I have also ordered some parts from Namokimods and all I can say is that they are on another level. The screw down crown feels soo smooth, its better than the screw down crowns on some Seiko made cases.
@@slyfondle1885 Let's be realistic, it's from a mods parts bin, so obviously every individual component will be derivative of something else. However, the creator did a good job picking components and pairing them in a way that doesn't immediately look like a well-known watch.
Excellent choice with the dial! And you did such a good job with the assembly. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 (I'm still intimidated with assembly since I've destroyed some watches)
This was a very good well thought out inspired video. I find that the kits spoil people from some of the thought process that goes into the construction of the watch. It is beautiful watch with the extras that you put into it.
Nice video 👍 I really like the changes you made on the watch. I think a deep blue dial would also look great with this watch, and would fit nicely with the name.
People have tended to appreciate something more if they have made it themselves for a lot longer than IKEA have existed. What did we call it before IKEA ? That dial is gorgeous. The watch came out really nice. Well done. 👍🏻
Well done! The final product looks great! One thing I will say: the black plastic screw device you referred to as a movement holder is actually a case holder. You’re correct in saying you should use one of the metal movement holders as they are actually for movements, whereas the black plastic one is for the case. Great video though!
Such an inspiring video. I am so interested in making my own watch now too! Thank you for sharing! I agree with what you said, when you make something your own you tend to love it more and wear it more. I can’t wait to make one myself it must feel amazing to wear something you create and make 😊
Great job! Very nice choice in parts also. I love Namoki parts, always top quality. You will always appreciate the thing you make for yourself or others.
So they save production costs by letting you assemble the watch? As I see you can not chose between different dials, hands, straps or bracelets from the beginning but have to buy one set of items already chosen by them. And if you want to modify those you have to buy additionally parts. That does not convince me.
@ashleytee This was an amazing video. I think I am way too intimidated to try something like this myself. I love the watch. The blue rotor is so unique, and I'm glad you put it on a bracelet on it. I agree, it looks better with a bracelet. I found your discussion of the Ikea Effect interesting. When I was about 10 years old I begged my parents for a camera. I even told them which model I wanted. (A Kodak Instamatic; I cringe at the very thought of it now.) But instead of getting me the camera I wanted (which I would have outgrown in six months or so) my father instead bought me a camera-making kit. Similar to the product you were showing, it had all the elements I needed to build a fully-funtioning camera. To say that I was angry would be an understatement. I was enraged and disappointed, and like a brat I made my 10-year old feelings known. But you know what? Building that kit taught me so much about photography. I was able to see and learn about setting exposure by adjusting shutter speed and aperature, and so much more. I imagine the impact was similar to what you experienced here. This watch will forever be special to you. Thanks for this video. You are a very skilled story teller.
That black one is a watch case holder not for your movement. BTW they didn’t gave you even a plastic tweezer for you to handle the watch hands?😂 leaving all the smudges on the high polish 62mas hands😢

Very nice watch mod. This is on my Bucket list to do someday.

Well done! Great to see you picked components that doesn't try to look like something else. That blue rotor is awesome!
Hey hey thanks for watching, yeah from the get go, I wanted something that is more of an original design. Thank you again 🧡
The dial is trying to look like an SRPD17 Zimbe Mini Turtle crossed with a Marinemaster 300, and the hands are trying to look like a 62MAS.

Thanks for another great video, and I really like the changes you made
Thank you!! It was really fun 😁
Nice first diy watch. Something I find it hard to do with failing eyesight and shaky hands. Maybe I can ask you to help me mod one. 😊
Hahahaha sure sure if you dont mind my skills hahahah
@@ashleytee I think you do a way better job at assembling that watch than I would do. 💪🏼
Nice watch and learn upload.
how difficult is this as a first timer? thinking of getting one
I think this is suitable for first timer, but I highly advice to see some video tutorials first before attempting it :)

Yes it is hard to imagine for watch enthusiasts what it would be like without the creators on this platform.
