i had to laugh at the dopper yu showed (the water bottle). To be fair the quality of them is poor.
What the heck, I didn't even know Slovenia exists.
Hehehe it’s beautiful isn’t it! 🥹🌸
