  • This is our first video, a short piece showing the inner workings of an air operated diaphragm pump. This particular unit is a 3/8" unit from ARO, fitted with stroke counter, pulsation dampner, flow valves and an output chamber to visualise the pumping process.

    Surprisingly relaxing.

What about something like this for paint spraying inside a paint booth.
Note that the paint is thinned with paint thinner. I have a double
diaphragm pump (ARO brand) and it works but I need to get another one.
    What would you recommend.
The pump sits about a foot above a 50 gal drum and need to pull water like paint with thinner in it from the bottom of the drum. 4 to 5 feet in height.

Apologies for the late reply Demasys. Roughly what pressure does your application require for a good spread? Diaphragm pumps work on a 1:1 ratio so what you put in you get out pressure wise, unless you go for a ratio pump. With regards to which pump, your paint chemical makeup would denote which type of diaphragm (elastomers) you would require inside so as not to react to your product. I'd assume something like a 1/4" or 1/2" would provide and adequate flow for paint application. It all comes down to figures :) Thanks, AP Team.
